Windows 8 is not production (finished; released as final product, etc.) yet.

As far as Windows 7 is concerned, you must manually (do not rely on any software, including any made by Microsoft) check your current hardware and installed software are compatible with Windows 7.  follow these steps by making a list (model of the computer, each software package you have installed, the hardware you connect to the computer such as printers, scanners, cameras, etc.) and check the manufacturer's web page to see if they support this product at this level of version in Windows 7.  Chances are on your side, because it is a Vista machine.

    Youd

would then buy a version of Windows 7, you can use to pass any specific edition of Vista you have and that you upgrade.  It's quite simple initially, just insert the DVD and follow the directions.  You will need to download and install the most recent hardware drivers for each component material (many that you can go to HP for via your model computer support web page, but your devices will be elsewhere...)

    Hello:

It can be easily done by purchasing a version upgrade of Windows 7 retail box.

    Home Premium

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16832116713

    Pro

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16832116714

These packages contain a 32 and 64 bit version of the operating system.

The license may also be transferred to another PC who is eligible for an upgrade, unlike an OEM license.

The problem is having XP or Vista installed on the PC to use the disk.

  • How to manage upgrades to Windows 7 with Windows 10 installed?

So I have a fairly sophisticated question. My family computer is running Windows 7 Home Premium. I built my own PC game last Christmas and I installed the same version of Windows using the same product key. Since the free update of Windows 10 lance tomorrow, I have advanced and reserved my copy. Now, here's my problem: the version of Windows that I currently go to Windows 10 Home. Let's say I want to upgrade to Windows Pro 10. Currently, I'm lost on how should I do for this. I could go ahead and buy my own copy of Windows 7 Professional and install it and then upgrade to Windows Pro 10 or I could go ahead and install Windows 10 Home. But then after I have 10 Windows Home, how I would acquire Pro?

After 10 of Windows is installed, you can purchase an upgrade to Windows Pro 10.

The real problem is that you used the same product key Windows 7 Home on two computers. The rule is: a key = a single computer. You must either uninstall Windows 7 from one of the two computers (sooner or later, one of the two will move non-genuine)

If you want to keep it 7 on the family computer then the best thing to do is to buy Windows 7 Pro and install it on your PC gaming and then upgrade to Windows 10. Note that the only other versions of Windows 7 are OEM / System Builder versions that require a clean installation of Windows you will need to re - install your games and other applications.

    Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/microsoft-windows-7-8-software/b?ie=UTF8&node=1286119011

Another option would be to go directly to Windows 10 Pro by buying:

    Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2/175-5230408-0159517?url=search-alias%3Dsoftware&field-keywords=Windows+10

The version of a $200 more expensive th has advantage of being a 'Retail' version which means can be move to a new game system. OEM versions are related to the 1st motherboard they are installed on the.

  • How do I upgrade to Windows 7 Pro without reinstalling the operating system?

I have a client who is moving from a workgroup to a domain based network.  About half of the computers are Windows 7 Home edition.  I need to upgrade to Pro so I can join the domain.  I was not able to find an easy way to do it since Anytime Upgrade no longer works on Windows 7.  The only time I did, I had to by a free license key and ended up having to completely reinstall the operating system.  So, how can I switch to Win 7 Pro without reinstallation of the operating system or go to Windows 8.

I would like to ask something...

I have Acer PC which have an OEM Windows 7 Home Premium.
I want to improve the windows to the Pro Version of Windows 7.

I have the MAK FULL for Windows 7 Pro key.

do a job when I am upgrade OEM Win 7 Home to Profesiional using Windows Anytime Upgrade?

    Original title: good day

You cannot use a Windows 7 Pro [Multiple Activation Key - MAK] with Windows Anytime Upgrade. Distributions of Windows volume license do not support the Express upgrade.

Please note that the Express upgrade does not support OEM, MSDN-Academic, Volume License (license of the Faculty student). If you are in possession of all these brackets, you will need to save and do a custom clean install. If you want to do it, please backup your Windows 7 Home Premium or according to edition currently installed. Some licenses for Windows distributed to tertiary level students are not perpetual, which means that you cannot continue to use the software after a course or graduating.

You will need to get an Anytime Upgrade retail or consider making a custom clean install.

How to make an Express upgrade.

