How existing health SSD

I'm using Macbook Pro 2011 15 "." I can replace the old new SSD HARD drive, there is nothing to do or not to do or takecare of it to existing, it is the health

There is nothing special you should or could do. This is a completely electronic device. It doesn't have 'sold out' as a mechanical drive.

Just use your MacBook normally.

  • M800: How to add SSD (for an existing HARD disk)

    Hello

I currently have an old Thinkpad T400 having an SSD inside. The SSD has been installed there maybe 2 years ago, but now I'm upgrading to a desktop M800. I ordered the M800 with cheaper hard drive with the plan to migrate my current SSD in it. But I was wondering if there is a procedure that I follow for what happens once the hard drive is physically installed. Is there a document somewhere online or an easy way for all it? Or is it more like a recovery by using the tool of Windows Media and then comes the installation of Windows on the SSD and then go online and start to download drivers one by one?

    Thank you

You order your M800 Office with the 2nd disc vacuum hook pre-installed blue plastic?  If so, you just take your SSD 2.5 "of the T400 and wrap clamp empty blue plastic delivered by the M800 around it and put back the final cut in the 2nd cage of readers of the M800.  Now, he is physically installed.

Then, since the two physical disks are now available at the same time and the M800 with HARD drive spinner delivered will be Win7/Win10 pre-installed on the HARD drive cone, you can simply use Macrium reflect free (or similar product) installed in operational windows from the spinner of HARD drive to clone windows delivered pre-installed HARD drive spinner on to the SSD.

Then re - start and stop to enter the configuration of the BIOS of the M800 utility and change the start-up boot sequence to display the SSD as the first drive hard (you can exclude the spinner of the disk in the list, since you are not going to use it to start again).  Save and exit the BIOS Setup utility and re-boot, which should take place now of the SSD (running the provided Lenovo delivered Windows that you just cloned from the spinner of the HDD to the SSD).

You should now be initialized and operational of the SSD, and you can confirm that the SSD should be C and other partitions (on the spinner HDD) D and higher.

Now, you can use Partition Wizard free to remove all partitions on the HARD drive, to re-purpose spinner it as a 2nd disc of 'data '.  You can also then Partition Wizard allows you to create new partitions on the HARD drive cone that you can use for anything you want (for example to perform backups regular image/data from SSD to target folders on the spinner HDD backup).

There is really no reason to "start from scratch" installation of Windows on a target freshly wiping SSD and then having to download/install all drivers provided by Lenovo and software for the M800.  Why waste your time?  Just clone the delivered spinner of the disk HARD Windows through to the SSD, delete the contents of the Pan from HARD drive, create 'data' or the partitions on the HARD drive cone and use it.

You now have a work M800 2 discs (with additional 'data' or the partitions on spinner SSD or HARD drive).

As you probably know, there are some Windows features (for example "weekly defrag") that should NOT be run on an SSD, even if they are enabled by default on a Windows HARD drive spinner.  If you install Windows from scratch on an SSD, these would have been auto-optimisé to you by the Windows Installer, but this is not how you got here (since you used the spinner provided by Lenovo Windows disk cloning).  So when you clone HARD drive spinner Windows more SSD you must then manually "twist" a few things in Windows to optimize performance specially for SSDS.

Just a quick search online for "optimize Windows for SSD" will give you the standard set of tweaking recommendations accepted.  There will be differing opinions, but the important thing here is that your cloned windows now running on the SSD was initially installed on HARD drive spinner, no SSD, so automatically installed SSD optimizations were not initially defined.

  • How much storage SSD drive iMac molten?

    Hi all

I am considering buying an iMac to replace my old MacBook Pro, and I was planning on getting to the fuser unit.  However, I discovered that in October 2015, Apple has downgraded the SSD in the 1 TB Fusion road for 128 GB to 24 GB iMac.

    So my question is twofold:

    (1) is the Fusion Drive 1 TB iMac has always only 24 GB of storage in the SSD?

    (2) what is the SSD in the Fusion Drive 2 TB iMac?

I tried Googling for any new information, but what I find is October 2015, and Apple just says that people who buy the iMac 1 TB or 2 TB drive of Fusion can upgrade their SSDS up to 256 GB, without saying what is included by default.

    Thank you very much!

    Rachel

See quote below. (This is from the link "how much storage is right for you?" in the section of storage on the following page: http://www.apple.com/shop/buy-mac/imac?product=MK142LL/A & step = config )

Merge to disk 1 pairs of a hard disk of 1 TB with 24 GB of quick flash - enough to store files of OS X and applications in order to ensure a quick start, near wake instant sleep and quick application launch, with room remains for the most frequently used files and important applications. 2 to and 3 to pair of Fusion results in a hard drive more than 128GB of quick flash storage, offering even more space for your most frequently from the files used. For best performance, systems iMac with 32 GB of memory must be configured with a 2 to big merger or any flash storage.

