  Hi belindawolfe, there is a file a high level called profiles.ini. After you have copied your old profile folder over to the new profile folder, you must add the name of the folder to profiles.ini in order to be able to use it.   Is there a way how can I use the Windows7 that came with my laptop and install this on my new drive!

  To my knowledge, I am not break everything right since Windows7 came with the laptop and was part of the price I paid for the laptop.

  Partitions or recovery discs do not work on a smaller hard drive.

  You need to install a simplified version of windows 7 on your SSD. You will not break the laws or rules of license by using the product key on the bottom of the PC to activate the installation.

  However, if you can not read all 25 characters of the product key you are flat out of luck and will have to buy a new operating system.

  Here's how to make your own simple Windows 7 installation disc if you have not already.

  If you can read the Microsoft windows 7 25-character product key, you can download simple Windows 7 ISO files to burn on a DVD for the version of windows that is installed on your PC, and which is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC case.

  Burn the ISO with the option to burn the ISO on your DVD burning program and burn it at the slowest possible speed that will allow your program. This will create a bootable DVD.

  Or use the installation of Windows 7 USB/DVD tool to compile the ISO file that you download from Digital River. Link and instructions below. You need a 4 GB flash drive to use the USB compilation method.

  To disable items 13, launch the editor and then go to the help-> disconnection.

  1. Yes, you can re - install Windows 8 on a different computer.  Before you re-install in another computer, please make sure that you remove Windows 8 to the computer that you have already installed software license terms Microsoft lets a copy must be installed on one computer only.
     To remove Windows 8 of the current computer, you must perform a clean installation of Windows 8. Install with previous operating system drive (Windows 7\ Vista\XP). This removes Windows 8 in the current computer and install the previous operating system.
     Note: You may lose all your data when you perform a new installation, so please back up all data before installing the previous operating system.
     Once you have removed Windows 8 from the current computer, download Windows 8 in the new computer and install. When installing, please provide the same license key that you used during your first installation of Windows 8. You can also find this key in the purchase confirmation email that you received.
  2. As your second question, Windows 8.1 will be a free update for users of Windows 8. Which means, you must have a version of Windows 8 in order to install Windows 8.1.   I think a better approach would just copy the shortcuts you want on the desktop if you don't normally have to use the start menu.  Do that simply click Start-> all programs and scroll to an entry that you want and do a right click.  Then click on COPY.  Right-click on an empty area of the desktop, and then click PASTE.  Voila, you have a shortcut on the desktop for this program.  You can do this with as many things as you want.

  If you start to remove things from the start menu, sooner or later you will find a need for them and have a concern for her.  You CAN sort the entries by name if you wish.  This is the default on my laptop.
