  There is no trial version of Acrobat Standard XI. What Leonard has suggested would work however for Pro.

  Upgrades need not have the old version installed in order to work properly.  You can remove the old version if you wish.

  If the installation provided with your Windows computer discs was preinstalled on the computer - it is OEM and cannot be moved. You can move Windows to another computer if you buy the retail version.

  If it's a full license or upgrade retail - Yes. You can move it to another computer as long as it is installed on one computer at a time (and if it's a version upgrade the new Windows computer must have its own license of qualification). The previous Windows installation on your old computer must be formatted or deleted. You will have to perhaps call Microsoft and explain what happened to complete activation.   Don't know what your problem is - log on to Skydrive and recover the files that you need them, or download the app to Skydrive and they will all be uploaded at the same time.
