Connection of superelevation in EA6500

Hello
I have some problems with to connect my ea6500 for smart WiFi service.
I have the valid password to my router and all very well when the router will not connect to internet, but when I connect it to the internet, I can not connect to router. I get my smart connection to wi fi account and word password, after that I need to enter the password for my router and I see the message "password invalid.

Thanks for the replies! Problem has been resolved. With your help, I found a solution

It was so simple

Things to do if you are having problems with linksys smart wifi access service:

  • Make sure that your router has the latest firmware.
  • Reset and power cycle the router
  • Make sure you have a stable internet connection with your modem
  • Try different browsers and if possible, try another computer
  • Clear the cache of the browser, history and cookies, or if possible, reset the browser back to the default settings.

  • Unable to connect to the router EA6500

I just bought the EA6500 last week. Had to RMA on Monday and got the new today. The problem persists. The power light flashes constantly and my computer does not obtain an IP address from it. I contacted technical support and could not get the problem solved so I had exchanged them it believing that it was defective. The other did the same thing. When I connect my computer, the light on my rest Ethernet port a solid orange instead of green as it does for my usual router. The Cisco constantly flashes. I would really like to help in this question, because I doubt that I had received two defective routers in a row.

    Hi Shentok,

You can try the steps ff

    * Download the latest firmware for the EA6500
    * Download the upgrade utility, http://support.linksys.com/en-us/support/routers/BEFW11S4 . Choice hardware version 3.2 and who says utility download

    * And then connect the computer to the router (do not connect the modem again, while doing these steps)
    * Set the static IP address on your PC, such as 192.168.1.100
    * Ping the router, if you can get reply from her, then you can perform the upgrade
    * Run the utility
    * Server: 192.168.1.1
    * Password: admin
    * If the upgrade will be successful
    * turn off the router for 2 minutes after that, power on the router, then wait the powerlight stay strong
    * Once its solid, set the computer back to DHCP
    * Check if you can get an IP address from the router, if you can, you can now try to access the user interface of the router.

  • Strange problem with connectivity

I had this problem with one of my computers I'm trying to connect to my router ea6500. I have several wired devices and wireless but who are working very well, the router gives me the questions recently and I had to get back to the form of the plant. Once I had setup the configuration again, one of my computers which had run fine before has an interesting question.

The computer appears in my router with it's normal internal IP address. And my computer is saying that it is correctly connected to the internet. The question? It is not. All my other computers and devices are excellent connections without interruption of service whatsoever. No idea what could cause this kind of problem?

After crossing, my pilots had messed up a stored parameter which was preserved through updates to pilot. I had to uninstall and reinstall the driver for my machine to fix manually Ethernet controller.

  • Address MAC WUMC710 problems when using MAC filtering

I recently bought the point WUMC710-HQ AC wireless to connect to my router EA6500.  Generally, the WUMC710 seems to work.  I was able to connect to the router wirelessly on the 5 GHz band and flow EA6500 a NetFlix video with no problems.

However, there is a major problem that comes makes no logical sense for me:

When I turn on the wireless MAC address filtering of the EA6500, the WUMC710 does not connect to the EA6500router.

Yet, I 8 eight other wireless devices on my network which connect very well to the EA6500 when the MAC address filtering is enabled.  Thus, the question seems to outright to WUMC710.

The address printed on the product shipment to the ends of the box with numbers XX:1 d.

This address matches the address printed at the bottom of the WUMC710 MAC. (normal)

My EA6500 router recognizes this MAC address as the correct MAC associated with the WUMC710 (when MAC filtering is enabled).  But as soon as the MAC filtering is turned on, the WUMC710 does not recover to the router. (I checked the MAC address, that I walked into the filter at least a dozen times, and she entered correct - but all my other wireless devices connect OK).

This is a point that seems strange on the MAC address associated to the WUMC710:

When I am able to connect to the WUMC710, State--> tab Device illustrated the right address MAC I use to filter.  But when I check the status--> network wireless tab, it displays the MAC address wireless like: XX:1E.

So, now, I try to get into this 'new' MAC address in the MAC of the router EA6500 filter just to see if it will work with this MAC address "without papers" of the wireless device.  At first, it seems to work.  The WUMC710 of blue light will come on indicating that a wireless connection has been established with the router.  BUT nowhere in the web interface of EA6500 says that the WUMC710 has a DHCP connection with the router.  And, if I connect my laptop directly to one of the WUMC710 Ethernet ports, there is no connection to the Internet via the router (as long as the MAC filtering is enabled).

I did Factory Reset a few times now and no difference.

Firmware is the factory default - it is there no update of the firmware available, yet.

I spent several hours trying to understand what is happening with this device and go round and round in circles in trying different things.  I can only conclude WUMC710-AC is defective, or requires a firmware fix - but none are available.

Am I missing something here?  Or Cisco does suggest a fix for the firmware for the WUMC710-AC?

(I don't really like to run my network wireless MAC address filtering active wireless.)

