    Hi all
    I cloned my prod using RMAN.
    My Q is... y at - it no diff between cloned db, duplicate a database.
    If no diff let me know...
    If I cloned using this procedure to create a standby instance.

    Hello

    I mean you have a procedure to create a standby, and that copy of rman is part of it and in doubles.

    (1) make an rman backup
    Run {}
    allocate channel C1 type disk;
    backup database;
    ARCHIVELOG backup all;
    }

    (2) create a control file for the day before on the primary database:
    ALTER DATABASE CREATE STANDBY CONTROLFILE AS ' / oracle/local/data/backup/crunchs_controlfile.bkp2';

    (3) standby redo log is optional... (but recommend that you do)
    Example:
    ALTER DATABASE add STANDBY LOGFILE GROUP 11 ('+ DATPRTEST1', '+ FLAPRTEST1') size 50 M;
    ALTER DATABASE add STANDBY LOGFILE GROUP 12 ('+ DATPRTEST1', '+ FLAPRTEST1') size 50 M;
    ALTER DATABASE add STANDBY LOGFILE GROUP 13 ('+ DATPRTEST1', '+ FLAPRTEST1') size 50 M;
    ALTER DATABASE add STANDBY LOGFILE GROUP 14 ('+ DATPRTEST1', '+ FLAPRTEST1') size 50 M;
    SELECT GROUP #, THREAD #, SEQUENCE #, ARCHIVED, STATUS FROM V$ STANDBY_LOG;

    (4) change the file aprameter in the primary and standby

    Example:

    On the primary:

    change system db_name set = "crunch" scope = the two sid ='* ';
    ALTER system set db_unique_name = 'crunch' scope = the two sid ='* ';
    ALTER system set fal_client = crunch scope = the two sid ='* ';
    ALTER system set fal_server = crunch scope = the two sid ='* ';
    ALTER system set db_create_file_dest ='? ' scope = the two sid ='* ';
    ALTER system set db_recovery_file_dest = "?" scope = the two sid ='* ';
    ALTER system set log_archive_config = 'DG_CONFIG =(crunchs,crunch)' scope = the two sid ='* ';
    ALTER system set log_archive_dest_1 = USE_DB_RECOVERY_FILE_DEST VALID_FOR =(ALL_LOGFILES,ALL_ROLES) DB_UNIQUE_NAME = crunch scope RENTAL = the two sid ='* ';
    ALTER system set log_archive_dest_2 SERVICE is crunches. RVPONP. FGOV.BE VALID_FOR (ONLINE_LOGFILES, PRIMARY_ROLE) = OPTIONAL DB_UNIQUE_NAME = crunch scope = the two sid ='* ';
    ALTER system set log_archive_dest_state_2 reporter scope = the two sid ='* ';
    ALTER system set LOCATION = USE_DB_RECOVERY_FILE_DEST scope standby_archive_dest = the two sid ='* ';

    On autonomy in standby:

    change system db_name set = "crunch" scope = the two sid ='* ';
    ALTER system set db_unique_name = 'crunch' scope = the two sid ='* ';
    ALTER system set fal_client = crunch scope = the two sid ='* ';
    ALTER system set fal_server = crunch scope = the two sid ='* ';
    ALTER system set db_create_file_dest ='? ' scope = the two sid ='* ';
    ALTER system set db_recovery_file_dest = "?" scope = the two sid ='* ';
    ALTER system set log_archive_config = 'DG_CONFIG =(crunch,crunchs)' scope = the two sid ='* ';
    ALTER system set log_archive_dest_1 = USE_DB_RECOVERY_FILE_DEST VALID_FOR =(ALL_LOGFILES,ALL_ROLES) DB_UNIQUE_NAME = crunch scope RENTAL = the two sid ='* ';
    ALTER system set log_archive_dest_2 SERVICE is crunches. RVPONP. FGOV.BE VALID_FOR (ONLINE_LOGFILES, PRIMARY_ROLE) = OPTIONAL DB_UNIQUE_NAME = crunch scope = the two sid ='* ';
    ALTER system set log_archive_dest_state_2 reporter scope = the two sid ='* ';
    ALTER system set LOCATION = USE_DB_RECOVERY_FILE_DEST scope standby_archive_dest = the two sid ='* ';

    (5) copy us the password of the primary file and rename it to standby:
    /Oracle/product/10.2.0/DB/DBS

    Database standby departure not mounted
    sqlplus sys as sysdba
    startup nomount pfile='oracle/product/10.0.2/db/dbs/initcrunchs.ora';
    (or startup nomount; if the spfile exists before already)...

