Host Agent VMware suddenly won't start

I've been running VMware Server 2.0 on Vista x 64 for a few weeks without problem.  Yesterday, it was working fine, then something has happened apparently, and I could no longer access the management interface.  Some readings of threads and investigation has led me to discover that the host VMware Agent is not started.  When I tried to start it manually, the service started briefly, then interrupted; After that, when you try to start the service, I received an error message indicating that the service could not start and "refer to the specific service-1 error code."  This trend continues today: if I leave service alone for a period of time, it will briefly start and then stop. If I try to start shortly after, I get the error code - 1.

I repaired the installation, and I also uninstalled and reinstalled it, nothing helps.  Also disabled anti-virus (avast!), same result.

Any thoughts?

Hey guys,.

Remove the VMWare folder in C:\ProgramData (hidden folder), and then reinstall VMWare solves the problem. It must be a corrupt configuration file that was causing the problem.

How can I start this if she fails to start automatically?  I just upgraded VMware 1.01 to 2.0 and will have a little trouble with my system error newspaper have reported this fault, which I believe, other threads may be the cause of my browser does not connect to the remote server.  Also, I installed VMWare Server2.0 but did not receive a prompt at any time for my License key, this will happen after I get the host agent VMWare started?

Try to create a new empty virtual machine and turn it - if you can do that, then you have a valid license.

You can see which license you have entered by clicking on the 'Application' menu, then "enter serial number" when the host is selected according to the directives of the attached screenshot.

  • First suddenly won't start

I had a very strange thing happens, I was working on a draft organization 5.5 when first suddenly became unresponsive and finally crashed.  OK, it happened with the Organization since version 1 in my experience then I rebooted just the program.  I had the loading screen, he went through his "loading x", as he has done all the stuff he does normally, then suddenly the loading screen goes well, I'm on the desktop.  I try again with the same result, this time I am following up the Task Manager.  Adobe first Pro.exe appears in the process, and then all of a sudden it disappears as the loading screen.

Hmm, I then tried to restart the computer.  After the restart, I tried again to launch the body with the same exact results.  At this point, I tried to reinstall the organization where my installation had been corrupted, it gave no results and the same problem persisted.  I tried again and Media Encoder, and both of them work perfectly.

I'm about to try an uninstall of the body and my MXO2 and reinstall, but I'm not all that hopeful.  Anyone seen this before?  The thing that annoys me is that I was working on a project before that happened.  If all else fails I suppose I can format and reinstall Windows but I'd really like to avoid rather than extreme a step.  And of course that happens when I'm on a deadline... things you never go wrong when you have enough time to work through problems.

Oh, I run a scan antivirus (Avira AV) and lift you negative.

    Some features on the machine:

Dual Xeon 3.47 GHz 6 core CPU, total 12 hearts, in total 24 logical cores

Supermicro X8DTL motherboard, intel 5500 chipset

Registered 24GO RAM in triple channel mode

Win7 Pro 64 bit with all updates

    Matrox MXO2 capture/playback

NVIDIA GTX 580 4 GB video card

Intel LSI MegaRaid SATA raid controller

Matrix RAID 5 7TB on the RAID card

Installed software is 5.5 CS suite, Avira anti virus and the Firefox web browser.  In addition, it is a clean installation

  • 4600 won't start

    Hi, community,

my pro sat suddenly won't start. only power led flashes. Got out of the car, a piece of metal appears to be noise. But - if the drive is broken - shoulnd't the laptop will start anyway? Thank you for your help in advance. Wolfgang

    Hi, Wolfgang

Yes, the machine must be able to start up indicating at least the TOSHIBA logo without the optical drive and fixed.

Some background info: flashing DC-IN means that you have a problem of power supply to your machine.

Please delete what you can without using a screwdriver. PC card, battery and so on. If you have 2 mem cards remove one.
When everything is there, try to restart the device. Keeps blinking? If you had 2 plates of mem, remove the still inside and install another one in another location. Try again. Always the same?
So I guess that there is a physical problem with the machine.

If the machine starts normally, try turning off and to reconnect one removed items at once turn on the machine after each reconnection.
Test them one by one and see if you can find out if there is a specific that causes this problem.

    Good luck!

  • Cannot start the VMWare host agent service

I worked on this issue for awhile with no resolution.  Initially, I had a problem running VMWare Server Home Page so I installed the VMWare Server Console and the error when trying to launch the Console VMWare Server on the same server VMWare Server is installed and connect locally:

501 command overall GLOBAL Server-vmdb targets no host agent not supported.

Came to the conclusiong that it was the result of the function of Agent Host VMware is not able to start.

    Environment:

    IBM BladeCenter HT chassis

    IBM eServer HS21 - 8853AC1

    NetXtreme Broadcom5704S

    2 x Quad Core Intel Xeon E5440 2.83 GHz

Initially, I installed VMWare Server 2.0 and then upgraded to 2.0.1 to see if that would solve the issue but always without success.

