My laptop receives by e-mail very well. Windows confiures my wireless network settings. Problem: when I try to open my email on my new desktop PC , an error window tells me my host server POP3 cannot be found. I have tried everything; network connections, Internet options; etc. I get connection otherwise for the internet Google, Facebook, online banking, but not to my email. I entered my full POP and SMTP addresses, but they are lost for my internet connection LAN, which is automatically set to be managed by Intel. I tried to reconfigure it and tried to find Windows wireless network settings. On my laptop if I lose the connection he asks me if I want Windows to manage my connection. And it does! Help! I really want to be able to find the network Windows wireless.

If you use the internet OK for other things, the problem with Outlook Express (e-mail client).
Check your server settings and out against your ISP help pages. I've seen cox help pages that involve your incoming server should be pop.east.cox.net (note the absence of the number 3 after pop). The outgoing server may be smtp.cox.net or maybe smtp.east.cox.net.

I doubt that the fault lies in Internet Logistics (what this forum is about).
I guess you have a problem with the configuration in your e-mail software (Outlook? Windows Live Mail? you don't tell us). Find tools, accounts or similar and triple to check the settings for sending server.

errors: the host 'smtp' could not be found
original title: errors
my computer is says the host 'smtp' could not be found. Please check that you have entered the server name correctly.
Topic 'IT' was so hard to find you account 'pop3', server 'smtp' Protocol: SMTP, Port 25, secure (SSL): no, socket Error: 11001, error number: 0x800CCC0D. I don't know how to fix the problem and would appreicate greatly someone to help me.
If your SMTP server is exactly as posted above, it's at least part of the problem because it is incorrectly shaped - that is certain - and usually identifies the specific server (although what you use may be correct depending on the provider). Also, which seems to be an unusually worded message - which is exactly what he said or hat a translation?
I recommend you to contact your email provider and confirm the appropriate settings for your e-mail program (did you guide step by step it) and see if that solves the problem. They are generally very useful for settings of accounts properly. It is probably just a typo or a parameter that is marked incorrectly or checked by mistake.
I hope this helps.
Good luck!

To set up my Outlook Express, questioned, by sending an e-mail with the download, to provide the above hosts "addresses", I have inserted the wrong information ignorance. Now cannot send and open downloads, I try to access the page in question again and RE-ENTER the RIGHT "addresses", but all in vain. Can someone help me to access this critical page, I could revisit the functional plan online? PLEASE?
Open Outlook Express, click the Tools menu, click accounts, click Mail, click Properties, verify each tab and enter the correct information. If you don't know, your ISP will give you the correct information.

PIX 515E external SMTP and POP access DMZ
Hi all
I need help to solve the problem I am facing with the configuration.
config: PIX515E Ver 6.3 (1), with 6 interfaces outside the interface is connected to the Internet router and assigned public IP. Access to the Internet is configured for users connected inside Interface only using the command Nat & Global (Global off-1 Interface). I want to activate the access to electronic mail (SMTP & POP3) host couple in one of the demilitarized zone.
1 NAT configured on the interface & access list applied. If I allowed SMTP & POP only I even don't get a kick on the access list. If I have IP enable any of these hosts, I can surf the net, E-mail etc. After that when I restict to SMTP & POP only, it works for a while, after some time, I don't see any future success to the access list.
What could the case of such behavior, I missing something...?, I'm confused.
Thanks in advance.
Best regards
Ensure that you allow DNS from these hosts too (UDP/53), as they're going to do queries DNS for the remote host IP address and the domain MX record before they can establish a connection to the mail host relevant external.
If you allow all IP then they will be able to make the DNS query, then perform the connection SMTP/POP, and they will be cached DNS queries for awhile that's why it works for a while after the removal of the ACL. Once the DNS cache expires in these hosts, they must make another DNS query causing crashes so that you don't have him through the ACL permits.

Impossible to connect to the smtp server and send an email using javamail.
Hi all
I am struggling with sending e-mail with javamail api.
I've visited a few forums but not be able to solve the problem then post here.
Details of the situation are:
1 SMTP - to which we are able to connect with telnet and able to send emails that work even between the firewall.
2 tried to disable IPV6 from my windows machine 7 after reading something - java tries to connect to smtp with IPV6 and it should be disabled so that javamail work.
3 has tried to run the same code to a linux environment. in this environment, we are also able to connect to the smtp with telnet server and send mail
the code I have tried is below.
import java.util.*; import javax.mail.*; import javax.mail.internet.*; import javax.activation.*; public class SendEmail { public static void main(String [] args){ String to = "[email protected]";//change accordingly String from = "[email protected]";//change accordingly String host = "smtp.somthing.com";//or IP address //Get the session object Properties properties = System.getProperties(); properties.setProperty("mail.debug", "true"); properties.setProperty("mail.smtp.host", host); properties.put("mail.smtp.starttls.enable", "false"); //properties.put("mail.smtp.port", "25"); //commented as its by default takes 25 Session session = Session.getDefaultInstance(properties); ////compose the message try{ MimeMessage message = new MimeMessage(session); message.setFrom(new InternetAddress(from)); message.addRecipient(Message.RecipientType.TO,new InternetAddress(to)); message.setSubject("Ping"); message.setText("Hello, this is example of sending email "); // Send message Transport.send(message); System.out.println("message sent successfully...."); }catch (MessagingException mex) {mex.printStackTrace();} } }
I get the errors are

someone had a problem like this?
suggestions are welcome...
The server I used was not accessible from the telnet command or java code.
However when I telnet to the server it was implicitly redirected to another server that I failed to notice. My sincere apologies to all
