Hour Glass

The screen displays an hourglass all the time so I can't use the hp psc 2410 all. I do nothing to do will get rid of the hourglass. I uninstalled HP & reinstalled without any result. Can someone please advise me what to do. Thank you.

Hi traumax,

I don't know exactly how the problem was caused, but sometimes when the printer begins to have problems like that can help a power cycle. I'm glad that you guessed it work and I hope that the link I sent was useful. You could try and turn the printer off at night before you go to sleep if you have not already. Sometimes, it helps if the printer still does not work.

    Bulisani,

Sorry for the problem with the hourglass and display...

Each unit of a battery pull restarts, the screen will appear empty for about 1-2 minutes during startup.  If you load ok and continue to have the hourglass appearing frequently, there may be a somewhenre of files sorrupted who maintains the processes that the BB must load - not 100% sure, but if there is a corruption, you might want to consider your phone by using the Fund mgr and performing a master handheld wipe (backup options security options (gen settings, touch menu and then select wipe Handheld)

When restore you... A full recovery can restore the corruption on the phone, so...

There is an advanced Fund mgr backup/restore option allowing you to restore specific databases such as Contacts, calendar, etc...

After Dec 2013 Patch Tuesday, I got annoying cursor activity in Firefox26.0, thunderbird and even a low rated at firefox25.  This Windows 7 after Service Pack 1.  I searched on the net without success.  However, this does not happen with Chrome.  I went to that temporarily.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Hour glass running

I had this problem before but can't remember how I fixed it.  I have programs running that I left rather I touched something else.  I need to close all programs that are running that I don't need to use.  I used the phone off instead of the back button or close button.

Best way to cure that is to pull the battery with the unit.

  • Help, Windows vista updated suddenly out of nowhere and now it stops and restarts everytime I turn it on.

I was online when suddenly windows updated and rebooted on its own. When I signed up in the hour glass repeated "busy", and then it suddenly takes me to this error page. • Windows xp pro installation re...

Hi all. I think I made a boo boo! My computer was getting slower and slower and this hour glass symbol appears too often so I thought that I reinstall Win XP Pro drive cleaning and start like new. Then I started the computer, put my XP Pro disc in the drive, he asked me what I wanted to do, I said to re - install xp and off he went. He asked me for the key, I entered, it continued on more and then stops, restarts and boots from the CD. Just at the moment where he gets to the part where its ready to install and I have to press 'enter' to do this, it stops again. I restart manually and still when it comes to where I have to 'ENTER' to continue, she stops again. I tried the same thing with xp Home Edition, but the same thing happens before "ENTER". So now I can't use the computer at all. It is a computer tailored from 2007. All I get now is a blue screen when its configuration, and before that I "GET" his farm down. Any help please.

    Thank you in advance,
    Gerard

  • iertutil.dll was not found after trying to download internet explorer 8. I can't get into my computer. Not even the start screen.

I can't get into my computer.  All I can get is the Task Manager.  It shows all my still intact material, I'm not him.  Not even to my home screen.  All that appears is my screensaver and a message saying to re - install iertutil. DLL... but how to do when I can't.

Maybe someday, we will see again the proposal to:

Once you open the Task Manager try the commands below.

    1. in the Task Manager, click file, and then click new task

    2. now type rstrui.exe and click OK

This would launch the system restore on the computer refer the below Microsoft article more about the restoration of the system.

If you really try , you would find that it does not work because rstrui.exe is unlikely that never will be in the PATH statement.

If you want to launch the restoration of the system from the Task Manager, you will need to perform a new task like this:

    %SystemRoot%\System32\restore\rstrui.exe

If c:\windows\system32\iertutil.dll is missing, you will see a message like this:

Explorer.EXE - unable to locate component

The application has failed to start because iertutil.dll was not found.  Re-installing the application may fix the problem.

Because explorer.exe is not running, you will see only your background image /, but Ctrl-Alt-Delete will always bring up the Task Manager where you can maneuver around and replace the file.

If the only problem with your system, it's that iertutil.dll is missing, you can replace the backup copy in the dllcache folder.  You can continue to obtain reviews iertutil.dll is absent, but just click OK for messages of recall as they pop up so you can continue working.

One might think that you use the Task Manager, you can browse c:\windows\system32\dllcache and (after choosing to view all files) copy the iertutil.dll from there and then paste the iertutil.dll file in c:\windows\system32 where it belongs.  That actually works, but it seems that it does not work as you will get an hour glass stuck on the paste operation and perhaps wonder whether or not it has actually worked.

To feel better replace the missing file, so you can actually see the file being copied and replaced... Task Manager, click file, new task and enter in the box (assuming that Windows is installed on your C drive):

    cmd

Click OK to open a command prompt window and first make a copy of the original file (if it exists) by entering the following command:

    copy c:\windows\system32\iertutil.old c:\windows\system32\iertutil.dll

That copies the file in progress if there is an and it will just complain if it is not a copy.

We know that XP likes to keep the backup copies of critical system files in this folder:

    c:\Windows\System32\dllcache

Knowing this, copy the backup copy of the missing file and replace the missing or suspicious file by using this command:

    Copy c:\windows\system32\dllcache\iertutil.dll c:\windows\system32

Answered in the affirmative if invited to replace the existing file and then you should see a message that 1 file (s) has been copied.

Type "exit" to close the command prompt window.

Who will replace the missing or suspicious file and if that's all that's wrong with the system, Shut Down box Task Manager, you can choose to reboot your system and see how things are going.

Do, or do not. There is no test.

  • Intermittent deactivation

A little more than 2 minutes of interval, the hour glass icon flashes momentarily on the right side of my cursor icon (arrow). This causes my keyboard stop working until I have click on one of two buttons on my mouse. While I am on my desktop or other window when this happens, I have to click my mouse button to reactivate my PC. When it happens when I'm working in an application, for example Word, my cursor request (vertical line in Word) disappears and crashes in my keyboard.  When I click on a mouse button only my PC back to normal for a few minutes and then the cycle repeats.
