  You can insert and to scale an image of your choice, set its object Placement and dressing of your choice and then do a placeholder image. You save then this as a model. When you create a new document based on this template, any image that you copy/paste or drag/drop on this placeholder image will now have your preferences of positioning of the object and the skin. Other that that, you cannot change the default settings of v5.6.1 Pages.

  I'm writing the manual directly in InDesign CS4 and making screen shots that I'm making progress. I format the screenshot in Photoshop and export it to a JPG file.

  In InDesign, I double-click in the text box where I want to insert the image, go to file > place, get the picture, then press on open.

  Usually InDesign inserts the image at the cursor flashing in the text, but sometimes what happens is that no picture inserted and everything after it disappears. I get several empty text boxes and need to Control-Z to get back to where I started.

  Now I can put the image outside the text box and then manually move it to the text where I want to go, however when I export the file as HTML, then I need to manually move it to the appropriate area in Dreamweaver (when the image is placed inside the text box to the flashing cursor, the HTML file shows the image in the right place).

  I was able to insert the line in file with the text to a new paragraph mark, but sometimes InDesign doesn't let me do. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't.

  I don't know what I'm doing to prevent it from placing the paragraph mark and the blinking cursor (which is where I want it to appear).

  you would open the InDesign document and duplicate the text at your insertion point.

  Both documents are open.

  The insertion point where you want to "place" the formatted text is selected.

  There is at least a block of text with a paragraph in the document where you want to duplicate.

  Example:

  It sounds silly - I'm sure way back in the old days, you used to be able to quickly add an email (say Outlook form) a call to Infra, dragging the email on your Inbox and in the field of Actions and Solutions of the call.

  I have not access to Outlook in my test environment - webmail only. I can't seem to do the drag and drop - I just get a symbol "no entry", and the message is not able to be added to the call.

  Is it because that:

  (a) I have false memory syndrome, and you could never do this

  (b) his is no longer a feature in v9.1.6

  (c) its related to the fact I use webmail and it might work if I was using a correct e-mail client... ?

  I noticed such behavior in our v.9.1.6 system:

  If you drag any selected text from any external application in any type of HTML editor field (for example the Actions and Solutions text box) form VSM it copies the text (formatted) to this field.

  If you drag an e-mail message from outlook this will copy the info message (sender, subject, date, etc. visible in outlook as the record line of message) as plain text.

  A condition: the field must be in html mode (text mode raw is not ready to slide / move).

  I doubt somewhat whether it was possible to reach the message than the object in this way, but who knows - technically it is really possible.

  In addition, you can drag and drop objects in the object list. Message from Outlook as well. I guess that's what you remember from the old days and it works very well with v.9.1.6 also.

  I am currently engaged in my annual task of designing a booklet from A5 24 pages using folded A4 paper. All internal portrait mode A5 pages (pages 2-23) are monochromatic and have been created in InDesign CS6, while the outer skin of color (pp. 1-24) was designed as a single page A4 landscape in Adobe Illustrator CS6. This allows graphic images to flow seamlessly between the cover and the back cover.

  My normal practice has been to print this book myself, using a for the contents of the color inkjet printer and a printer monochrome laser for all the rest. I print directly starting from Illustrator for the outer double staggered and use InDesign "print booklet" for all internal pages.

  This year, I seriously think the brochure produced by a printer, who would use a printer laser color for the entire booklet. So, I want to merge the Illustrator illustration in my Indesign file so that I can generate a single PDF file for sending to the printer.

  I guess there is a simple way to import the artwork into InDesign, but so far I could not find a way to put a file on several pages 1 and 24. Any help would be appreciated.

  Place and position as you want on page 1 (leaving the full frame), and then copy and paste in place on page 24. Harvest to the spine on both pages.

  OR

  Shuffle off page 1 spread, then do slide page 24 up next in the Pages panel and place the art at once. If you do this, I would move the last page back in the PDF file after export.
