How "Scan of listeners" want I have and or need?...

... Hello my beautiful people s/n...

I currently have a group of 11 GR 2 node RAC 2 running with a Scan configured listener.

In my file/etc/hosts, you will see a "Scan name" attributed to a static IP address.

Can I add more? If yes how?

My question is simple:

I see a "Scan Listener" running...

I must have a listener to Scan by cluster server?

How can I watch the Scan as a whole?

I know what it does, I just didn't know how to determine how much I really need?

Thank you...

Xevv...

Simply open the hosts file in a text editor and add the new ip SCAN numbers. When the cluster is restarted, it will start this number of listeners SCAN. Note: This should not be for production environments. Prod should have scan ip resolved in DNS, otherwise how applications would use it?

Lol you should have at least 2 for redundancy purposes. And the most you can get is 3, even if you have more than 3 knots.

Brian
