How do I reset my macbook air?

I have an old air (2011) and I want to keep it as long as possible. I think I need to reset the computer and I canʻt don't forget the keys I have to press on at startup.

Restart with the order and R keys and continue from there. If the computer does not respond to this sequence, connect its original thumbdrive and press Option.

  • Can I reset my MacBook Air and restore the backup I made before to reduce others' storage space?

    Hello

so I have the 126 GB MacBook Air. My problem is that the other takes 87 GB!

So can I reset my laptop and restore the backup later like you do with iPhones to reduce the "other"?

I guess this could work, but I'm afraid something away...

I hope that there is someone who can help me!

    Thank you!

There is nothing necessarily wrong with 'other' as long it's documents, etc. that you need.

Make a backup and a restore just grow what you have now. I would not recommend it.

  • How can I reset my Macbook Pro without reinstallation disk?

I bought a Macbook Pro opportunity, but the seller has not provided the recovery disc. How can I reset my system? Can I change the apple ID and continue working?

Hi Paul, you can't edit the Apple ID and keep working, because the Mac is always on with Apple ID from the previous owner, which means, you will not be able to download updates, or to do something that requires an Apple ID.

The original owner should have wiped the hard drive and reinstalled the OS X.

You must erase the disc, or you will be forever stuck with his Apple ID and cannot upgrade, enter your Mac or use other features. Back up your data first. then follow the steps in this topic to Apple Support under "wipe your hard drive and reinstall OS X. It will be re - install the original operating system and you will upgrade to the latest operating system.
