Click Start, run and type msconfig.

On the Startup tab, uncheck what you think that you don't need running at startup.

Then run a virus scan and AntiSpyware - you can find ones that are free on the net and and make sure you have a firewall too.

Press alt-ctrl-del to bring up the Task Manager and close everything that is running that you think are also unnecessary.

Overall be careful; confirm and backup before doing the things mentioned.

    HelloW

I want to know if there is a way by which we can know what the programs running in the background that use the network

    Help, please

There are specialized tools that can help you, it depends on what you want or need to do.

But freebies in Windows 7 are "msconfig" and "task manager".

in "search programs and files" type "msconfig" (without quotes) press key.

In the system configuration window that opens, look in the tab. This will give a list of a few programs that will be launched at startup.

In addition, in msconfig, click the tab and click on "resource monitor" then . In the resource monitor, click the tab to give an idea of what programs are using your network interface.

Right-click your taskbar, and then click "start Task Manager". Look in and , to get an idea of what is running. By default your user process list, then click "Show processes from all users" in the process to see extra tab.

    More information - msconfig - http://www.netsquirrel.com/msconfig/msconfig_win7.html

    -Task Manager - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Task_Manager

NOTE: But you don't only things "willy nilly", you need to understand what service/process done what before you start or stop anything.

We cannot comment on what programs you need to remove. In addition, some programs running in the background and removing will raise questions.

However, you can uninstall programs that have been installed by you. You can go to start-> programs and features-> press enter type. Search for programs that have been installed by you, select them and click on uninstall, individually.
Once uninstalled, you can install another drive as the installation location.
But, before you uninstall, go on-> do work right click on the C partition :\-> click Properties. In the Properties dialog box, click Disk Cleanup. In the Disk Cleanup dialog box, click clean up system files. And then click Ok. This will clean the junk files.

I tried several times to get a solution to this problem.  There is a program running in the background on my computer.  It blocks my mouse and I can even hear a clatter, as when you connect a camera to your computer, or disconnect.  My computer has been analyzed by microsoft help and support was in my computer several times, and accomplished yet nothing worked.  Sometimes my mouse freezes every few seconds until it is maddening.

    original title: hopeless

It seems that you have tried a number of bugs so far without success. Here are some suggestions of what I'm going to try:

You mentioned a background current program, if it helps:

Perform a clean boot to determine if background programs interfere with your game or program

Don't forget to follow step 7: reset the computer to start as usual in the link above to return the computer to normal startup.

I would also check the updates for your video card driver. Find the latest Windows Vista drivers for your specific computer model with the support site for your computer manufacturer. Be sure to get the right drivers for your specific version of Windows Vista, for example, 32-bit or 64-bit.

If your mouse is a USB model, it can be useful to check the latest drivers for your motherboard (chipset) Vista to the support site for the manufacturer of the computer. Also, since you're here you can check for the other updated drivers for your system, i.e., audio, LAN (network), etc.

    Computer manufacturers
     http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/help/contact-support/computer-manufacturers

If you have the graphics card Intel integrated, you can check on the website below:

Update utility graphics card Driver Intel
     http://www.Intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect/graphics

If you have a dedicated graphics card, you will need to check with the card manufacturer, the two most often used are linked below:

    NVIDIA driver downloads
     http://www.nvidia.com/download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

AMD (ATI) drivers & Software graphics card
     http://support.AMD.com/us/GPUDOWNLOAD/pages/index.aspx

If you have not done so, see the support site of the manufacturer of the mouse for the Vista updated drivers, known issues with your specific models or known solutions.

An element that may cause unpredictable problems that are extremely difficult to identify are (live RAM) memory errors, Windows Vista has a built-in for system RAM check utility:

How will I know if my computer has a memory problem?

How to use the Windows Vista memory diagnostic tool
     http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/using-Vista-Windows-Memory-Diagnostics-tool/

To perform a more complete test is the use of Memtest86 but is more complex, includes the creation of a CD bootable for the test, it is not really something for difficult burn an .iso file downloaded to a blank disc (available in the free download link) and then boot from the CD.

    Memtest86

I hope that something of the above can help lead you to a solution.

    Kind regards

Think about it an absolute must - manually update your drivers.

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded
on your system. For each driver in the list, additional useful information is
Poster: load address of the driver, description, version, product name,.
company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit Maker as replacements and system manufacturer of device which are
the most recent. Control Panel - write - graphics card - device manager
the brand and complete model of your video card - double click - tab of the driver-
Note the version information. Now click on UPdate Driver (this can do nothing
MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then do a right click - Uninstall - REBOOT
This will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard
If there are 3rd party with their own software and drivers and the other main device drivers
    you have.

Now, go to the site of the manufacturer of system (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) (restore)
and site (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get the manufacturer and device
their latest versions. (Look for the system to update the BIOS, Chipset and software updates
    Site of the manufacturer here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN -.
    REBOOT after each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you are
installation actually appears. This is because that some rollback of drivers before the
later is installed (particularly that audio drivers) so install a driver - reboot.
Make sure that it is installed and repeat if necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW to the device makers DO NOT RUN THEIR
SCANNER - check manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.
    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/HT/driverdlmfgr.htm

Installation and update of drivers under Windows 7 (updated drivers manually using
the above methods is preferable to ensure the latest drivers from the manufacturer of system
    and device manufacturers are located)
    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/43216-installing-updating-drivers-7-a.html

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable driver facilities
in the updates of Windows, which leaves on Windows updates, but it will not be installed
pilots who are generally older and cause problems. If updates provides a new
driver then hide it (right click on it) and then go get new ones manually if
    you want.
