House share - a story of struggle

House sharing is supposed to be simple.  You activate it on your iTunes account and you should be able to access your iTunes library on another device connected on.  Unless it decides who will not happen more.

I used the home for months sharing.  It worked on my iPhone, iPad, iMac (2014) and Apple TV.  When I got a new iPhone, I tried to re-enabled home sharing on my remote app, so that I can use it with my Apple TV.  The error I received was 'home sharing is currently unavailable. Please try again later. »

I did some research, and documentation is telling me to go to iTunes, open a session with my iCloud account and then go to file > home sharing > enable home sharing.  I did, and when I do, it invites me my credentials to iCloud for a second time.  When I get them, he accepts them, and then returns an error, 'home sharing could not be enabled because Apple ID or password is incorrect."

This is the interesting part, if I actually hit my incorrect credentials, the box gives me just red text that says: "your login information is incorrect." ... So I know I'm typing correctly when you need it.  But it's always 'bad '.  The error message is either incorrect, or is another problem in the authentication path that is not my real user name or password.

If I go to any other device and try to activate home sharing, I have similar results.

So, I went to support.apple.com and put in a request for telephone service.  They immediately called me and asked me to choose a music on hold.  And then they hung up. 

So, I went back and tried to present my airfare again and now it says "we could not complete your request because of an error.  Please try again later. "and there's a string of what looks like Hex code under it.

I have a few persistent suspicions about what it could be and I'll try, but I post here about this situation and, if I understand it, or if I find myself actually get help, it'll be something that exists on the internet that other people might be able to find when they search for these errors.

I had this same problem for a few days.  Same exact error message.  I can't activate the House sharing on any of my devices (Mac, iOS and Apple TV).  I tried (without success): disable 2 factor authentication of my Apple; ID Change my Apple ID password; Logging to iCloud and iTunes completely.

I have a genius bar appointment tomorrow, I'll post back when it leads to no result.

    Both computers have home sharing enabled, both are signed with my ID, both are using the latest version of iTunes, but the PC generates the page HOME of SHARE in the upper-left icon.

    The network is working and I have no problem importing from the PC to the MacBook...

  • House share for members of the app different shops, country.

    I want to use the home for family sharing. But we all live in different countries and different app store, then apple does not allow to configure home sharing.

    I use AppStore UNITED Arab Emirates and other Member is Japan and Viet Nam stores.

    If I understand, my current credit set up card required me current use AppStore in the country, then all other members wish to use home with me sharing the family must be the same app store with me. It's not really nice like other members living in other countries.

    Please guide me how to set this up or any other solution.

  • Share house TVos 9.2 - Tv series

    Before Tvos 9.2, House share tv shows displayed at different seasons of the show even as a separate menu items. Show 1 - season 1, i.e. to show 1 - season 2 and so on. I've updated by Appletv yesterday and noticed, now the shows are grouped together, and that a click on a show name takes you to a list of the seasons.

    Problem is that the seasons are now disused and in some cases marking the season is completely ignored and a group of shows is just amalgam. In the screen of the season itself shows are in the right order. I rebooted the atv and closed and open iTunes on the host computer.

    Anyone seeing similar behavior?

    I had the same problem, but I was able to remedy. It's your release dates. I don't know if you're dealing with the watch that you have ripped to your DVD collection or ones you bought on iTunes. I'll tell you what I did to mine to fix.    In my case, the show was Star Trek Voyager. Two of the seasons had on the DVD bonus features. When I tore the and retouched in Subler before adding them to iTunes, I put the original dates of air for all episodes in all seven seasons. But since the bonus never broadcast, I put their release date as the release date of the DVD set. So when I went to the Apple TV, both seasons were upstairs, because the bonus in these seasons had a newer release date then even the last show of last season.  I hope that makes sense. When figure you out which shows are you mess up, you can change them in Subler, which is a free program for Windows or Mac, or you can change the dates of broadcast in iTunes.  I would like to know if it works for you.

    Also, just an episode in this season to season out of order in the list of the season.   I've done the bonus release date: the same as the last episode of the season.

    Is there software/scripts that works in CC, who will share a story so listed (and not every page). I want to divide all the chapters in separate text stream.

    I have a book of 200 pages, with 25 chapters in an Indesign document. The editor wants the final file supplied in the form of individual Indesign files for each chapter. Does anyone have advice?

    I don't want to work with 25 records from the beginning (reserved), since it is your time.

    I tried MOVING one chapter at a time in a new file, but the inside and the outside margins are different sizes, and when you move pages, only half move to the correct position, the other half overthrew the inside and outside margins and are sitting outside the text box.

