How downgrade from Windows 7 to Vista?

I have windows 7 on this computer, can I download Vista online on a disk to reinstall on another computer

* original title - trying to fix another computer *.

Hello

There is no available free and legal Vista download

Here are the different ways to reinstall vista on another computer

Contact the manufacturer of the computer if vista is pre-installed on the other computer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

they do it for a nominal cost of $

also ask them if you have a recovery partition on that drive to be given to the way in which you bought

you would normally press F10 or F11 or Alt + F10, 0 at startup to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

Ask them of the exact key sequence

or borrow a microsoft dvd vista

Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

they contain all versions of vista

This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

    Hello

    To install windows XP on windows 7, you need to start your computer while the cd is in the drive. This will allow the system prompts you to "Press any key to boot from the CD-ROM.." and then follow the instructions accordingly.

    Ok. You have not provided this information before. So my previous post was a waste of time. You will need to buy HP recovery media. If you are available and active recovery media recover image factory, it would be to delete and recreate the partitions on the boot only disc not the secondary hard drive.

    Hi Mikey,

    Please write us with the following details.

    1. What version of Windows 8 you have installed on your computer?
    2. Why would you downgrade to Windows 7? What problem are you having with Windows 8?

    To descend from one operating system to another you are unable to perform a restore of the system as the operating system restore points will not have another operating system. You must install a new copy of Windows. In this case, you have installed Windows 8 on your computer and now you want to downgrade to Windows 7, I suggest you contact your manufacturer regarding this issue.

  • Downgrade from Windows 7 to vista?

    I've heard say that if you buy Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit you can it downgrade to Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit, up to what you want to switch back and use Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. It would be useful for me because I run Avid Media Composer, and it is licensed to run on Vista Ultimate 64 bit at the moment. So if this was true then it save me buy vista and I could just buy Windows 7 up to greedy approved windows 7 for Avid Media Composer running. I really need an official answer to this question.

    Thank you

    You heard wrong (unless the manufacturer of the computer tells you otherwise).

  • downgrade from windows 7 to vista home basic. Oh hp laptop

    I bought the computer hp laptop dv5 recently the config. is 3 GB of ram, 250 GB HDD, processor turion, ati radeon HD3450 & card mother amd. I have the query that, initially, the operating system installed on my machine was vista home basic 32-bit. then after I've updated in windows 7 RC1 now I want to downgrade in Vista Home Basic Edition again. can u tell me the ways on how to do with this thing. my need is I want a downgrade frm 7 to vista home basic and I don't want to do a clean install of Vista Home Basic, because I have my entire data on drive c. ND it's hard for me to backup large amounts of data. I have also 2 discs of recovery came with my laptop. In addition to this, please tell me if I can move from 32-bit vista to 64-bit according to the config. given above.

    You must do a clean install to Windows Vista Home Basic to Windows 7.

    External hard drives are a good way to back up large volumes of data

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Vista 32-bit to 64-bit Vista is NOT an upgrade path.
    You will need to BUY a FULL 64 bit Vista operating system version and do a CLEAN install of it.
    Ask the manufacturer of your computer are them, 64-bit versions of Vista support in your model of laptop.
  • How downgrade from Windows 7 Starter to assessment Preview of Windows 8 consumer
    I have a HP Mini, #ABA WH860UA provided with Windows 7 Starter. I installed Windows 8 consumer Preview copy evaluation about 8 months ago and tried to get it back to Win 7 since. Now, I get messages my liscense expires in a few days. Is there a link somewhere that will let me download Windows 7 Starter, if I have my product key?
    Everything THAT wants me to 'upgrade' to Win 8 Pro. Thank you, but no. My Mini cannot hold. I want to just 7 starter return.
    Help?
    BTW... I'm the 'poor' poor rich man... My mini will be a paper weight large format, if I can't find a link to download from.
    You'd be better off using a disk win 7 of someone you know and make a copy for future use.
    I hope that you realize that a download of this size is more than 3 GB in size.
    Its more easy and faster to borrow an and use your key.
  • How downgrade from Windows 8 for Windows 7
    I actually have this as an upgrade but good. If I format the C: drive to install the new OS will be the also deleted recovery partition?
    You don't have to just delete and format the primary partition and install.
    However, I just deleted all and regained the space. I've never used a recovery partition, and if you are able to install a new OS that is lost?
    Boot from the Windows Vista DVD
    To learn how to change your BIOS options to boot from the DVD drive, the following tutorial:
    Click Install now
    Accept the license agreement
    When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)
    Select the disk partition where you want to install Windows Vista click Next.
    You will receive the following warning:
    The partition you have selected may contain files from a previous Installation of Windows. If so, these files and folders will be moved to a folder named Windows.old. You will be able to access the information in Windows.old, but you will be able to use your previous version of Windows.
    (At all costs, do NOT click on anything in Format, deletion or Partition name.) So even do a custom installation, your personal files are still kept. Click OK
    Once the installation is complete, you can complete the Out of Box experience as the choice of your laptop, create a username, password, your time zone. You can then proceed to download the latest updates for Windows and reinstall your applications and drivers.
    You can then retrieve your personal files from the Windows.old folder and reinstall all of your applications and drivers.
  • Downgrade from Windows 8 to 7
    Please list the steps. It was not a recent change.
    Hello Meade,
    Thanks for posting your question on the Microsoft community.
    Thank you for details on the issue.
    I also like the fact you want to downgrade to Windows 8 to 7.
    Your downgrade Windows 8 an earlier version of Windows depends as well on Windows 8 version you have and the method by which you got Windows 8. Not all editions of Windows provide downgrade rights. If you have right to demotion and decide to use them, you continue to keep the licence and the rights of use for your original version and can 'upgrade' to the rear at any time.
    I suggest you to refer to this article and check if it helps.
    Reference:
    How downgrade from Windows 8
    https://support.Microsoft.com/en-us/KB/2832566
    Important notes:
    BIOS change / semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.
    I strongly recommend that you back up all your important files and folders on an external storage device before performing any type of BONE repair, upgrade, downgrade, or resettlement. You may lose all the programs installed, you may need to reinstall.
    I hope this information helps.
    Please let us know if you need more help.
  • Downgrade from Windows 7 to Windows Vista
    Hello
    I want to ask something about the downgrade from Windows 7 to Windows Vista Edition Home Premium!
    My laptop is Satellite L510. When I bought it, it came with Windows Vista Home Premium as its OS so I already created a recovery disk.
    Now, if I update to Windows 7 and if I want to downgrade to window Vista... often I just use this recovery disc to format to Windows Vista everything as before?
    Because they do not have the Windows Vista installation disk when I bought this laptop.
    And I want to ask now the window Vista already got a healthy recovery partition in my right HDdrive? If I update to Windows 7 then did the Window Vista healthy recovery partition is still there, or only the restore disc that I create before you reformat Windows Vista Home Premium box?
    Thanks to all who try to answer my question!
    All new laptops are shipped without DVD upgraders and everyone must create one. This is why Toshiba has designed small Creator called Toshiba Recovery tool. With this tool you can create recovery DVDs and use them for the installation of the OS more far.
    Whenever when you use, you'll have to factory settings and it will be like on the first day when launch you for the first time.
    When you have this recovery media, you can do whatever you want and, of course, install Win7 with HARD drive. One day, when you want to have Vista again just use created recovery DVD and you will have factory again.
    When you bought your laptop recovery image was recorded on the second partition of HARD drive in the folder called HDDRecovery. This image can be used to install Vista with the factory only settings. When you install Win7 these files can no longer be used and Vista must be installed from recovery created DVDs.
