  Here's what I recommend you do:

  1 disable UAC. Down comes the restrictions - turn it off completely.
  2 restart your computer for the change to take effect.
  3 re - download the update of security for Microsoft Office System 2007 (KB982331) from the link below:
  http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=7f89a734-cda4-4abb-9a10-f6dfe560e8d0&displaylang=en
  4. install. It should work fine.
  5. If it still does not work, try to open all or part of your MS Office applications (such as MS Word, MS Excel, etc.).

  The file to be downloaded and installed is called SubInACL.exe and can be downloaded from this web site

  If you attempted to install the Office Update 'today', when the research is completed, look for a log dated with today's date. Open and he will tell you in the first line the registry key was the cause of the problem.
   
  When you create your "batch" file, you can include the registry (as shown) or you can just correct the set of registry keys as described in the file msi*.log. personally, I would "fix" all of the registry.

• HELP: error code 800b0100 when you run the KB981332 update

  I am bang of ideas on it - have been trawling the foums, connected issues with HP and MS and all without success so far. Other updates seem to run OK.

  I have fairly new CPQ Presario notebook with factory version Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit preset with the trial versions of Norton Internet security and online backup. I deleted the backup utility and modernized purchased NIS 2010 edition.

  Latest updates installed successfully are KB971468, KB972270, KB974431 (35 listed) etc.

  As I don't have an OEM CD or DVD as a set of HP Recovery DVD. I seem to have only 1 option, or so say MS supports, namely restoring in the construction of the plant and start over. Needless to say, I don't want to do that.

  I tried a lot of things probably too many to mention including CFS, deleting the SoftwareDsitribution files. removal of NOrton (removal tool) etc. Am desperate for more help - surely to goodness it is possible to fix this without wiping everything.

  I tried to install this update for over a month now and get the same error every time. I have read discussions on this error code and other problems for other users with office and Norton. I get only this problem for this updated one day and I'm not under Office or Norton (I have Trend Micro) on a Vista laptop.

The problem go away, and I was able to download the Microsoft Update. "Windows update also works now, and Mozilla Firefox does not display the"URL not FOUND"or: INVALID URL ', and he stopped this regular cliqueti sound from my laptop. Internet Explorer stopped showing double the home page windows, when the download window comes out. I was really impressed! Trend Micro Pro, malwarebytes and ExterminateIt, and others of CNET has failed!
