HP business inkjet 1100dtn how choose the paper tray + stop printing calib random pages.

Hello. After I finally got my 9 year old HP business inkjet 1100dtn to start printing with 8 years, print heads who threw coward (printer output) for the past 2 years last night, progress post it here:

http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/Ink-toner-cartridge-printhead/HP-business-inkjet-1100dtn-first-wouldn-t...

Now I wonder how I can choose which paper tray to print from. Since I use Windows 7 and you must use the driver for hp business inkjet 1000, I guess that the problem here? Someone else you have a solution or better another driver which works better?

In addition, the printer keeps print calibration pages after each printing I do. The print quality is still not 100%, if only he keeps trying to calibrate because the calibrationpage it prints is of too poor quality?

Any help would be appreciated.

Ben of the Norway.

I tried the driver for the Microsoft 1200dtn instead of the 1000dtn that HP has suggested. Now everything works. Duplex, tray selection, etc. Good times. :-D

  • Can't choose the paper tray

I just got a 6520, using Windows 7 Home Premium.  I use Microsoft Office Picture Manager to edit and print images.  The 6520 installed very well even printed a photo of test using an image from my computer and everything done on paper 4 x 6 in the upper plateau.  When I try and print Picture Manager, she prays for printer and paper type.  I selects HP 4 x 6 paper, but when I print it out on paper in the lower tray.  HP 4 x 6 is in the top tray.  I found some info in the support FAQ section that says to remove the paper from the lower bin, but everything that isn't generating "printer with paper.

I can't find anything in the user manual or online help on how I can choose with paper tray is in.

    Hello

The status bar must be configured in printing preferences.

While printing from Microsoft Office Picture Manager, you should see a Wizard for the wizard, click printing Preferenes to change these options.

Enter the paper/quality tab, be sure to set both the abnd there specific paper size tray.

Confirm the changes and close the wizard.

    Hello

Thanks for the post.  With it, we can have several questions the cause.  Type/paper weight, not enough paper in the tray, rollers which don't sting power or the remains of a previous paper jam.  I've included a pasted below document that can help with this and help refine the root cause.  Good luck!

  • HP 8630 will authorize specifying the second tray for printing shortcut.

All-in-one printer inkjet HP 8630 range Pro will not accept specifying the second tray for printing shortcut. Indicates that the parameter is a conflict and obliges the "Printer Auto Select" option instead of allowing me to select "tray 2" which is an option. I like to keep a white shining in tray one and photo paper in tray 2 and made the my HP 8500 Pro for everything that I needed to do is select the appropriate shortcut configured by me to print the photo. Operating system is windows XP Pro.

I want to start by apologizing for not picking up on this on your first post. The 8630 2nd tray print 8.5 x 11 or 8.5x14 paper.

The reason why what impression pictures he says that there is a conflict and if he chooses the main tray is because there is no choice. The printer does not have the ability to print photos from the 2nd drawer. If you're looking to load media into the trays you need 8.5x11 or 8.5x14 in the 2nd tray and other media can be loaded in the main tray.

In the printer's Specifications in paper output specifications > paper tray capacity & Supported sizes of paper in you shows what's available for trays.

Change the source of your document must make all the problems disappear.

  • Select the default tray when printing from MS Word or any other application HP OfficeJet 8610

    Hello

We have HP OfficeJet 8610 with additional tray. So, we have Tray1 and bac2. That's what I read in the specs of the printer about how we can use the bins:

    • Loaded into all of the paper trays and use paper from a tray if the other tray is empty
    • Loaded into all trays and paper of one of the bins first use
    • Be able to choose plain paper and another type of paper that you use occasionally

    My question is:

Let's say that we have put the tray 2 as the default tray.

In MS Word or any other application in layout, you can define special tray (say 1 tray) paper source. This means that the document should be printed on paper from the selected tray (Tray 1). But in our case, the document is always printed using paper from the default tray (tray 2).

Could you please confirm that this is the expected behavior?

    Thank you so much, Ana.

    Hi @AnaGligorijevic,

I understand that you want to be able to print the same document at different trays and change the setting via the Word software. This printer is not able to change the settings of the tray for different pages in the same document to multiple pages.

To work around this problem, you can use the parameter to "print pages." "Select it print pages selected, then for other pages ' print pages" yet once and then change the parameters of the status bar of the application.

The application, you can change the settings of the tray for 1 page or a multiple page document. But it will print all pages of the specified tray.

Hope that makes sense. Thank you!

  • No more problems! Business inkjet 1100dtn

Having again (thanks Microsoft!) with my B110 does not print wireless! BUT think after MANY hours of help from A VERY nice lady on the here and the staff of HP I know how to solve that one! BUT this news has me and several others totally stumped!

I have an old (Bit like me!) HP Business Inkjet 1100 dtn printer. I'VE had this computer running recently over/under Windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit. And removed to change things up a bit.

I plugged the printer back and and it won't print? Nothing else on except the table of the printer configuration is placed on? But the printer just won't work! I installed it on my Wifes running on XP machine and it works fine. So I thought hey ho I'll just the network... FAKE! I think the problem is that the drivers I need to install the printer on is a fix and the drivers are for the 1000 Business HP printer and so the network sees the printer as the 1000 and 1100 and therefore will not address the drivers? Just my thoughts?

