hover link

Note that what to call what I'm doing?
want the stationary action on a menu or any text to display different images on the same page; images of change based on what you spend.

Murray

Thanks for your help
I had to play around with it some, but the turorial led me in the right direction.
I have the text (names of peoples and wanted to show their photo when someone hovered their name)
so, I inserted a blank image (same color as the background) and then swapped image (persons picture) when their name (text) hovered.
perfect

Thanks again

  • Change color of text connected via a: link & a: hover

    Hi all...

    I have a very basic question about change a COLOR of text-related and get rid of an UNDERLINE.

    Here's what I m tent, definition of CSS rules affecting a: link and a: hover...

    {body
    background-color: #CCFFFF;
    }
    a: link {}
    color: #FFFFFF;
    text-decoration: none;
    }
    a: hover {}
    Color: #00FF00;
    text-decoration: none;

    }

    The problem is, I get my purpose in SAFARI, but not in FIREFOX, in FIREFOX I can still see the

    blue color and underline, it seems one: link rules.

    is there anyway that I can get a universal result?

    Thank you.

    CSS properties you use (quite rightly) in which case links are called Pseudo-classes.

    On a Web page, the links will have 'States' depends on whether they have been, or are being clicked.

    There are 5 links Pseudo-classes (applicable to States different link) at least 4 must be defined (and the order is crucial) so that they work as expected.

    Specify in the following order:

    a: link (Link state not visited = - not clicked - link)

    a: visited (Link state = has been clicked at least once)

    a: hover (Link state = when you hover over a link)

    a: active (Link state = the momentary appearance when you're clicking on a link)

    a: focus is optional.

    The unexpected result that you see is the default value of the browser for a: visited since you have not defined a: visited.

  • Link hover

    Check out this page...

    By positioning the mouse on the sub-navigation menu (Board of Directors, etc.), the link moves. I'm pulling my hair out one by one, trying to find the cause. I'm sure that I have a conflict in my CSS, but do not know where he is. Help!

    The problem is your rule of SUBBAR. You have this:

    #subbar a: link, a: visited, a: hover, a: active {}
    text-decoration: none;
    padding: 5px;
    }

    which means all a: links inside the #subbar AND all visited/hover/active
    links throughout the page - NOT only within #subbar. Edit the rule of
    this:

    #subbar a: link, #subbar a: visited, #subbar a: hover, #subbar a: active {}
    text-decoration: none;
    padding: 5px;
    }

    affect ONLY links within the #subbar.

    Again - you will need to set this id = "width" problem and the red color on the
    Hover links.

  • Menus in Fireworks and Dreamweaver templates

    I created some button and drop down menus in Fireworks CS6. They seem good. I then created a template in Dreamweaver CS6 and added the Fireworks HTML code to the model and saved as a template. Live view mode shows good drop downs and stationary. Then I tried to attach a template to a page, and I also create a model page. I have two stationary circumstances does not work. Any suggestions?

    Thank you all. I have pleasure to fight through questions that t allows me to store solutions. All of the edge where great. In the end, this is what I found.

    1 Yes working with Fireworks is tedious at best. Menus in Fireworks will work in the models. Yes I created a template page in the correct Manor. However, the translation works well with these scripts in Fireworks and the menus.

    -Solution = I corrected the complete image URL links. Example: changed... liabilities to http://www.sethermal.com/assets.

    -It fixes all problems of hover, I had.

    2. Yes, I like CSS. I learned a lot through all tips from you guys. I build menus using CSS only for new customers.

    3 Finally, Yes, I see how the Hover link area extends to the right. I can live with that. I need to reduce the link Hover area so I don't cover the adjacent top menu bar button. I will continue to work on "positioning", etc..

    There is nothing wrong with your CSS. The problem lies in your HTML code. The slash is missing closing tags, the last two items in list.

  • When I hover over a link, Firefox adds the site before my link makes it bad.