First of all, check that the edition of Windows 7, you are upgrading is already enabled (if it isn't, you will encounter complications and that you might start all by performing a clean installation). Click Start, type Anytime Upgrade, click the option to purchase a key. Wait while loading of the Express Upgrade page, click on the Windows 7 Professional Upgrade to buy it.

Click Next, fill in your details (it is important that you do this because the product key will be sent to you as a backup in case you need to reinstall) enter your credit card information, click next to begin the upgrade, wait while checking the key, accept the license agreement , click upgrade, wait while the software updates, (it may take 10 minutes or more, depending on the case, updates are required), your computer restarts automatically, after the reboot, Windows 7 will notify its update of the computer, the computer will restart once more automatically and will be completed the upgrade, a windows will pop up by notifying the upgrade was successful and your computer is ready to use, click Close, you should be upgraded to Windows 7 Professional, your files, programs and settings stored, proceed to activate Windows 7 Professional.

  • How to disable upgrade to Windows 10?

I'm N OT interested in going Windows 10, I love my Windows 7, want to know how to download the new updates to windows without Windows 7 to windows 10. Computer won't let me update unless I have install windows 10, amd, I don't want Windows 10 in all, where can I update my windows 7?

    Hello

What you need to do here first, is to change the way you receive updates. The automatic updates enabled, the operating system will reinstall the guest who is KB3035583 after uninstalling a step we will take in a minute.

    Then follow these steps:

    1. Right-click the icon of the center of the Action on the taskbar and go to "Windows Update".
    2. In the left menu, click on "change settings".
    3. Change automatic updates to "download updates but let me choose whether to install them".
    4. Click "Save Changes", then "Control Panel Home".
    5. Go to "Programs and features" and click on the link "View installed updates".
    6. Copy and paste KB3035583 in the high-field search right and when it appears below, right click and select "Uninstall". It's a great Setup uninstall can last several minutes.
    7. Then restart and then go back to Windows Update again.
    8. Since you now have different parameters of WU, click on the link if there is no waiting for your approval, which will bring you to the menu where you can decide what to install.
    9. If you see KB3035583 in the list, right click and select "hide update". The box you should checkmark to select an update will turn gray and when you exit WU, these files will be sent in the repository called "Restore hidden updates". You can restore the updates that have been hidden there at any time by clicking on the link, make your selection and click "restore".

The next step is to edit a registry that will prevent Windows 10 download and installation.

Press the Windows key + R to start the command run, type: regedit , and then click OK.

    Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE--> SOFTWARE--> Microsoft-->--> CurrentVersion--> WindowsUpdate Windows--> AutoUpdate--> OSUpgrade

Click the OSUpgrade key (which looks like a folder), and then in the right pane you should be able to see the four values respectively called:

    AllowOSUpgrade

    KickoffDownload

    KickoffSource

    OSUpgradeInteractive

Part or all of them will have a value of 1. You need to change those to 0 as you see in the screenshot.

To change a registry value, right-click and go to Edit. In the value field below, transform figure 1 0 a

Click OK and Windows will add the 0x00000000 (0) itself.

If it's already a 0 then you don't have to touch it.

In addition, you must create a value. To do this, right-click on an empty part of the right pane, and then choose new DWORD with the name DisableOSUpgrade-->.  Windows will add REG_ DWORD early, after it is created.

If inadvertently, you lose the highlight when you create the new value, right click and select Rename.

Then, right-click of your new value and go to edit. Change the 0 value in a 1 in the value field. Click OK to confirm and exit.

Reboot, then go to Windows updates. You will now be able to install updates 8.1 without being hassled by Windows 10.

  • How can I upgrade to 10 64-bit Windows?

    Hello

I have a Travelmate B115-M and I upgraded from Windows Pro 8.1 to Windows 10. The problem is that it automatically upgraded to 10 32-bit Windows. The drivers from the Acer website are all 64 bits. I tried 2 times, the second time, do a clean install, but now I can't go back to 8.1 for Windows because it doesn't show the option anymore.

So, how can I upgrade from Windows 10 32-bit on Windows 64-bit?

    Thanks in advance,

    John Lewis

Well, finally I've upgraded to 64-bit Windows 10. The solution was to go to the Windows website and choose the option to install on another PC, downloaded the file on a USB key and do a clean install.