    Event Viewer message:

Host VMware Agent service terminated with service specific error 4294967295 (0XFFFFFFFF)

    Not tried so far:

    1. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times without success

    2. Tried to manually start the VMWare host Agent

    3. Tried the upgrade to VMWARE 2.0 VMWARE 2.0.1

    4. Tried to uninstall and reinstall

    5. Tried to launch the service as ADMINISTRATOR

It is the only VMWare Server service that does not start... I Googled, and I can't find a resolution to this problem.

Check this solution or search the Internet: "panic error: not well formed (invalid token)" (sorry, I don't have the time to search for you now).

BTW. If IIS is installed and running, try to stop and start the vmware agent

  • VMware Virtual Infrastructure Web Access won't start not

    Hi all

I'm a little puzzled. Yesterday my vmware server 2 was working fine, but today it does simply not at all. Or rather vmware server seems to work, but web access won't start so I can't access it.

I created a log of errors of the problem by changing the start of web access line in vmware-mgmt to send the log to a file instead of dev/null and the result which is attached to the file. I can't make heads or tails of it, but I hope someone can help me. I have re-installedvmware Server 2 times, but it does not help.

The host is under ubuntu 9.04 and the guest is windows xp. As I said, everything worked without problem yesterday, but today it won't work/start.

Hoping that someone will know what to do!

    Hello

Perhaps with the failure, vmware server became unstable. Then put back in place a clean vmware server is necessary.

To do this, all you need is to run ' vmware - uninstall.pl ' and then do a clean install using the script that I told you.

Remove it and install check is all vmware remains of zombie process in running and kill them.

You will not lose the virtual machine, but are always a good idea to make a backup. During the installation of vmware server all you need is pointing to the directory containing the files of the virtual machine.

If you have problems with vmware vmware hostd.log and/var/log/vmware proxy.log after install the own reach and we will check.

    Best wishes / Saludos.

  • Mgmt-vmware restart-> "Host Agent Watchdog" has no!

    Hi all

I had the problem that an ESX Server was red and I couldn't control this vCenter ESX host more.

    I did the following things:

ps - ef | grep vmware - pass

    Kill - 9 & lt; ID of process & gt;

    service mgmt-vmware restart

now, I've seen the following thing:

Stopping VMware ESX Server management services:

VMware ESX Server Host Agent Watchdog VMware ESX Server Host Agent

Starting VMware ESX Server management services:

VMware ESX Server Host Agent is already running

    Availability report startup (background)

I would like to manage my VM in the vCenter, but for the moment I could not do that...

    Any ideas? Workarrounds?

OK, enter a start, look at your var/log/vmware/hostd.log.  How far does go?  You can attach to a post as well.

  • Mac OS x won't start on mac pro esxi host

We have the latest mac pro machine functioning as a construction of host 5.5.0 esxi 2718055.  We have setup the virtual Mac machine of the as a waiter in a magic triangle to our Mac OSX windows domain configuration.  Everything was up and running for some time now not really used because we delayed the purchase of our projected deployment Mac until this year.  I logged on today, and he says he has several updates and necessary to restart, so we issued the command reboot. Now the machine won't start upward.  It starts the boot process you see the Apple logo and progress bar starts moving on a 1/4 of the way and then it just turned off. I tried several of the commands below in the link, but nothing works, it just turns off. I tried to use my mac with vm ware fusion and the connection to the host and always change. I have triple checked that I am in the comments window active when you press these commands, but the problem is it only stays on during approximately 5 seconds then stops. I have removed from the inventory of esxi and re added, as well as restarted the ESXi host as well.  The virtual machine is sitting on the local storage of the esxi server.

    https://support.Apple.com/en-AU/HT201255

Has anyone else had a problem similar to this?  I'm getting to this section and the progress bar starts to go, but then stops and turns off virtual machine.  How can I enter in address this further.

Okay, so I went through the list and now I got using the command option r. tried before but maybe I press the keys long enough.  I was using my mac book pro and pro fusion to do all this. Couldn't make it work when you use the client heavy vsphere on my windows machine. Repair disk permissions is grayed out. I ran check disk permissions and got a ton of errors, ran check disk and he stopped saying repair the disk. Ran repair disk and he stopped to say that he cannot repair the disk, backup as many files as possible, reformat the drive and restore your backup files.

Is there another way to try to fix this sucker, or is he at this point a POS and build a new one?

  • Commands to start and stop a virtual machine hosted by VMware player

Where can I find the commands to start and stop a virtual machine hosted by VMware player on a host Windows Server 2008 R2 (64-bit)?

I need to start and stop the virtual computer from a script as I could do this by selecting the ' power on ' and his 'guest stop' or at least 'power off' options of the GUI of VMware player.

If a control interface is not available, is available if I update to VMware Workstation?

    Concerning

    Marius

With the player, the VIX API is a separate download (on the same page you downloaded the install drive in), so I guess you will have to install the separate package to use it.  But it's pretty easy to do...

I can close this dialog by clicking OK and if I look at the services, host Agent is no longer running. If I start it again, it will do the same if for a few minutes.

Before running VMware Tools for the first time, you must

Configure it to your kernel running on the

    following command: "/ usr/bin/vmware-config-tools.pl".

Config tools... He'll try to compile tools for your kernel, make sure you have the kernel and GCC installed headers.  If the compilation fails, there should be a build any - any for the "vmware tools" somewhere on this site...