    So far, the only method that worked, is to save the file again and remove everything except the chapter you want. But it takes time - and there are 25 to do.  Help!

    I like the new App, or like. Since the update I have to see 'Top Stories' & 'Stories of a trend' in the application which contains the subjects, I have absolutely no interest. This means rather than to have my nice in the media of photography, technology etc. etc. I now see Donald Trumps face and banal stories about people living with bears.

    How can I disable these "features"?

    To customize the application of news on your iPad and get rid of the stories or sources that you don't like, I suggest that you follow the steps below:

    Add a subject or a channel

    1. Tap Explore the bottom of the screen.
    2. Browse the categories, channels and topics that interest you.
    3. When you find a channel or a topic you want to add, click on .

    Looking for a specific topic or channel? Click the Search tab and enter what you are looking for. You can also add a topic or a channel, you are looking for to your Favorites. Just type in next to the search results.

    Remove a theme or a channel

    1. Go to your Favorites.
    2. Tap on edit.
    3. Type in the upper right corner of the string or the topic you want to delete.

    You can also cut a channel to avoid stories appear in your feed you.

    Love, save or share a story

    Find a story that interests you and want to see similar stories in your feed you? Or want to share an article with a friend? You can mark the stories you like, save a story to read later, or share a story with a friend. Swipe left over history, or type , then click on your choice:

    • Tap of love that similar stories are your for feed you.
    • Press Save to read later — online or offline.
    • Press action to send a link to the history of Messages, mail and more.

    Dislike, silent or report a story

    Don't want to see certain types of stories in your feed you? You can mark the stories that you don't like, mute channels they appear in and tell stories. Drag over the history of right or type , then click on your choice:

    • Tap aversion to cease to see similar stories in your feed you.
    • Press Mute channel in order to prevent the stories of a channel to appear in For You.
    • Tap the report to report a problem with a story.

    Your stream for you cannot update immediately when you don't like a story or cut a channel.

    Stories of saved view

    Find items that you save in the section registered at the bottom of the screen. To remove an article saved, press save, then swipe left on the article, and then click do not save.

    You can also view your reading history in the Saved section. Simply tap on the history tab. If you want to clear your history, press history, click Clear.

    I just updated my Apple TV (4th generation) to tvOS 10.0 and am is more able to playback of content from a library of the House Share (d) which has been encoded using the handbrake of HD sources. Previously, these videos played without problems, and now they do not have.

    The given error is very ambiguous "an error occurred loading this content.

    b has anyone else experienced this problem?

  • Do not trust iCloud re. recovery (or Apple customer service)

    Hi all, just to share my story in case it helps - that is, to convince someone to create their own backup of data iCloud, or use a different service altogether (Dropbox).

    I created my own folders in iCloud via Finder & used this system for 9 months, between 2 computers & 2 iOS devices, without problem.

    Creating space on my iPhone and try to remove space elusive 'Documents & data' pigs shown there in iTunes, it seems to me you remove these user created folders to iCloud.  (Summer with only one right to: I did not delete files or individual files)

    I haven't checked iCloud until 3 days later, and the records have simply disappeared.  They were not recoverable by me (on iCloud > advanced > retrieve), nor, apparently, by Apple.

    First customer service person simply said they were gone, we cannot do anything.

    After climbing, the next two seemed to try to help by creating an interface with engineering, but always the same answer, even after providing the names of the missing folders and files, etc.   It felt a bit like Good Cop / Bad Cop.  I never had the feeling that the genie has really want to try to understand and solve this problem.

    Last 2 customer care people were abrupt and unnecessary.

    I asked for the data to retrieve, but also for an explanation of how this could happen, so that I can be comfortable with the system again.  They were very short, in the sense of "it is what it is, user attention, do not rely on iCloud to recover files, create your own backups.

    I don't mean to abdicate the responsibility to create my own backups, but their lack of ability to retrieve these files, 4 days later, and their lack of ability and willingness to understand what happened and explain how to avoid what is happening once again, were very off-putting.

    I was a big fan of Apple for more than a decade, but with this kind of service, with new versions of the applications actually losing features, etcetera, I look around other options.  This isn't the same Apple that I started with.  It's a shame.

  • Apple TV remote app gen4 records do not in other devices

    I tried to configure the remote application as the two House shares and manually, but no work because the application does not appear in 'other devices '. I have read many sites and nothing seems to tackle this problem. I'm on the same wifi network/sharing, I checked my firewall, reset the wifi and disabled the sharing of home and an if function I'm trying to add manually. . Please help, I just can get this to work.

    I think that you need to update your tvOS last, 9.2. The remote application has been added with this release. While there will be a new entry for Remote App, click on it and you will see devices paired and unpaired.

