  Thank you - Yes, I just found this add-on. I did some digging further after I posted my question and discovered that this new update 'Australis' is going to be a nightmare for me. Mozilla says that making the most customizable browser, yet it is now clearly LESS customizable (and I don't mean only the button reload.)   You cannot move an icon in the Dock on the desktop. Right click (Control-click) the icon in the Dock, select Options, select Show in Finder. A Finder window opens with the selected application. Now click (or Ctrl-click) on the right and select Create an Alias. This will create an alias/shortcut to the app-drag the icon of the alias of the Application on the desktop folder. You can now drag the icon on the Dock and 'remove' to let go of it.

  If the icon you want the desktop is not an application the same instructions apply. Simply find the origin and do an alias to the drag on the desktop.

  I see that you are unable to move the icons on your iPhone 6 s after the upgrade to iOS 10. I'm pretty particular about my location apps on my phone too so I'll be happy to help you!

  1. How to backup your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch - every time that I start troubleshooting, I always recommend a backup to ensure that your personal information is safe.

  2. restart your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch - never underestimate the power of a good restart.

  If I understand correctly, you are not able to drag icons on the desktop. I'll certainly try and help you in the matter of fixing.

  To help you to propose measures to solve the problem, I would appreciate if you could answer the following questions:

  1. Since when are you facing the issue?

  2. you have any security program installed on the computer?

  3. what happens when you try to remove the icons?

  4. do you get an error message?

  5. are you aware of any changes made to the computer before the show?

  Run a full scan using the Microsoft Safety Scanner and check for infections.

  Note: there is a risk of data loss if all the files are infected and which can be removed in the cleaning process.

  If the problem persists, start the computer in safe mode and perform a clean boot. Clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

  Note: when you are finished troubleshooting, follow step 3, mentioned in the article to start the computer to a normal startup.