How can I replace the SSD by a standard HDD? Toshiba has used connectors in the R700-172.

    Hi tron.

Can you post a screenshot of this special connector?

AFAIK all SSDS on the market have the same connector, it s SATA port so that I can t imagine that you are not able to install a normal HARD drive, because they have the same port SATA SSD.

  • L50-B-2FH satellite: how update of SSD?

    Hello

I want to upgrade my laptop by replacing the built-in SSD existing (THNSNJ256GMCU) by a more large (for example Samsung 850 Pro or Evo). What soccet is installed on the motherboard (mSATA or SATA)? What drives could mount mechanical size-perspective? It will be possible to add a Samsung 850 Pro series as these discs are available with SATA only (no mSATA).

    Thank you.

As I am not mistaken the laptop was equipped with a 256GB SSD MSATA module.
The laptop supports the SATA controller and connector... so the mSATA SSD drive is mounted to a COMMITTEE of EXCHANGE which allows to connect the mSATA SSD to common SATA controller.

  • How laod OS SSD

I have a Lenovo Y 500. Its a good laptop with a moderate speed. I realized that the operating system is loaded on the hard drive. Tried to start it to trhe SSD, but I can't go in the Bios Setup to work on it. He asks a password that I don't know. I bought this laptop about a month ago... Can someone please tell me how to reset the Bios password and tell me the ways how to install the Windows SSD?

    Hello

Performance not get touched I would say.

Speed I think will not be compromised, as the HARD disk loading is firstly the right configuration.

Initial configuration of this is that the hard disk caching of the SSD to gain more speed. No speed or performance problem is going to get hit.

    Hope this helps

  • How to add SSD for Optiplex 755 (Small Form Factor)

    Hi-

I want to add a SSD for my Optiplex 755 (Small Form Factor) boot drive while maintaining the HARD disk it came with and the player optical slimline. There is a SATA port on the motherboard, but there is no open Bay and not a lot of room in the chassis (I do not see a power open cable).

Anyone know how or if I can add a SSD to 2.5 inches to this machine? Would need a power splitter? And it's even bothered to improve an Optiplex 755-10 Windows?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

    -Lewis

Adding a drive in the optical Bay is possible.  But you cannot run without the original hard disk on the desktop SFF and ULTRA-COMPACT models.

You will get an error message on the thermal characteristics of the drive.

SSD on SFF and USFF support have a problem due to heat dissipation.  The hard drive if not acknowledged will give an error, press F1 to continue.

    BIOS errors are;

  • Desktop HP ENVY Phoenix 860VX: how to replace ssd boot drive in a desktop HP ENVY Phoenix 860VX?

I bought a desktop computer HP ENVY Phoenix 860VX with an SSD of 256 GB of disk as a boot disk with a disk of 1 TB storage.  I have a Samsung Evo Pro 500 GB SSD I want to use as the startup disk.  I cloned the original drive to the Samsung Evo without problem.  I opened the PC folder to move hard disks, and I can't find the SSD drive.  I found the pretty easy storage of 1 TB drive but cannot find the SSD drive.  Can anyone help?

    Greetings,

You can have a PCIe M.2 (Non - SED) Solid State Drive 256Go.

This drive connects to the motherboard, it's the size of a stick of gum.

It can be mounted vertically or stand flat on the motherboard (MB).

M2 the drive is much faster than an SATA 3 SSD.  You may not be happy with this change if you bought a SATA 3 SSD. You might be better off going to a 512 GB m2 if the MB supports. I noticed that the m2 drive runs closer to the rated speed when using a k i7 - 5930 or an i7-5960 x due to the track of 40 PCIe bus as opposed to 28 tracks on the i7-5820 k.

It should be close to the PCIe slots. ASRock, Asus and Gigabyte locate M.2 slots here as it connects with the bus PCIe x 16 and uses the bandwidth of one of the 16 slots x.

If this is true, install the SATA SSD in the available Bay HHD using an adapter 2.5 inches. Then change the default boot device in the BIOS for the SATA SSD. You may need to experiment on what SATA port you use. EFI can be finicky. It is also possible that you may have to reinstall the original image. I have an Asrock x 99 card in m.2. Asrock BIOS is much more forgiving and configurable. I'm not familiar with MB of your PC or the boot configuration options available during the passage of a m2 boot device to a boot SATA device.