  • ATV 4 Home sharing not showing upward after 10.11.14 / iTunes 12.3.3

    I don't know which update borked... my home iTunes 12.3.3 or El Cap 10.11.14 sharing capabilities. House share used to work before each update. I've tried everything. Does not appear in iTunes, my ATV4 or one of my iDevices. Sharing used to be an option on my iOS devices, but even this is no longer an option because it does not have access.

    Can anyone help? I can't look at one of my home movies, etc..

    Content stream using home sharing

    You can listen to music, movies, TV shows, photos, and other iTunes content from a computer or device to your Apple TV iOS. The device and the Apple TV must be configured to use the same iTunes account.

    Set up a computer. In iTunes, go to file > home sharing and select turn on home sharing. Enter your Apple ID and password, and then click Activate home sharing.

    Note: In Windows 7 and Windows 8, the iTunes menus are hidden by default. To temporarily display, press the ALT key.

    Configure an iOS device. Go to settings > settings or videos > music and activate home sharing. Enter your Apple ID and password.

    Configure your Apple TV. On Apple TV, in middle , go to accounts > home sharing. Turn on home sharing, then enter your Apple ID and password.

    Broadcast content on Apple TV. Once you have configured all your devices using the same Apple ID, select computers on the Apple TV home screen, and then tap on the contact surface. Libraries from your shared devices appear, and you can view or play any content of any library.

    10.11.3 installed from the Mac Store this morning, that's my story if someone's looking for a similar situation.

    MacBook Pro retina 15 inch - end of 2013, 1 TB SSD, 16 GB Ram, i7 2.3

    I'm running FileVault and ran Clam AV.

    In my view, that the important issue is the claim AV based on the reviews I found in a few newspaper articles.

    Apparently, some suites AV fought this update during the installation.

    I can't even open the app console right now to review my console logs to check AV made a decision.

    After the installation/reboot, I was able to connect to my local account very well.

    But then everything was slow.

    GeekTool has not loaded

    Docking station came minutes later vs normal 30 to 60 seconds.

    All the dock icons had the missing picture of demand.

    I could open Finder after a period of waiting to die beach ball.

    There, I saw the mail.app with a bad icon image.

    The Utilities folder, but no applications listed.

    My home folder however, dropbox, ect still showed as populated... So at least my files are intact.

    After reading a few other reviews I started safely bootdownloaded the patch manually...

    And tried to do a manual install with AV OFF... This isn't launch... b/c all applications are dead...

    Still no love on reboot.

    I may be a brick machine here, I just wanted to share my story.

    Film digital storage for Apple TV? I think of buying a collection of films, but do not have much space on my iCloud. Movies can stay in the Apple TV?  Digital films take a lot of space, Don't they?

    The ATV is a multimedia player that allows rather than a storage device. You can store media (movies, tvshows, music, etc.) on your computer to iTunes and House share locally or you can broadcast over the web. But you cannot store anything on the ATV itself - conservation applies to the apps/games only...

    I just wanted to share my story being horrible Lenovo tech support:

    There was a progressive degradation of the LCD... of hundreds of blackheads started appearing on the screen. Laptop sent to the "DEPOSIT" for repair and he returned with a different screen problem, and it has been implemented badly. The bezel around the screen was curved and it was horrible noises when you open the form. He returned in the DEPOT on 3 December. This time, he was there for a month. They broke the Palm by repairing and then ordered the wrong part to fix it. It's at the station, from the 4th until 27 October. He returned with a broken rest (my request that I asked them to send the part directly to me), same problem LCD screen, same problem of domed bezel, a deep scratch down to the metal at the rear and a faulty keyboard. I was then able to escalate the call they have finally allowed me to speak to a Manager and someone came to fix it on the spot. There not all parts to repair the laptop and while blocking it with the parts he had, he cut the cable of the wireless card. Naturally, I complained and they said that the technology was the best person on the spot they had in the DFW area. He returned with the rest of the parties and went wrong fix... more things break. Now, the LCD is still messed up (color disappears from half of the screen if the screen is barely touched), the camera is broken, the collar is striped and bulging in places b/c the tech did not match or beat some of the clips... the rear panel does not correctly with Ruff... There is no stickers on the machine (just the holes where they are supposed to go) and the keyboard is still defective. In addition there are problems cosmetics such as scratches and stripped live on my laptop once Virgin. They don't give me credit or a new machine and now the laptop is shipped to an engineer in North Carolina, but he is expected to take at least a month to fix. The laptop has had 5 repairs (one of them being the repair rest of palm by myself) and headed the 6th repair. I am very disappointed in Lenovo and have been able to get real help. The laptop is in repair more time that I actually used it.
