  • How can I clear the paper jam in my printer

    Original title: Deskjet printer

How can I clear the paper jam in my printer?

    Hello Janet,.

    Let me ask you;

    • What is the brand and model of the printer?
    • Do you have the manual of the printer with you?

The following factors can cause paper jams:

    1. paper loaded properly in the paper tray.

2 rolls of paper damaged or dirty.

    3. torn, crumpled or wet paper loaded in the paper tray.

    4. the access door back or double-sided (duplexer) printing accessory cannot be closed or is not locked in place.

5 paper was added to a stack already in the status bar.
The status bar contained more than one type of paper.

    6. torn pieces of paper from a previous jam are stuck in the product.

    7. the status bar is too full.

    8. If printing on an envelope, the envelope edges are bent.

To avoid damage to the printer, see the documentation that came with the printer to see how to remove paper jams. Function of the printer, and where the problem is occurring, you might want to try one of the following options:

    • Go to the printer, the arrival of mail in the State or the display on the printer area that might tell you where the problem occurred, and then complete steps provided to remove the paper jam. If the printer does not display an information about the problem, check the information that came with the printer. If the printer is connected to a network domain, contact a system administrator or your company support desk.

    • Some printers offer a button that you can press on and hold, or paper feed another option that you can use to try to get the paper without damaging the printer.

    • You may need to open the printer casing and remove the paper that is the cause of the problem. Before do you, check the documentation that came with the printer to see if you put off the printer or take other measures to prevent injury to yourself or damage to the printer.

You should also check if the printer box opening will result in the invalidity of the guarantee or any agreement to repair that you bought or supplied with the printer. For more information on the agreements, check the detail information and manufacturer supplied with the printer.

If the problem persists, use the printer to help manual or contact the manufacturer of the printer to help.

Hope this information is useful. Please feel free to answer in the case where you are facing in the future other problems with Windows.

  • Can't choose the paper tray

I just got a 6520, using Windows 7 Home Premium.  I use Microsoft Office Picture Manager to edit and print images.  The 6520 installed very well even printed a photo of test using an image from my computer and everything done on paper 4 x 6 in the upper plateau.  When I try and print Picture Manager, she prays for printer and paper type.  I selects HP 4 x 6 paper, but when I print it out on paper in the lower tray.  HP 4 x 6 is in the top tray.  I found some info in the support FAQ section that says to remove the paper from the lower bin, but everything that isn't generating "printer with paper.

I can't find anything in the user manual or online help on how I can choose with paper tray is in.

    Hello

The status bar must be configured in printing preferences.

While printing from Microsoft Office Picture Manager, you should see a Wizard for the wizard, click printing Preferenes to change these options.

Enter the paper/quality tab, be sure to set both the abnd there specific paper size tray.

Confirm the changes and close the wizard.

  • How can I control the paper with a PDF file trays

At the moment we use postscript to specify which page of a document gets taken from what on our docutech/IGEN etc. paper tray. We are able to specify the source of paper by using InDesign and a third part application but so that the press in order to understand the command, we must present the work as postscript instead of a PDF file.

How do do this with a 'modern' PDF workflow, by incorporating this information in the PDF itself through some means or is there some kind of external control I'm missing? PDF/VT does it take?

    Thank you

    Bob

PDF is designed so that the job control is not placed in the PDF file itself. This control work including support pages are printed on what paper, tax parameters, finishing, etc. are placed in a job ticket, normally JDF, to print PDF streams. Some manufacturers have their own format of work ticket that specifies these parameters of the device instead of JDF dependent work.

In the case of digital presses to Xerox Docutech and iGen, you should contact Xerox if you use their DFE (digital front-end server) or one that provides the DFE or Xerox for instructions on the construction of such a work.

Regarding PDF/VT, this subset PDF standard is based on top of PDF/X-4. It provides no support for DPM (departure Metadata) that can be used to label individual pages as to what type of page, they are, for example a cover page, a page of text, a postcard, etc.. This label is then used by JDF (or any of the job your system ticket mechanism uses otherwise JDF) to provide guidance for how those pages should be handled (as a source of paper, taxation, duplex/simplex, etc..)

  • jet5740 Office: notice that the paper tray must close when it is not open

    Dear FixIt people.

I've had my new 5740 for about 3 weeks now and I get a message on screen telling me that a tray should close when it is not open. Indeed NO trays are open to all. It prints well, but after each sheet this message.

Any help would be welcome. TYVM

    Hi @superbius69 ,

By your post, I see that you have found a message that the "paper needs tray close", when it is not open. I will do my best to help you.

Try the following steps to see if it will solve the problem.

A "paper tray is open. Close the drawer to continue. "Message appears on the printer control panel.

If you need help, let me know.

    Good day!

  • How can I change the paper orientation when printing on Photos?

In the Photos on OSX El Capitan, I would like to print photos. I put them up to two print by page, but when I went to print, the paper was not portrait and landscape oriented as indicated in the overview. (screenshot below)

There seems to be no way to set the direction for the paper from Photos and no option in the print dialog box to change this. I looked up the other forum posts and proposed to set the default paper size in the printer setup... .mine shows 8.26 11.69 inches (A4), which should be the portrait.

Anyway I can change this so I can actually print photos on paper?

I could not the orientation to be changed but found a workaround.

    1. Select two photos to print], Option (right) - click on it and select rotate to the left in the menu.

Now print as you did and you'll get this:

  • How can I access the system tray when it is disabled on the public computers?

    Hi all

I'm trying to access the icons on the test system such as: 'Remove the device safely', but I also try to access the other icons that would show in the system tray icon on the taskbar, when I plug my USB key into a USB port. The problem is, the I use public computers are at the library, and they have the system tray and start menu disabled, so not even my flash drive icon will appear in the system tray when I plug. Is there a way to access the system tray via a software or something?
I did a search on google for answers before posting here, but so far without success. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello

You will need to check with the individual computer as they have probably disabled
All methods of access to these functions, and the status bar for security reasons. Since that
is a major challenge for public networks, I bet they left without holes.

    I hope this helps.

  • How can I change the paper size of the pdf file?

I use Adobe Acrobat Reader X, but the paper size of the PDF file is larger than the 81/2 "x 11". I need to change the page size of the PDF file.

    Hi matthewc70309046,

There is no option to change the Page size of a PDF document.

Try to print to the Adobe PDF format, in the dialog box print, select Page layout-> size desired by you.

    Hello

To add to Jeeped good advice:

Dell and others also have similar application modules.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------

If you can determine what add-on, it is then you can remove and reload it.

Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - IE with no Addons - what works best?

IE - Tools - Internet Options - Advanced - tab click on restore, and then click Reset - apply / OK

IE - Tools - Internet Options - Security tab - click on reset all default areas - apply / OK

Close and restart IE or IE with no addons

    not better?

IE - tools - manage Addons (for sure disable SSV2 if she's here, it is no longer necessary but Java
installs and it causes more questions - have you never update Java to go back in and turn it off again.) Search
    other possible problems.

Windows Defender - tools - software explore - look for problems with programs that do not look
right. Allowed are usually OK and "unauthorized" are not always bad. If doubt about a program
    ask about it here.

Could not be a free - SpyBHOremover - BHO - standalone program, needs no installation, download.
unzip and run - all are not bad, but some can cause your question (toolbars are BHO).