    Kind regards

    Jeff

Cisco-Linksys 2 support with me today confirmed what I thought it was a possible firmware bug, is actually undocumented features of the WUMC710, by design.  And they agreed that they will update the documentation for WUMC710 to take account of these features and system requirements.

Just like a reference to new users of the WUMC710 AC wireless bridge, I will summarize here the requirements for WUMC710 wireless bridge to work properly with the router, Cisco-Linksys AC6500 Wireless, when MAC filtering is enabled.  If all goes well, this information will save some other people the many hours I spent to dig through the documentation and the FAQ to try to understand what it takes to connect successfully devices behind the bridge of WUMC710 to the AC6500 router - when the MAC address filtering is enabled:

The following MAC address must be entered in the AC6500 router table filtering of MAC addresses to connect devices behind the bridge WUMC710 wireless to the Internet:

    1. The MAC address of the bridge wireless WUMC710 wireless.
    2. The address MAC LAN of the WUMC710 bridge.
    3. Addresses MAC LAN of each LAN device connected to the LAN Ports of the WUMC710 bridge.

    That in a few words.

With this information, devices behind the WUMC710 of Internet connection (with the active MAC filtering) is a breeze.

  • EA6500 - Canon sx510HS - connects, then disk - camera cannot see the network

Ok. Previously, I had a Netgear WNDR3300 and the device connected to the G network without problem and is remained connected. When I use the EA6500.

First of all, I see the network 2.4 comments when I search a network on the camera. I don't see the 2.4 or 5 ghz network. WPS will not find the camera and vice versa. Even if I try the PIN issued by the camera.

Secondly, when I manually add the camera to the network and enter the password, it connects for about 15 seconds then disconnects.

In the third place. When you use the option 'synchronize', the networks are not yet seen by the camera, but the camera connects to the network that I added manually, as in question 2, and stay tuned for a long time, however, it is necessary for the sync/copy all the new images in a folder on my pc.

So I'm puzzled as to why the camera connected so easily with the netgear and this Linksys EA6500 he will not keep the connection. any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

    Hi mtbmesa,

How far is the camera of your router? Outside the camera you have other wireless devices that connects very well with the router? What is the brand of the camera?

    Try these settings:

SSID: must be different for 2.4 GHZ and 5 GHz

    Network mode: mixed

    Security mode: WPA2/WPA mixed personal

    Channel width: 20 MHz

    Channel: 3, 6 or 9

I would like to know if it works.

  • iPhone does not connect to EA6500 2.4 GHz

I put it up as Capri (2.4 GHz) and CapriHD (5 GHz). CapriHD has been provided only for HD video traffic. IPhone 4S my wife can only use 2.4 GHz, and he left suddenly after 1-2 months of use. My iphone 5 may use either the band and it can connect only on 5 GHz.  This problem COULD correspond to the recent update of the firmware?  So I traveled a lot around this time can not be sure that it is a culprit.

Really thought that the problem was the material, so I replaced it with a new EA6500 and get the same result.

I suspect that the problem could be environmental. Maybe the neighbor something interfering, but I don't you assignment of channel info as we did in the past with older routers, so don't know how to go about trying other things here.

I found that, by limiting the width and assigning hard channel 11 that our iPhones can now connect 2.4 GHz.  Apparently, something installed neighbors again, and the function of channel AUTO assign the router cannot resolve this conflict.

  • EA6500 Remote Desktop connection

    Very simple requirement.

    • New EA6500
    • (Win7Pro) server on local network
    • (Win8Pro) PC on LAN
    • You use Remote Desktop connection to connect PC to the server.

The old LinkSys WRT54G worked well.

Also tried searching on the web and speaking to support a few hours... Support made me play with security settings:

    • Uncheck Internet filter options
    • Add a record on the Port Range Forwarding with Port 3389 to the IP address of the server.

I have spent hours trying to make this work, but no luck.

I finally solved this. Problem was with the firewall on the server that I tried to remote desktop.

    • Initially, I disabled the firewall and could then remote desktop to the server.
    • Converted and then back on, tweaked (don't know exactly what I did) and it works now with the operation of the firewall.

    Thanks for the help.

  • EA6500 loses the WIFI connection after inactivity, how to fix this?

Hi guys, Ive had this problem with some routers now and I was hoping that this new EA6500 would fix it but no. Every time that I do not use wifi during the night, the day depending on whether it does not work, I need to restart the router for WIFI to work again. Wired connections still works and does not descend. Someone knows how can I fix?

Try to change the local IP address of the EA6500 192.168.2.1.

It is possible that a conflict NAT is fouling things up. Through feeding cycle usually is a big red flag for a NAT conflict.

The EA6500 is designed to avoid conflicts NAT for the devices connected to the wan port, but I do not think that it will avoid conflicts with the LAN port.

  • EA6500 unable to connect to the router after Time Machine

Just got an EA6500 - updated to the latest firmware available.

I have attached 2 x WD NAS and 1 x WD through the USB port of the device.

Each time after I finished running Time Machine on the MacBookPro (written to one of the WD NAS), I can no more connection to the router as neither the local IP, or the cisco connect cloud. The error message I get (loosely formulated) is: unable to connect to the router. Please ensure that the router is connected to the internet.