    Retrieve the eve of RMAN backup database
    . oraenv
    crunch

    RMAN nocatalog
    connection target sys /? @crunch
    connection Assistant sys /?
    target database duplicate for standby;

    Create a settings file server for database backup
    sqlplus sys as sysdba
    Create spfile from pfile;
    stop immediately;
    bootable media;

    Standby:
    ALTER DATABASE RECOVER MANAGED STANDBY BASE DISCONNECT FROM THE SESSION.
    Elementary school:
    ALTER system set log_archive_dest_state_2 = 'enable '.

    Up and running...

    Now you can after your copy and if the parameter files are both good, try:
    Standby:
    ALTER DATABASE RECOVER MANAGED STANDBY BASE DISCONNECT FROM THE SESSION.
    Elementary school:
    ALTER system set log_archive_dest_state_2 = 'enable '.

  • form how to do that in oracle 10g

    Hi all
    the shape of any idea on how to format a disk by using oracle 10g and stopping the remote pc and a home pc using oracle Forms 10g.
    I am using windows XP2 operating system.

    Please review...

    You must use client_host, not host. When you use host, you are trying to shut down the server!
    And what is "remotely shutting down the pc? You want to tell someone to another pc? If it's your own pc, does not remotely, but locally.

    You can try this first to see if the dialog box appears:
    client_host (' cmd/c shutdown-i');

  • Archiving logs apply frequency in Data Guard

    Dear all,

    How can we verify/set up the frequency archive newspapers should be applied to the Data Guard?

    Version: 10 g 2; OS: Windows 2003 R2 (64-bit).

    How we can configure the frequency of archive logs must be applied to the DG?

    Erase the question once more what you're expecing, as I understand, it's...

    It depends on the Redo genearation / Archive primary & network latency between primary databases & Eve.
    There is a configuration, you can change in the primary to put options such as delay , net_timeout and so on.

    consult this manual too.

  • logging into a database data

    For my thesis, I have a test bench that measures certain values and now I have to get in a database every two seconds (if it is possible and not difficult in MS Access or a text coupled with MS Access file). The additional problem is that I have to be able to run the database while the data connects. Can someone help me with the Please this problem, it is quiet urgent and I'm not familiar with LabView.

    You can use the Format function in the chain. It is one of the LabVIEW basic functions you need to be familiar with. With your existing insert and the example I posted, you not insert strings into the table. With SQL, is surrounded by a string of "brand. Just as you have around Austin.

  • Oracle 10g - Date in a SELECT for CFOUTPUT query format

    Hello, everyone.

    The project that I'm putting in the dev environment is connected to an Oracle 11 g server, but the production plan is Oracle 10 g.

    I have a page that is the mistake of production (but not development) when it is a date that she should display.

    A colleague mentioned that, in 10 g, if a time is selected, you will need to put in to_char(), so I did.

    But it is still a mistake, and I don't get an error message, so I'm assuming that I have a bad format for the date in the SELECT.

    What is the right format to select a time when using to_char()?  At the present time, I have SELECT to_char (create_date,'YYYY-MM-DD hh: mi ') FROM tableA .  Isn't this correct for CF to the exit?

    Thank you

    ^_^

    One afternoon, run SELECT to_char (sysdate,' DD/MM/YYYY HH: mi ') of double.  Then decide if you chose the mask suitable for hours.

  • How to connect to remote oracle (10g and 11g) db Unix and window

    Hi all
    Hopefully an easy one.

    I have two Linux RH configured oracle databases.
    I use spfiles not ora.init files
    I want to maintain the cleanliness of my db and so restrict access remote ones with nicknames known so that if something goes wrong, I can follow who/what/how the newspaper.

    I want to enable users to connect both via call remote sqlplus to Unix and Windows.

    Users must be able to emit a sqlplus user/pwd@host command and be taken to a connection on the server.

    Q is:
    Do I need on my server of the client/Oracle/Oraclelite/or access point what?

    Q2. Should what command I similar to what I mentioned above?

    Q3. Should I tnsnames.ora on each host in the customer?

    Any help would be good on this.

