L50-B-2FH satellite: how update of SSD?

Hello

I want to upgrade my laptop by replacing the built-in SSD existing (THNSNJ256GMCU) by a more large (for example Samsung 850 Pro or Evo). What soccet is installed on the motherboard (mSATA or SATA)? What drives could mount mechanical size-perspective? It will be possible to add a Samsung 850 Pro series as these discs are available with SATA only (no mSATA).

Thank you.

As I am not mistaken the laptop was equipped with a 256GB SSD MSATA module.
The laptop supports the SATA controller and connector... so the mSATA SSD drive is mounted to a COMMITTEE of EXCHANGE which allows to connect the mSATA SSD to common SATA controller.

  • Satellite L50-B-2FH - driver Windows 7 problems

    Hello

    I installed Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit SP1 on my new laptop L50-B-2FH - PSKTNE.

I also downloaded 64-bit drivers for Windows 7 from the Toshiba download page, but unfortunately the sound device and the WiFi/WLAN device do not work.

For Conexant audio driver it says it is correctly installed, but the speakers just click very slowly (they really don't work).

WLAN/Wifi does not work at all (no confirmation after installing the driver, no icon, no tool, the FN key Wifi does not react). I tried the three types of WLAN drivers, no one does not work. In Device Manager, it says that it is two PCI devices and device on a network not installed properly (the little yellow triangle icon).

Additinally, I should have an AMD Radeon graphics card, I think. but the pilot also shows an incorrect installation in the device manager after installation (installation says completed successfully). However, the Intel driver seems to work.

Why the AMD driver does not work?

Future prospects for all help! Marco

Before talking about possible compatible drivers, I would like to share with you interesting and useful information how to identify an unknown device:
    https://Forum.Toshiba.EU/showthread...unknown-device

This should help you to get more info on the device built into your notebook and choose the correct drivers.

    WLan:
I think that its Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160 module with Bluetooth support

You must install the driver Wlan Intel and Intel Bluetooth Filter Driver Package for the support of BT.

    Sound:
It need the Conexant chip and the driver must be compatible.
I recommend the tab control panel → → good reading
Here, the speakers should be set as default device.

Ensure that all patches from Windows 7 etc... update has been installed
In Device Manager, remove the HD Audio device and a controller high definition audio and then restart the laptop.

    GPU:
You are right; the device supports AMD Radeon M260 and the ATI driver should work.
If ATI GPU is not listed in the device properly Manager, then you should try to install the ATI driver in Device Manager by using the Advanced installation process that helps you to navigate to the driver folder that contains the files of the driver AT

The laptop has been preloaded with Win 8.1 System.

Have you changed anything in the configuration of the system?
Did you remove any Toshiba Software in the past?

Please check twice if the driver of Toshiba (to Win 8.1) system has been installed correctly!

If you have changed the system that is to say to Win 7, be sure to what Toshiba has added economic package for WIn 7 is installed!

It is very important, because both applications from Toshiba are essential to perform the update of the BIOS Toshiba

    Hello

I am a first user of this forum
It is a problem with my computer and don't know how to fix it.

My computer is a L50 A 1FK Satellite with Windows pre installed 8.1.

I'm not impressed with new Windows10 and I'm back on Windows 8.1.

What to do when I start to install a version of Linux Mint meadow look.
It is impractical to restart the computer to. Al dough BIOS is changed by marketing, that to look for start-ups to the USB. It does not work. If I try the same thing is happening with a live CD or DVD.
How can I make sure that there re-boot on the USB.

    As in advance,
    Rob (Wildspoor.nl)

    Hello

In order to boot from external sources (CD or USB port - flash memory stick), you need to disable startup secure in the BIOS.

There is also a startup mode option (UEFI).
In case the new (Linux) system would not support UEFI mode, you must change this mode of CSM.

  • L50-B-27N satellite PSKTQE - pilot page displays the wrong divers?

    Hello Forum,

    I bought a Satellite L50 B 27N with the short code PSKTQE.
I use this site to download the driver:
    http://www.Toshiba.de/innovation/Dow...jsp?service=de

Is it possible that there is the wrong display drivers?
For example the WiFi network is an Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160 and not a Broadcom/Atheros one.

If I install the graphics driver AMD I get the message that the driver has stopped working. I tried to install Blutooth and something else, but the number of damage not recognized in Device Manager does not drop. I think that the drivers do not correspond to the laptop.

Is there a list of what I need to download drivers, or what I'm looking for everything manually?

    Thank you

    Peter

The drivers are not wrong, but different L50 - B PSKTQE Satellite models could be fitted with different equipment; That is to say different WLan modules.

  • L50-B-1NM satellite - wifi only works near the router

Hi just bought this laptop for my daughter Toshiba L50-B-1NM 15.6 inches processor Ci3 4 GB 1 TB and wifi only works if he was sitting next to the router.

It will connect to the internet if the ethernet cable is connected, BUT for wifi, the laptop has been sitting almost touch the router. The rest of the House works well.

Please could you help me before I take it back to the shop and eventually making a fool of myself.

I'm really not good with technology so if you do not answer could you explain to me like a baby please ;) lol

Thank you very much, totally disappointed at the moment because it cost me a lot of money for it :(

    Hi maria,

I think you should consider a fact: the L50-B-1NM Satellite was equipped with an Intel 802.11ac + card agn combo Wifi/BT.

