  I would double check to make sure that the applications were not already installed by checking in the folder Applications (Mac) or the Start Menu (Windows)

  For Acrobat must be installed via Adobe Application Manager and the trial version must be removed with the uninstaller

  Uninstall Acrobat in Mac OS® X

  In Applications > utilities > Adobe Installers, select the program to uninstall Acrobat X and double-click it.

  Follow the instructions on the screen to uninstall Acrobat.

  In the authentication dialog box, type the user name and password for an administrator account, and click OK.

  Note: The uninstall program removes only the Adobe Acrobat X of the system files.  It does not remove the files Adobe Reader, Acrobat user data or files that are shared with other Adobe applications.

  (Optional) Move the Adobe PDF settings files that you created in the folder/Library/Application Support / Adobe PDF and drag the folder to the trash.
