  I have a pc HP G60 with Windows Vista. After the updated pc, I couldn't use Google Chrome (it crashed and said 'Whoa Google Chrome has stopped working') after reading a few posts, I decided to restore the pc. So once I did this it worked fine. The next day Chrome stopped working again and not so my Mozilla Firefox (it says THAT XPCOM is not found) and I think it was because as I closed the previous night there are more updates running on the computer. So I restored around 4 or 5 times and the last time I have done that and restarted the computer, that he was really a lot of time with a black with just the mouse screen shows so I shut it down by pressing the power down button (bad I know). Now, whenever I turn it on, you can see the Windows loading screen with the small bars at the bottom and then there is a black screen with white text, requesting that the operating mode (safe mode, normal mode, etc.) and then after I decided to use it says loading files or something like that in the white text then just a bunch of names to run it on the screen. I have not tried, but because it turned out that I was pressing f8 at the wrong time, then tried again before the windows logo showed on the screen and was able to use the Repair Options and then system restore and this time he solved the problem! • Power outage during Vista SP2 install; black screen on startup of the PC

  I have a PC desktop Gateway which is no longer start after a power failure has occurred during the installation of Vista SP2. The computer displays the progress at the bottom indicator, then, before that can display the login screen, the screen goes black, with a white cursor. CTRL-Alt-Del and Ctrl-Shift-Esc do nothing.

  I tried without success to the following:

  * Safe Mode/Safe Mode control guest - boots to black screen new
  * Startup Repair - told me there is nothing wrong
  * System Restore - tells me there is no available restore points
  * System restore the OEM DVD - can not find hard drive
  * Re-install this is disabled because I can't start Windows Vista-

  There are * all * options other than wiping the disc/lose all my data? The PC is in a remote area and backup drive is not an easy thing to achieve.

  The PC is no longer under warranty of the bridge, and I understand that Microsoft supports is no longer installs OEM of Vista.

  Can anyone help?

  I can tell you how to make bootable disks, but you already have a disk.

  He has changed since good means of XP repair install from disk by booting from it.

  Download the ISO on the provided link and do a repair of the disc.

  Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

  At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

  When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

• Vista 32: Black screen on startup - TuneUp Utilities to blame!

  I, like many others, make me a black screen with a white cursor when I start windows Vista. Using Ctrl + Alt + Delete I can open the Task Manager and access all my applications by starting a new task (for example Firefox, Cakewalk). I can minimize and reopen applications according to the needs, although there is no windows toolbar to speak of and no office.

  This happened during the first boot after executing "Registry cleanup" TuneUp Utilities 2012.

  Oh, it cleaned well.

  Two details that may be useful are:

  1. If I try to start Explorer.exe in Task Manager, it gives me this error: "the application could not initialize properly (0xc0000022). Click OK to close the application. »

• Stuck on a black screen on startup in normal mode.

  Vista Home Premium 32 bit SP2

  Every time I start up in normal mode I meet the dreaded black screen with cursor. I do ctrl alt delete to get the Manager of tasks and processes, I end explorer.exe and then start a new explorer.exe task that happens to me in my office in normal mode. However, the internet and most of the other programs do not work.

  I then restart and boot into safe mode, where internet and most everything else works as expected in safe mode. I tried startup repair and system restore. Running out of options... not very good with computers... spent the last week reading of many solutions on here and google.

  I hope someone can give me some advice on what to short to do a clean installation of vista. As I said, I can get it on in safemode and things work very well, it tries to start mode normal, that's the problem, and even once I get to the desktop in normal mode, nothing works well. I appreciate any help on this. Thank you!

• Boots Vista black screen with white cursor and nothing else (Black Screen of Death)

  After a download from Microsoft update last week, my system has rebooted. He first had a screen blue error, rebooted, reported a disk error and automatically run CHKDSK. Since then, the system has started a black with white slider screen and nothing else. This happens at startup options (Normal, safe, safe with the last command good known configuration). Not even sticky keys would come to the top. CTRL-Alt-Delete, Ctrl-Alt-Esc and all other keys has nothing did. Even with a right click.

  I searched all over the web for solutions. I found (and tried) several over the past week, but nothing has worked.

  I have download the hotfix from article 977675 Microsoft, but I don't know how I can apply it without being able to get into windows. I would like to contact MS e-mail or chat support, but I can't get the product ID without being able to connect (frustrating talk).

  I would like to reinstall OS, but HP does not provide an installation disc with their systems (only a full restore partition). My system is backed up (with the exception of the Windows folder), but I really don't want to have to make a full recovery, as I have a lot of specialized programs and settings that would probably take me a week to re - install and re - set.

  Anyone have any new ideas?

• Help with Windows Vista black screen

  I have a Windows Vista SP1 64 bit with 8 GB of RAM and 2 3850's Radeon ATi CrossFireX. in any case, I have a program called mechanical system, you've all probably heard before, this is an excellent program to clean your hard disk and defragment your memory. However, I ran last night and said the program automatically restarts the computer when it ended, after that he finished and I rebooted was greeted with the atrocious Black Screen of Death with a cursor, if it is not blinking and I can move it freely, but there is nothing I can do with it given the background task bar is non-existent and the entire screen is black.

  System Mechanic, by Iolo is one of the best of this type of program, he's trying to at least
  be legitimate, however it is still a Registry Cleaner and system optimizer that leaves a
  much to be desired in terms of compatibility. These programs are more likely to ask questions
  While fixing anything. Most are like snake oil. So my advice would be to uninstall. If you insist

  Hello

  I have problems with windows vista starts.  It worked very well upward until a few days ago.  I think that my computer has downloaded an automatic update.  The computer is turned off and updates apparently installed without problems, error messages, etc.  However, since that time, the computer hangs at startup.

  I can insert my password, but after that, the screen goes black and nothing happens after that.   The arrow cursor mouse is on the screen and moves with the mouse control, but nothing happens.

  I tried:

  1 safe mode: the computer starts in safe mode

  2. start: computer hangs when you try a clean boot

  3. repair of installation: no error or the problem has been detected

  4 system restore to a date prior to the occurrence of this problem.

  I don't know what else to try.  Any other suggestions would be great.  Thank you.

  Dell studio1535 laptop...   I can't really go back to the shop because they give only a grace period of 14 days for returns.

  Doesn't look good for me it sounds a bit like graphic problem.

  Hi all, I bought a B540 in April a power works fine until end of July when it began to show the error "display driver has stopped working and has recovered." a few days later I let him (I have need as a wifi station to connect devices remove) and after a few hours of work, when I came back, the screen was off and there wa no way to turn it on. Given that I do not use it intensively Isuspected some windows update to cause this strange behavior and I'm trying to use a point of restoration, until July 17, but the problem was still there. Then I removed all recent windows update of June on, and I realized that in one case, it was not possible (i.e. the "remove/uninstall" button not showed that KB). I googled around and found the subject KB has been reported to broken system and the only way to react was to use a DOS command to reatore a new installation of the system. I did and actually everything works ok for 2 days (one day, I actually use the PC all day to upload stuff to iternet it to work). Unfortunately, after that day, everything seems to repeat: new 'pilot not resposinding to display' and a black screen at startup.

  Please consider that the system is quite new and clean (only 3/4 months of life) and everything works fine until end of July. What do you suggest me?