But although I read I don't know how many papers and went to lots of forums for the life of me, I can't do the 1100 to print with the 1000 pilots and ceratinly not managed to network and again once I got it works on 32 bit Windows 7 computer? Someone at - it ideas I can try please? Before you start tearing out what little hair I have yet :-)

  • HP Business Inkjet 1100dtn first would not print at all, now prints black and magenta and cyan

    Hello world.

First of all I must say I spent most of the night reading the posts here, especially this one:

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/other-printing-questions/HP-Photosmart-C7280-black-ink-won-t-print/TD-p...

I find that a lot of people are frustrated, but I also find that a lot of people go a long way to help, which is nice. :-)

I bought a HP Business Inkjet 1100 DTN in 2004 or more and was extremely (!) satisfied with it. This is the best printer I've ever owned when it comes to value for money and durability. However, he was put away for a few years and a friend played with it to make it work. I think also, it has removed the print head and cartridges for awhile. This could possibly make the printheads, ink near the connectors and not dry out the cartridges?

Anyway, I got home yesterday, and the first think I did was soak the print head in warm water. I don't even bother try everything first. Also, I cleaned up the two electrical contacts for the print heads inside the printer and the print heads themselves. Finally, I used a dozen q-tips to clean ink residues near the two connectors for the cartridges and print heads.

After all this, I went for a clean full from Windows. The first testpage (power while pressing X on the printer dock) came out as expected... terrible. No black, not yellow, almost no cyan and some magenta.

I repeated soaking in hot water, only hotter this time (boucherit filled with water in the dish, then dip the lowest 3-4mm of each print head). Each of them sunk ink when I stirred the water so I was optimistic. Yet once, I ran a full cleaning of Windows and print a testpage (hold power while pressing X on the printer)

    Much better this time.

Now, I had about 50% yellow, which should have been there, 70% cyan, magenta to 90% and the text on the upper part was mostly black. Magenta has helped fill in some places where black does not.

However, right after cleaning with water or alcohol, it prints fine for maybe 1 testpage, then it is worse. Also I noticed that the black ink is very sticky, so I think he skipped over the years. I know that I can just buy a new set of ink, to make the power contained in the cartridges heads line and heads are full of old and thick ink. Even with heads printing, no need to buy new ones since the supply line is full of old and thick ink.

I also noticed that the supply line for the cartridges printheads have air bubbles in them. I see bubbles in the yellow and magenta lines, but the cyan and black are too dark to see. I guess that's a problem? I read that energetic cleaning combined with print between the two may over time to solve this problem, but I have to say that I did the cleanings at least 25 tonight and the bubbles are more or less on the same place. (I also notice some bubbles and marked their position). They move when the pump in the cartridges are being exploited, but coming back to the same place after. Almost as if the printheads does not accept ink, are blocked or have internal pressure which must be ventilated. (?)

So I guess I have to get a kanyle (not sure of the English word), remove the ink cartridge to suck little ink, and then remove the print head and inject the ink, I took the cartridge it is until the power line is free of bubbles also good and old ink. Then replace the cartridge and the head.

Am I mistaken or I think much too advanced?

Here are some of the testprints in the correct order. There are many others, but I downloaded the most important.

Note that yellow was there at the beginning, so also was the cyan. Now they are both almost gone again. I suspect than that to have something to do with air bubbles? I'm not sure. Magenta seems to be the only color as well. : PEI

I also tried the tip to the subject of bumping the cartridge (I did the same thing with the print heads) with no noticeable improvement. Also, I cleaned the rubber gasket on the black cartridge with a paperclip. Of course, he came out with ink, but it was sticky.

Please answer because I would really get this printer up and running again. :-)

    Ben of the Norway.

Hi again. Sorry for double posting, but I thought it deserved a post of its own.

After having tried everything last night (I worked at least 8 to 10 hours on the * beep * printer) I got so sick so I just took all the print heads and tempered 5mm lower them (side of the printhead) in hot water and let it just sit there for 2-3 hours. I had forgot about them when I went to bed. I cut them a bit and inserted into the printer, rand a clean and printed this:

The yellow one is still a little with rays, I guess that some nozzles are always blocked, but at least now I know the formidable powers of the hot water. :-)

  • How can I change the paper orientation when printing on Photos?

In the Photos on OSX El Capitan, I would like to print photos. I put them up to two print by page, but when I went to print, the paper was not portrait and landscape oriented as indicated in the overview. (screenshot below)

There seems to be no way to set the direction for the paper from Photos and no option in the print dialog box to change this. I looked up the other forum posts and proposed to set the default paper size in the printer setup... .mine shows 8.26 11.69 inches (A4), which should be the portrait.

Anyway I can change this so I can actually print photos on paper?

I could not the orientation to be changed but found a workaround.

    1. Select two photos to print], Option (right) - click on it and select rotate to the left in the menu.

  • Trying to create some grasses, but can't change my Green object after choosing the paper effect...

I am trying to create a realistic looking grass field using the 'Paper' effect to provide texture to my object.

I managed to give my texture of the object by selecting 'Paper', but I can't give it a green color.  No matter what I do, my object remains gray.

Is there a way I can change my object with green paper effect, it looks like a field of grass.

    Thank you!

You didn't say what version of Illustrator that you use.

In addition, if you look more closely at the Gallery of the effect, you may notice that there are thumbnails of preview bluish and greyish preview thumbnails. Bluish vignettes involve the current color (filling) is respected (for example, most of the time). Greyish tiles mean that the current (fill) color is not respected.

So, you can try and just use an effect similar to the effect of paper.