    Hi user633084!

    the minimum requirement is that you have installed Oracle Clienttools about all your customers. After that, you need to configure a tnsnames.ora on each client with the descriptors for each DB connection. The command to connect to the DB from the client is sqlplus username/password@sid.

    hope that helps

    your sincerely

  • Delete triggers in DAC to the Oracle apps data source

    Hey guys,.

    We use OLIVIER 7.9.6.1 and OBIEE 10.1.3.4.0. data source is Oracle apps 11.5.9.

    We had a problem in the report. drillthrough report 6 records where as source has only 4 records. Looks like 2 deleted source records and we have never implemented here delete triggers. I'm new to this project and don't know how to implement for the Oracle apps data source delete triggers. because there is no concept of picture table in oracle apps.

    I tried a full load of the fact table, and it is fetching 4 records as expected. so please tell me how to apply delete triggers for the oracle apps data source. explain the process step by step.

    Thank you for your help.

    Thank you
    Jay.

    You can follow the same EP and remove the mapping process that are out of the box for your custom tables. Make sure you include a DELETE_FLG on the custom tables and follows the same logic of PE and Delete is used in vanilla maps. You must have a primary key to check the records of if.which have been removed. Once you have the full mappings, you can set the DAC to assocaiated tasks and include them with your execution plans. As Oracle has followed this process, its best to stay w the same strategy.

  • Oracle 10g Rac (TAF)

    Hello
    I'm known for RAC env.
    How to implement TAF in oracle 10g RAC approx.
    and how do you know... and how conf (base & preconnect) services for which use them.
    Thank you
    KK

    Published by: user603328 on June 20, 2010 12:02

    Before you configure TAF, you should know about TAF

    If the instance fails, TAF allows applications to automatically reconnect to a different instance. The new connection will be identical to the original, but uncommitted, existing at the time of breaking transactions will be cancelled.

    TAF can be configured to perform two types of failover: session and selectwith the resumption of the session, any uncommitted transaction will be cancelled, and the session will be linked to another instance, with the resumption of the selection, uncommitted transactions will be cancelled, the second will be connected to another instance and any select statement that was running at the time of the breakup will be rerun by the sesion again using the same RCS and recoveries lines will be rejected upward until the original request has failed. The Select statement will continue return the remaining rows to the client.

    a TAF connection must be configured in the configuration file net tnsnames.oraOracle. In oracle 10.1 and higher, the DBCA services management page can generate appropriate TNS for the TAF entries.

    To configure the TAF, the TNS entry should include a FAILOVER mode clause that defines the properties of the recovery as follows,

    TYPE attribute defines the behavior as a result of a failure. Value: Session, select or none

    Attributes of the METHOD--> when connections are made to the failover. Value: base or preconnect

    ATTEMPTS--> number of times where a connection should be attempted before displaying an error.

    DELAY--> the time in seconds between each connection attempt.

  • Partitioning table in oracle 10g - how to add

    Hello friends,

    I hope you are all fine and great.

    In fact - I have a small question on oracle 10g partitioning of tables...

    I have a table with the partition below...

    CREATE TABLE X_ACC_ASSETS_GPC_AGG
    (
    X_ACC_ASSETS_GPC_AGG_RK NUMBER (10) NOT NULL,
    X_AS_OF_DT DATE NOT NULL,
    ACCOUNT_RK NUMBER (10) NOT NULL,
    X_UNIV_ACCOUNT_ID NUMBER (10),
    ACCOUNT_ID VARCHAR2 (10 BYTE),
    X_ASSET_TYPE_CD VARCHAR2 (6 BYTE),
    X_AUC_AMT NUMBER (18.5).
    X_FIRM_AMT NUMBER (18.5).
    X_ADJ_SRCE_AMT NUMBER (18.5).

    My question is:
    (1) how to add a partition to say P201201...
    Since I already said PARTITION PMAX can I still add partition?
    (2) can I add a partition even if the table contains data?

    ==========================
    I tried to add the partition... say

    ALTER TABLE X_ACC ADD PARTITION P201201 THE VALUES BELOW TO

    64K INITIALS
    MINEXTENTS 1
    MAXEXTENTS 2147483645
    DEFAULT USER_TABLES
    )

    but the error...
    "linked partition must gather greater than that of the last partition.

    Yes. With the help of DBMS_REDEFENITION, you can partition an existing table. Visit this link on how to do it.
