How long Microsoft will send updates of security for Vista? Office 2007?

With all the hype about "the end of XP" I wonder how long Vista will continue to be updated with the Microsoft security updates? Already I replaces my two XP PC with Windows 8.1, but my wife still loves its Vista and wants to stick with it. She also and like Office 2007 and I wondered about this as well. Microsoft Security Essentials runs on it and has been without problems so far. How long she will be able to use this computer until it is not the choice like me with my XP PC? (I miss you)

  • How long will support it El Capitan?

I absolutely don't want the features of Sierra. I especially don't want my files in the cloud - especially since I see that Apple will remove files from my computer to store there. And I do really not all Siri. Then... I don't want to upgrade and go through the hassle of my software is incompatible, etc, etc. How long will support you the OS, I already have?

    Apple isn't here.

These forums are supported by users like you.

We have no idea what Apple will or will not do.

Apple offers an option to store your files on iCloud, if you do not want to do it then don't. Siri is also optional application. If you do not have to be used just set it up. You are given the option during installation. Personally, I see no reason for not upgrade you to Sierra.

  • Firefox will always be a way course surf the web using a Windows XP computer after that leaves Microsoft support Windows XP?

Windows XP is still my favorite operating system, but Microsoft will give up support in the coming days. If I understand correctly, shortly after which using Windows Internet Explorer to surf the web on a computer running Windows XP (or can) make the computer vulnerable to piracy. It will be the same for the use of Mozilla Firefox on a computer that is running Windows XP?
I think I saw an ad for Google Chrome with that they would continue to support the browser for use on a Windows XP computer. I think that Google said they would keep releasing patches to secure the Chrome. Can anyone confirm that and more importantly, is Mozilla Firefox secure? Also, should I uninstall Internet Explorer on my Windows XP computer when leaving Microsoft support?

Note - I am posting this with a newer computer that works under Windows 7 64-bit.

Firefox will continue to work with Windows XP. At best, in the near future, I could see the required configuration to encountered to Windows XP with Service Pack 3 (obligation is SP2 for now). Security in Firefox patches are the same, regardless of the version of Windows you are using.

Keep in mind that without security updates, the operating system itself will be precarious. What browser and software security that you use will not change.

Internet Explorer is a component of the system, and you should not attempt to remove it in Windows Vista and lower. From Windows 7, there's a way of kind of uninstall from the control panel.

  • When will to stop Microsoft support Windows 7 Starter?

    My question is that simple;

When Microsoft stop supporting Windows 7 Starter? Or it has already stopped?

In terms of supported Microsoft does not distinguish between different versions of a specific version of Windows. If all versions of Windows 7 will continue to be on a general public support until January 12, 2015. This is because all versions of Windows 7 are the same at the base with different features enabled or disabled according to the license.

The general term is his 'life' and details for Windows 7 can be found here. Of course, they could remove a particular version of sale at any time as is currently "to be determined".

  • How long can I continue to use Windows 7

I don't find this answer online, not even on Microsoft.

If I choose to keep windows 7 and not upgrade to Windows 10 before the end of July, how long Microsoft will continue to provide updates on it?

Also, if I need to re - install Windows 7 after an accident or the replacement motherboard, can I do it and activate it and still get all the old updates for it?

And how long can I still get questions answered here relating to Windows 7?

I use Windows 7 Ultimate N on a computer desktop and Windows 7 64 bit on my laptop, which came from Toshiba.

Extended support (and updates) for Win7 continues until January 14, 2020.

If you need to reinstall Win7 for a reason, you should be able to activate using the original product key. We hope that the Win7 updates be available (i.e., through the Microsoft Update Catalog) several years after the end of Extended Support, but no one never really knows for sure.

Similarly, Win7 specific forums is still available here well after January 2020.

All development for Outlook Express and Windows Mail ceased in June 2006. (Yes. So Vista is still beta). No change will never be in each program. Support will continue updates of security as long as their operating system is supported. April 2014, for XP SP3. Not sure about Vista SP2. Bruce Hagen ~ MS - MVP [Mail]

How long with that I take to receive the invitation presumed to be able to download Winows 10 during the upgrade to Windows 7. I've literally been waiting ovwe 2 hours now.  :(

The fastest way to get the upgrade is to download the ISO.  Year ISO is like a dvd in order to to use, you need to right click > go up.  Begin upgrading Windows.

WARNING: do not USE NOT THESE TO DO A CLEAN the INSTALLATION (before after you have already updated).  If you do you will not be able to activate it without having previously upgraded to win 10 and active.  Then, you will be forced to reinstall your previous operating system before the upgrade to win 10

The Final Windows 10 official download is now available (10586)

Use the download tool to create ISO support to update your windows.