    I was check the compatibility of my site. So I opened http://www.sethermal.com. It was fine until I flew over a link. Firefox has added the site and broke the link.

    For example.
    I entered the address bar www.sethermal.com . The site came fine.
    I hover over the 'Site Map' link on my page. Link is http://www.sethermal.com/pages/site-map.html
    Before clicking on the link, I looked down and Firefox shows www.sethermal.com/-www.sethermal.com\pages\site-map.html
    When I click on the link of course I 404 page not found

    Why is this happening?

    These links have a backslash instead of a slash.
    Firefox is not so forgiving as other browsers and treats a backslash as a character valid and thus prefixes links with the URL of the page.

  • I don't see the overview of URL that you get when you hover over a link. Why?

    Until today, when I flew over my cursor a link, a preview of the URL of the link appears at the bottom left of my screen, above the Start button (I use Windows Vista). Currently when I hover over a link, no preview appears, so I do not know the web address where I'm going when I click on the link. I thought that maybe this was due to the update to Firefox 19.0, but my friends who have also updated say they can still see the URL preview. Did somehow turn off the preview of the URL by chance? If so, how can I turn it back on? If this is not the case, why is it gone?

    I still see the URL previews! I don't know exactly why; He could have just a weird blip on my end. Thanks for your help!

  • How can I see the full target URL when I hover over a link? Not a short URL.

    How can I see the full target URL when I hover over a link? I don't want to see short URL. Is there a way to customize this?

    Full target URL allowing me to easily see how visitors reached my site via Google, Bing, Yahoo Research, etc. With the short URL I don't see what they entered into the search field.

    You can use this extension to restore the characteristics of loss of status bar and customize settings such as displaying the URL of a link to the overview.

    When I place the cursor over a link means that there not respond.for ex when I opened my email yahoo, I can't signout in that.when I hover over signout what it na no respond.but in another browser it answer.

    This problem may be caused by the Yahoo! toolbar as scopes as well down and covers the top of the browser window, allowing links in this part of the screen not clickable.

    You can keep an eye on this thread:

  • the ToolTip that fleet upward when you hover over a link with a mouse works erratically if said the link is in the lower left corner of web page

    So the title says pretty much everything that, but I would stay again.

    There is a small balloon that floats to the top in the lower left corner of the browser window when you hover over a link on a page with a mouse. The address of the link leads, indicates in the ToolTip.
    However, if the link in question is in the lower left corner of the Web page, the ToolTip floats high above right. Then he disappears to reappear a few milliseconds later. This blinking persists; You can neither do address or click on the link. By pressing several times shows RMB RMB menu for the link, which finally allows you to copy the link location and paste it into the address bar.

    Try disabling the Redirect Remover extension if you have. Disabling this extension worked for me which allows the address bar that appears at the bottom left when you move to a link to the right in certain situations.

    1 are you referring to the tips info-info-bubbles or balloons in the notification area?

    If you are referring to the tips or info tips then these are present design in Windows Vista and can not be disabled. Please refer to the below link for more information.

  • How to hide the Alt description when you hover over your links?

    I was told that you must have a description for images, links to just about everything. But when I saw my Web site and hover over the links, a yellow box will appear with the description of the images. How can I hide this?

    You're seen with an old (very old?) version of Internet Explorer, which is the only browser on earth that does what you describe.  All other browsers follow the rules and leave only alt attribute values (what they do).

    You can choose to ignore it, or 'kill' by adding a title attribute which is empty, for example,

    foo

    In addition, you add alt attributes to images for accessibility reasons.  People who browse with images turned off (and there are) or the people who use the devices and accessories functional screen (screen readers) need some indication that there is a picture in the place where they are to search/playback.  Therefore, you only want to add content to these alt attributes, where it is important to the message of the page (that is, a cosmetic image only would just a value of an empty alt attribute). And you only need them for pictures, not for any other element of the page...
