How do I change touchpad sensitivy on laptop

It drives me crazy. cursor jumps.

I moved that you post on the forum of Touch, mouse and research of Windows 7 in order that gets more attention.

You have not shared the brand and/or model of your laptop, but these generic instructions should contribute to help you get started.

Click Start or press the Windows key and type mouse but do not hit Enter. Locate the mouse in the Control Panel of the list of corresponding programs section above and click on it. Manufacturer of your laptop must have increased the standard mouse properties dialog box with their own touchpad for direct configuration tab. Follow the directions there. You can able to adjust the sensitivity here or you can be launched into the utility of configuration of the manufacturer of your laptop.

  • How to fix my touchpad on my laptop satellite pointer

    Hello

not sure if anyone can suggest how to fix my pointer on my laptop satellite?

I was about to make a presentation yesterday, connected the projector and the pointer froze in the middle of the screen.
After the age of play, I plugged in a USB mouse and it works?

Can anybody suugest how to fix?

    > After the age of play, I plugged in a USB mouse and it works?
I guess that you are not able to use the touch pad and it of possible to use the USB mouse. Right?

Well, I think you should check if the touchpad is not disabled using FN + F9
This turns the touchpad on and off

  • How to DISABLE the touchpad on my laptop to use a mouse instead

I had to reformat my computer Dell Inspiron 1545 (64-bit) and installed Microsoft Office 2010. I have a serious problem when you type in will I suddenly find I type in a place far behind the cursor. I thought that this is because I use a standard mouse operated by hand and not the touchpad in the laptop itself. I am told the only way to solve this problem is to turn off or disable the touchpad when mouse is used.

All efforts to find the way to do this have failed. Can you please specify? Dell has become so elusive and inexplicable, it seems totally oblivious to the real problems associated with this product - a classic case of supplier having lost interest in his clients. All THREE so-called solution have no effect on my keyboard. To the right of F12 key ejects the CD. F3 provides details on the battery and Fn + F1 does nothing - in other words there is no change at all.
I don't think that Dell or Microsoft has an idea of what the problems--and care even less!

    (a) open the Control Panel.

    (b) double-click the icon named "mouse". The 'mouse properties' window opens. Go to the tab "device settings". Click the button settings, Properties.

    (c) consider the left panel of the 'Properties' window and expand the option 'sensitivity. ' Click on the option 'touch sensitivity. '

    (d) reduce the tactile sensitivity in moving the slider to the right, to the label of "heavy touch. Experiment with different levels of sensitivity until find you one suited to your needs.

    (e) click on 'OK'.

I hope this helps. Let us know if you need more assistance.

    Thank you.

  • How can I change the sensitivity of the touchpad on my laptop Windows 8 Samsung series 3?

I can't find a setting that allows me to adjust the touchpad sensitivity.  I can pinch to zoom in with ease, but I can't two fingers scrolling unless I dig my nails into the protector with strength.  And, even then, it works sometimes.

Settings-> Imput gives me only option to turn the touchpad on or off.

Control Panel-> hardware and sound-> Synaptics TouchPad V7.5 gives me options to set the speed and to turn on or off certain functions of drag.
Control Panel-> currencies and printers-> mouse gives me left - and right handed options, double-click speed options, pointer options, wheel (which does not have this computer) options, etc.
Where else is there to look at?  Help!  Thank you!  :)

  • PC portable HP Envy 14, J5V14A: How can I disable the Symantics TouchPad on my laptop of HP Envy 14 t?

I tried to change the sensitivity of the touchpad on my laptop, but it is still so delicate, that it drives me crazy. The other questions, I looked here in the forum of the community is not party to the machine or the utilities that I have.

I want to COMPLETELY DISABLE it and use a plug in mouse.  Where is the option to disable the touchpad?

I uninstalled the driver for the TouchPad Symantic, but the touchpad still presents itself as a device of '' PS/2 Compatible Mouse. '' When I open the Properties dialog box of the mouse, on the driver tab, the button disable is grayed.

How can I COMPELTELY DISABLE the touchpad and just use a plug in mouse on laptop HP Envy 14 t?

    @kiltinshire,

Thanks for posting back.  As you know that there are several versions of HP laptops may be, most of the control functions are found in the user guide.  If you don't find it there then you would go to the deactivation of material in windows.  It is a microsoft.

Normally, you have 2 choices to turn off physically.  First the touchpad has a little button at an angle according to the model.  Use a function key, it will have a diagram of a square and a finger.  These methods have been used for years to turn your touchpad.

Then is just google how to disable touchpad in windows 8.  Here are some links that you may find useful that I found using this search.

    Touchpad and keyboard

How to activate and deactivate Touchpad on HP ENVY

Turn off the notebook computer Touchpad under Windows 8 / 7

How to disable the laptop touchpad in windows 8

Now if you try to find a way to permanently close off the touchpad so that it does not in fact once again you will have to dig into Windows Help for this.  If Windows detects hardware at startup, it will, by default, try and load the driver of basis for it and most likely turn it on when you restart.

The only other way is to open your laptop and unplug the cable that goes from the touchpad to the motherboard, so this does not happen.

    I hope this helps.

Thanks again for posting and have a great day.

  • My mouse pointer moves in the opposite direction, I intend when I use the touchpad on my laptop. It works fine when I use my docking station and external mouse. How can I fix it?

I'm using Windows Vista with a Sony Vaio laptop.  At the office, I have a docking station with keyboard and external mouse.  Everything works fine with this Setup.  But when I unplug the docking station and use the touchpad on the laptop, my mouse pointer moves in the opposite direction, that is my intention.  I move my finger and the pointer down.  I move to the right and the pointer goes left.  How can I fix?

Go to start /Control Panel, and then double-click the icon '' mouse. '' When this window opens, select the tab "Touch Pad" at the top. There's a box near the bottom called "Touch sensitivity", click on that. Change the settings a little bit lower than what they are currently at.

So I just got this laptop from my uncle, and his name is Bob.  When I turn on the computer and need to type in a password to sign in to get to my desk, he says "Bob."  How do I change to say my name... and when I do this it will automatically change my main folder with all my downloads and documents for say my name or if he insists Bob?

I have not thinl there is no procedure for this, the only solution I know is to create a new account with your desired name, copy all the files and the settings for the new user account if you want, and then delete the original account when you are sure that you don't need more.

Use the procedure on the article if you want to copy files and settings for the new user account.