802.11 AC is a new WLan standard that isn't taken care of by all old WLan routers.
But of course, the standard 802.11 A / G or N must be supported by older devices correctly.

I think first of all you must check if the wireless performance question isn't related to energy saving settings. I guess during wifi problems, the laptop uses battery power
In this case we would use different power plan settings.

Please check the settings that are in the advanced within the current energy saving Central WLan power settings.

Where this doesn t help you solve the problem of WiFi signal weak, you should contact the authorized Toshiba maintainer to check the connection to the WLan antenna.

It may be possible that the antenna isn't properly connected, which is originally a weak WiFi signal.

Because the laptop is under warranty, it should be fix toll-free number.

    Satellite L50 - A - 1 DG

I would put my SSD in the PC and install win7 on it. But it does not work.

I try to put the SSD into the DVD rom adapter. It can not been recognized in the bios.

I tried to replace the SSD hard drive. Then the pc cannot start up. And I can't get into the bios or adjustment.

    Someone knows what's the problem?

    > I try to put the SSD into the DVD rom adapter. It can not been recognized in the bios.

This does not work with all models of laptops.
As far as I know that the laptop must support Slim Select Bay and the BIOS should also support this hardware option. But in your case, it doesn t.

One possible solution is the use of SOLID-STATE drive instead of the HARD disk.

You said that you are not able to access the BIOS after these updates.
Well, before you do this (a SSD drive connection) you should access the BIOS and must disable secure boot and must set the start mode MSC mode.

    The comments appreciated.

  • Updated by Satellite Pro L450 with SSD

Any advice on installing a SSD 128 GB in place and place of the hard drive, use this for the operating system (Windows 7) and put the old HDD in the optical drive slot to serve as storage.

Is this easy to do on this model, and a new facility would be wiser than cloning?

There is no files on the drive apart from the operating system that must be preserved - all documents etc. are on googledrive, dropbox and onedrive.

Adjustments will have to be made when you perform a new installation to keep the recovery on D files?

Earlier, I created a system restore disk - does that include Windows 7, or would I need to download it and get the license number.

Is it fairly easy to connect and use the USB "System Restore" to re - load Windows?

    Thanks for all the answers

It s a good idea to replace the HARD drive with SSD drive.
You will definitely get a boost huge performance.
I did these updates in the past, and my laptop runs a lot faster.

But the question is whether the HARD drive would be recognized by BIOS placed in ODD Bay.

To be honest I n don't know if this will be possible since the laptop does not support the special feature of selection-Bay. In the past, some other laptops Toshiba Tecra and Portege series supported these updates (HARD drive in the Bay of WEIRD) but I'm not very well on laptops Satellite m.

Of course, you can try these updates, but in the worst cases the HARD drive will not be recognized by the BIOS if you put in the ODD Bay

  • Satellite P750 (PSAY1A) - How update the recovery partition?

Now that I found out that using the recovery on a new HARD drive would create the recovery Partition... comes the question... How do I update the recovery partition.

My Toshiba Satellite P750 (PSAY1A-01Y022) the factory settings has 132 update of Windows that should be applied during the first pass. I had to run Windows update 4 times before she shows "up-to-date". Not to mention drivers Toshiba as well.

I also want to include some applications (Microsoft Office and other software and utilities)...
Overall, I spent 2 days just to bring it t the State I want in.
But I can't just access the recovery Partition (of the less any of this!)

If you look at disk management, the recovery Partition is not a Volume name and that the file system is empty. If I right click on the recovery partition... all I see is "Help" Option

I tried to assign a drive by using Diskpart letter... but it doesn't show much.
My guess is that it is GBT/EUFI.

Does anyone have experience updating the recovery Partition?

    > Now that I found out that using the recovery on a new HARD drive would create the recovery Partition... comes the question... How do I update the recovery partition.

What do you mean by update recovery partition?
The recovery partition should NOT be touched!

In which case you'd change the partition, the HARD drive recovery process could not be started!

Probably, you have not understood the meaning of such a HARD drive recovery procedure.
It's the option provided by Toshiba and the recovery of HARD drive allows you to establish the notebook to factory settings; on the same State as at the first day of the purchase.

    Hello Daniel,.

I'm a little confused about your message from Mr.
What do you mean with half of the bios is enough?
What s wrong with the BIOS?

The support from Toshiba said-> try a BIOS update.
On the Toshiba page, you can download the BIOS for Satellite A40.

It seems you didn't check the download page detailed because on this page you will find this statement:
    IOS http://eu.Computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/FAQ.jsp?z=234&service=eu&from=faq_selection&CFID=B & FID = TRO0000000b07

I have a Satellite L50 a 16G with 4 GB of RAM and I would like to move to 8 GB, but I don't know what memories are compatible with my PC.
I tried to present that the serial number on the Support from Toshiba page but tells me that is not valid, as the Auto Detect tool is unable to detect my device and if I get the model in the list is not?
How can I get information on my PC?

According to specification for laptop, your laptop can be upgraded up to 16 GB. Modules memory compatible RAM for your laptop are:

    4 GB DDR3-1600-PA5037U-1M4G
    8 GB DDR3-1600-PA5037U-1M8G

In the lower corner of your laptop, you will find the cover of RAM. Remove it and you will have full access to the RAM slots.

Do you know how to remove/make up RAM modules?