This change of equipment could also ruin to restore the PC using the original image. It depends on whether this change of equipment is a configurable option to purchase.

    See you soon!

  • HP Envy 17-3000 (3D) - replace internal 80 GB SSD? (or change the boot order?)

My Envy 17 - 3xxx (3D) has a 80 GB SSD as boot/OS drive and a 1 TB HARD drive as secondary.  I would replace the 80 GB SSD with a 500 GB new and faster SSD.  I cloned the SSD existing to the new device, all good.

However, I * physically cant just find the (existing) primary SSD drive *.  I took the back cover off, the two additional drive bays are here, I looked under the battery, CDROM, etc.  Clues?  I hope that if I just share, I'll be set.

Otherwise, I could leave the existing 80 GB SSD in there * if I could figure out how to set the boot devices order *.  Currently, the BIOS allows me to internal versus external rather than network vs CDROM as classes start command, but not the individual devices.  Clues?

    Thank you!!!

If you get the 3.0 mSATA adapter usb like this:

    http://www.Amazon.com/ZTC-enclosure-adapter-SuperSpeed-ZTC-EN002/DP/B00I4701O6/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&QID=1410222318&SR=8-2&keywords=USB+to+mSATA

wost case you can use the mSATA as a very fast player. That's what I found myself doing with my WSSD, after I bought a 500 GB SSD for laptop. I could just NTO find any other product uses for it.

If please do after back and let us know how it works because it's still a bit of a dunkelfeld for HP laptops.

  • Import of an opera with 3 cd but iTunes stores between them and combine them in an opera. How can I fix?

I want to import an opera 3 CD into my iTunes. But iTunes pgm store separately and not combined with an opera. How can I fix?

There are things you can do to change the tags that control the sorting, but also to change how existing tags to actually sort on the screen. A first guess, I suspect that your CD Rip themselves with a number of CDs as part of the name of the album and making sure that all 3 pictures have one name will bring them to the boot of all.

Quick response: select all the tracks on the album, file > info (or right-click > news > Details) and give them all a single "album artist", or check the indicator of "compilation" (as in https://discussions.apple.com/message/17670085#17670085).

If they are several CD sets, you will also need to enter the appropriate information in the fields of number of disk.  If they are not a set of multiple CDs that you must always make sure any vacuum or disc number fields are properly defined.

    Another explanation of hhgttg27 August 2015 - https://discussions.apple.com/message/27784417#27784417

If they won't even really check this August 2008 post by turingtest2 group temporarily change labels - https://discussions.apple.com/message/7904806#7904806 or http://www.samsoft.org.uk/iTunes/merge.asp - it works often but I have had cases where securities combined when a letter has been added but divorced when he was kidnapped again.

If they are mp3 files are trying to change the version of the ID3 tag, which can cause iTunes to re - write the tags and clarify inconsistencies.  I use iTunes 7.5 (Yes, from 2007) so I can't tell you where it is in later versions.

I had a case of grouping stubborn reality.  The tracks will be re-group in a way that has no meaning when I changed metadata.  Without going into details, I deleted tracks iTunes completely, then add the files and they are all grouped together correctly.

  • I GB SSD RAID or get an external SSD?

So that the people of the community of Apple, I'm a video editor that has a lack of glorious space on my internal 1 TB SSD. I can't remove a big part, so I'm torn to choose whether I should RAID or GB external SSD? The two I know are probably very good for speed, which is perfect.

However, RAID could rekt me on if something goes wrong, (IE; 1 drive failure = all gone.) But nobody knows how good external SSD are?

    That's what I've been looking at: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-Portable-External-Solid-State/dp/B00SGW5ZX6/ref= sr_1_1? s = computers & ie = UTF8 & qid = 1456417618 & sr = 1-1 & keywords = external ssd +

    Thank you very much, Appletons

External SSD is fast. Faster than USB 3 external drives.

But for your application, why not just invest in maybe a disc USB 3 to 2 to and unloading / archive files on your internal SSD flash drive to the external drive that you wouldn't have access to a large part?

220 X requires a SSD/HDD of 7 mm. Vertex2/3 are 9.5 mm. Some have received them to adapt, but you cannot use the support provided with him and some had to take off keyboard, etc...

It is not an easy adjustment.

There is no 7mm SSD a lot there, one of them is Intel 320 series (sata2), and there are a few like Micron C4, Crucial C300 SATA3, I think that a new 830 Samsung is also 7mm...

Some have a spacer that you can remove, but it voids the warranty on some units.

Make sure you find a 7mm.
