How do you delete old backups of Windows Vista?

I've been back up my Vista box by using Backup complete PC for quite a while now, and I was wondering how it is that you remove older backups when your backup disk is in full for another backup.

Recently, I received the following error message:

> The backup did not complete
> successfully.
>
> An error has occurred.  What follows
> information might help you solve the
> error:
>
> There is not enough space to save the
> backup files.  Free up disk space or
> change your backup settings.
> (0 x 81000005)

I see nothing in the settings for the backup to change that.  I need to mount the backup to delete an old backup?  If so, where is this file which is located?

Change backup settings means by selecting another type of backup that does not have a lot of space and you do not want to.  The backups on the backup drive are labeled with dates.  Just go to it and select the oldest and don't remove it as you would any other folder.  This should give you enough space to make the new backup.  If it isn't, then delete the next oldest backup, and then try again.

I hope this helps.

  • How can I delete old backups made with backup?

The software that I use at home for backup allows me to program it so that I keep only full backups n.  It deletes the oldest backup automatically performed after the backup complete n + 1.

At work, I have to use the backup utility that comes with XP Pro.  I was unable to find a way to delete older backups even manually.  As a result, my backup disk is almost full.  Although I really like the automatic deletion that makes my home software, I would be perfectly happy if I could manually delete any backups older than the nth backup complete.

Is there somehow in the backup utility to remove these old backups?  If Yes, can someone describe how make it?  Thank you.

    Hi tochjo,

NTBACKUP does NOT contain functionality to do this automatically.

If you are looking for *. The BKF files and sort by date. Subsequently, remove files from your computer.

    Hello by

The entire display is confusing somehow. I have to say that you must tell us which model of laptop you have exactly.
Anyway, here, many made to better understand:
-New notebook models are supplied without recovery Toshiba DVD
-Recovery image is saved in the folder called HDDRecovery on the second partition and partition hidden with recovery image doesn't exist
-It is recommended to create own recovery and therefor DVD, Toshiba has designed little tool called "Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator"
-You can start "Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator", using the shortcut placed on the desktop (factory State)

So to help you please let us know what model of laptop do, you must, folder HDDRecovery is on second partition available and still using the factory settings?

Click on the Start button and type capture in the search box menu star. The cutting tool application should appear at the top of the search results.

As the cutting tool is an integral part of Windows, you might have to reinstall windows to return to the tool. Assuming, of course, you had accidentally deleted.
