  You will not get notification by e-mail on the taskbar when you use the Hotmail account. The new indication that 'you have mail' in Hotmail is that you will see one (1) next to the Hotmail tab in your browser. If you have an email, you should see Hotmail (1) on the browser tab.

  IF your account is an IMAP account, try to delete the e-mail on the Mac. Actions sync between devices in IMAP email, so they should be in the Outbox on the server and you should be able to get to them in the Mail from Mac application, use you it, or in a web browser on the server.

  I resorted to brute force method, by removing all Tbird files, that I could find, then files and then all refenrences of Tbird in the registry, I downloaded Revo Uninstaller, but have not yet used.