At this point, all the devices connected to the router (wired and wireless) still can access Internet perfectly. Only the console of the router is therefore more accessible.

    Anyone else have the issue?

Any ideas on how to solve it?

Contact support for Cisco and the person advised me to do a factory reset (even if the router is new with no customization!). Regardless, it now works correctly. Cisco Cloud Connect works always before, during, and after a Time Machine.

  • How to connect EA6500 to the phone line, but with no modem

    Hi all

I just bought an ea6500 to replace my old router billion and up to now all I had to do is plug my phone line directly into the port ' phone line in "on the back of the router billion.

But according to me, there is no "phone line in" port on the ea6500, I don't use a modem and have used the router billion in itself for the past 6 years, is it possible to connect my telephone line directly on the ea6500 somehow, ideas appreciated?

My research indicates so far you can do via a ' Ethernet / phone line adapter "because they are incompatible, in any case.

Installation guide appears if wait to a Modem is being used, but in my case it was not and I think that a router must perform the basic functions of a modem anyway?

What concerns me is that if I really need to buy a modem, then this is potentially 'Butterfly' the features of the ea6500 which is the reason why I bought it in the first place?

If I need to buy a modem to get my work ea6500 so what specifications should I look for?

confused the new customer... Thank you

I just checked the online billion router and discovered that it is actually an ADSL router, so it has an ADSL port at the back that the EA6500 do not have. I suggest that you ask your Internet provider if they provide or provide you with a DSL modem, you can install the EA6500 router properly. In addition, the EA6500 is a simple band and dual gigabit router that works behind a modem cable or DSL internet connection.

  • EA6500 only shows no device connected to the switch of working group 5 ports

I just replaced a defective Linksys e4200 with an ea6500.  After assistance by phone, I got to the top and work, but only one computer on my LAN is not displayed.

I connected an 8 port 10/100 switch Linksys my 4200, and my wife's computer was connected to that.   The computer displays the IP as 192.168.1.133 and it is connected to the internet with my router again.  But the ea6500 does not show a device with the ip address.  Instead, he shows what he calls a network with the IP 192.168.1.130 device.

How can I see the devices connected to the switch 5 ports and determine which ip addresses, they have been assigned?

I use a switch with my network with a router EA and it shows the devices correctly. Turn off the computer which does not appear in the list of devices and check to see if any device will appear as offline adter who. Remove from the list of devices, and then restart the router. Once the router is ready, open the page of the router again and turn on the computer and check if it will be detected correctly. I hope this helps.

Edit: Check and make sure you have the latest firmware loaded. Otherwise, update the firmware and do a reset after the update of the firmware. Check your list of devices after that.

    Hi Bobo Rose,

    1. did you of recent changes on the computer?

2 when was the last time it was working fine?

    3. you receive an error message during the system check?

I suggest that you run the CHKDSK utility by using the installation CD of Windows XP, which checks the specified drive and repairs or recovers the drive if the drive requires it. The command also marks bad sectors and recovers readable information.

You will need to access the recovery console to run Chkdsk.

You can use the following options:

CHKDSK /p Performs a comprehensive check of the drive and corrects any errors.
CHKDSK /r Locates bad sectors and recovers readable information.

  • Cannot connect to my EA6500

I can not connect to my home page of the router (on Windows 7). The blue login screen Cisco came but won't the login window. Works very well on a MAC computer. Anyone have any ideas?

You'll may reset your browser such as removal of the navigation stories, uninstall and reinstall. Also, try other browsers like Mozilla firefox or google chrome or maxthon browser cloud.

You can access the router remotely by going to linksyssmartwifi.com. If you want to access it locally, you can type myrouter.local, this sometimes of works. You can also type the ip address of your router in the address bar of the control panel or start the search field. There are a lot of ways by connecting to a router, as long as the router works and configured properly.

  • EA6500 connectivity issues

I have had this router for about 6 months. The first 3 months were no problem as far as the Internet goes. It seems that, after the last update of the firmware, I started having these problems. I don't know if it is a factor or not. I tried to go back to the earlier version of the firmware and it automatically updated to the latest version after that. I have disabled the automatic firmware updates now, but haven't tried the new since restoration.

Every night around midnight our router loses internet connectivity. I have Comcast and contacted and went through a few steps to troubleshoot with them. The cable modem was not connect to internet while I was on the phone with them, so they allowed an Exchange. So I recently had a new cable modem. Still lose connectivity at midnight every night. But now the modem doesn't seem to be loss of connection, just the router.

But the router does not reconnect on its own. If I unplug the power to the router and plug it in back reconnects until midnight again. But I also found that instead, I can just disconnect internet cable from the modem to the back of the router, plug it back and the connection is re-established. I don't think that the problem is with the cable because it works fine until around midnight.

I don't know where to go from here, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It is necessary to reset and reconfigure your router to work with your new modem; and especially since the router has done an update of the firmware.  And please try to make sure that your router is set to the correct time zone (connectivity > basic > time zone).
