How photo change default location of Lightroom 4

I installed Adobe suite on my main C:\ drive, that is, for good or bad an SSD, with only 160 GB of total storage space.

With the help of another tray more 500 GB HDD for primary storage operations - all pictures etc and a 3rd Hdd tray for backups complete to retain this data.

This has become very problematic because by default 'C:\User\XXXX\Pictures' quickly gobbles up all available space SSD with photos, that I need to stock up on "D:\Photography".

Further if I move the imports to the default location (C:\Users\xxxx\pictures) LR Can no longer find saying them 'Not available Photo moved or missing' or something like.

Since Lightroom and Photoshop, both lie on "C:\". "for speed, I would like to keep this for editing operations on the selected photos, but store the original DL'd"D:\Photos"or some other player of my choice...

BTW, I use Vista 64 Ultimate and love it so much...

I hope that (prayer) for a solution to this short of uninstalling/reinstalling my full Adobe after another drive.

Apparently there is no internal configuration. point the doing - or have I missed it?

Is there another way? Complete Setup without a reinstall maybe?

I know that this may be a confusing but, but it's a real concern - thanks for any help you can provide.

Photos you have already moved can be reconnected: http://www.computer-darkroom.com/lr2_find_folder/find-folder.htm

To avoid putting your photos on C:\ first of all, it is an option in the Panel of the Destination of the import dialog box.

Related issue:

Using an SSD to store pictures produced only an improvement in the very tiny speed, the General recommendation is to put photos on a disk HARD ordinary (even an external HARD drive). You will never see the difference. Ian Lyons did a study and put on an SSD RAW photos win 0.05 seconds per photo, compared to put pictures on an internal hard drive.

Is it not possible to have the Lightroom program on my internal hard drive but data on twice on two discs hard different extermal? If I look at Lightroom - the catalog settings - I see that the location of the internal hard drive is my storage location now, but I have my two external hard drives do not appear as folders. Why? How do I change this so that external hard drives appear in Lightroom and I can watch all my fotos immediately (sometimes using external hard drive 1 and sometimes using external hard drive 2)?

I want impert lots of data from a CD - do I need to first copy the fotos on my external hard drive, and then import it into Lightroom or is it easier to import data directly from the CD in Lightroom so that I don't have to name the files twice?

I see that I must sort the fotos of the CDs in different folders and an opportunity to do it in the Finder to my MacBookPro. In Lightroom I don't want to have to click on each of the hundreds of photos to be able to put it in the right folders... The instructions do not all "creating a second folder.

The instructions are: "In the import dialog box, select Add, and then on the left in the Source Panel, select the appropriate folder."

  • How can I change default location VM VMware Workstation via Group Policy or to a Script?

    Hello

I administer a laboratory of my school networking in a Windows Server 2008 R2 environment. We want to enable folder redirection but since VMware Workstation creates new virtual machines by default in the C:\Users\Username\Documents\Virtual Machines, I can't do this, or else the NAS would be overloaded.

My question is, is there a file registry or config that I could change via a script or a political group? In this way, all students would default their VM install to another location.

    Thanks for your time.

The default location is %USERPROFILE%\Documents\Virtual Machines and is not set in the registry of Windows or the disk file until the default is changed and is then defined in the file %APPDATA%\VMware\preferences.ini as: prefvmx.defaultVMPath = "FQP.

  • How to change my location in Windows?

My computer, or possibly Windows, seem to think that I am located in Federal Way, WA.  I guess it was sort of a parameter by default when I bought the laptop.  I am not, however, and I would like to know how to change it to my hometown.

    Try this:

    1. Click the Start button, then clickControl Panel.

    2. In the search box, type the location and then click on enter a default location.

    3. Enter a postal code. If you want to provide an address, you can enter underEnter address (optional).

    4. Click on apply.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

  • How to change a registration of Lightroom 4 to 5 Lightroom?

I a subscription to Lightroom 4 and I have to pay each month for IT. But I changed my computer and now I have a Mac with Yosemite. I want to change to a subscription with Lightroom 5 et stop my subscription with Lightroom 4 How can I do?

    Hi Anabelle,

What is a creative cloud subscription? In this case, you can use the following steps.

    • In the bar at the top of your computer screen, locate the creative cloud icon.
    • Click creative cloud icon to see the desktop application.
    • Upstairs to find applications and click on applications.
    • Find 5 Lightroom and click Install next to him.
    • Next to Lightroom 4, there should be a gear icon which you can click to uninstall Lightroom 4.

Mind you, it could be that if you have not used the application creative cloud for a while that it invites you to put up-to-date first. Cross the guests and then connect back with your Adobe ID and password associated with your creative cloud membership.

Also, if you have not yet installed the creative cloud desktop application, here is a link that will help you:

Using creative cloud | Creative cloud to desktop

Once you've upgraded, you can improve your 4 to 5 Lightroom Lightroom catalogs.

    I hope this helps.

  • How to change the location of the VM library?

My main purpose to do this is to remove it from purvey of Time Machine.

Snapshots as well as other files, which are files created Fusion based default virtual Machine reside all in the package of the Virtual Machine on the target and default merge to the last used location and it is no global setting via the graphical interface to change this, just so navigate anywhere where you want to save a Virtual Machine when you create.  BTW, a running Virtual Machine is extremely slow and subject to the pitfalls of the communications network and I wouldn't recommend running across a network unless you have to.

My main purpose to do this is to remove it from purvey of Time Machine.

All you have to do is to exclude the folder you put your Virtual Machine in Time Machine, then you would have no need to move and then run from the network.

  • How to change the location of the listener of the Apex?

    Hi all
After I changed the directory to the location of the listener of the Apex, I had
    Internal Error
When I tried to go to Apex.

    How to solve this problem?

    Kind regards
    Val

    Hi Valerie,

probably, this problem is caused by the access rights of the file on the apex.home (the place where the listener APEX stores its configuration). The default location is ${java.io.tmpdir}, which once again the default * / tmp/apex * in most cases. However, it is above all a global location, not a specific user. However, the files are created with write access to the owner and limited to the owner read access and group. So if you try to start with another user, the APEX listener tries to use the same location, but cannot access the files needed and therefore fails. root will obviously not have this problem, but I recommend not to use this account for any service that you run.
You can set a startup option to resort the APEX listener to a different location for apex.home is reading - / writeable for the current user. This could as

    java -Dapex.home=/home/user/apex -jar ./apex.war

Of course you can change the directory to anywhere that fits your system.
For more information about the boot settings, you might take a look in the development Guide and apex listeners install.

I wonder how to change the default browser on Firefox from Yahoo to Google. I personally prefer Google for research and who want by default if it is possible

Hi devinat1, if the battery-dot-3 icon does not appear, it means that Firefox has detected a button menu 'material' on your device. In general it's near the home button below the screen. If you can't find a menu button down there, do you want to talk about device you have? Perhaps one of the volunteer support can figure out what is happening.
