    I use ASP.net for backend coding, I use PHP. If you want to stay with Microsoft technologies, and then you would like to use ASP.net. and a Microsoft server.

    When you have a Web site that contains many pages with similar content structure, the practice is to store all content and all variables in a database. It is possible to create a site that has hundreds of 'pages', with many variations in the pages, so they don't all look like clones, and yet all this might be based on a single web page. A website as Amazon.com has millions of 'pages', but may actually have only a dozen basic page structures.

    Convert what you now have a system like this would be a fair amount of work, but it's the way to go now.

  • Search and replace text in multiple columns

    I have a document with 4 columns that repeat throughout the document in different lines. I would like to find and replace text for all 4 columns at the same time.  I tried a number of special characters between my column information but still can't seem to find the line.  I've included an example below of the appearance of my lines.  I would like to find and replace the first line and the third row.

    Header 1 Header 2 Header 3 Header 4
    onebcd
    efgh
    onebcd
    efgh

    Here is the special character combos, I tried:

    a ^ Mb ^ Mc ^ Md

    a ^? b ^ > c ^? d

    Thoughts?

    You can only select entire flood, copy it and select each time the raw and paste. There is no simple method to detect the sequence of the fields in a table.

  • Illustrator search and replace

    Hello

    Can someone tell me if it is possible to function JavaScript illustrators search and replace text?

    I know that it is possible in InDesign, but I can't find anything for Illustrator.

    Thank you very much

    Nik

    Hi Nik, no need to dig down to the words, we search the whole textFrame.contents. Here's a working example

    var active_doc = app.activeDocument;

    var search_string = /blah/gi; // g for global search, remove i to make a case sensitive search
    var replace_string = "lalala";

    var text_frames = active_doc.textFrames;

    if (text_frames.length > 0)
    {
        for (var i = 0 ; i < text_frames.length; i++)
          {
              var this_text_frame = text_frames[i];
               var new_string = this_text_frame.contents.replace(search_string, replace_string);

               if (new_string != this_text_frame.contents)
                   {
                        this_text_frame.contents = new_string;
                   }
          }

  • RegExp search and replace, keep the formatting of the original text

    Hello!

    Will have to perform the Search and replace within a framework of text using RegExp.

    And to retain the original formatting of the text block.

    How is it possible?

    Bad example-, it converts all the text formatting to the format of the first character:

    var reg = /a/gmi;
    var replacer = '*';
    var fr = activeDocument.textFrames[0];
    fr.contents = fr.contents.replace (reg , replacer);

    find_and_replace_regexp.jpg

    Thank you!

    I has not yet been tested your code.

    But why you did not play with my code snippet, use something like this:

    // regex_changeContentsOfWordOrString_RemainFormatting.jsx
    // regards pixxxel schubser
    var s = /arguments/gi;
    var replacer = "other string", result;
    var atf = activeDocument.textFrames[0];

    while (result = s.exec(atf.contents)) {
        try {
            aCon = atf.characters[result.index];
            aCon.length = result[0].length;
            aCon.contents = replacer;
            } catch (e) {};
        }

    Try it and have fun

  • How to find and replace text in the index entries?

    Hello

    Recently, I copied a manual to create a new one for another product. After a global search and replace the product names and other texts, I needed to replace a specific word that appears in the index entries.

    I noticed the search box would allow me to search the text of the marker, but I had to replaceme the word by hand - cut and paste the new Word, click on change the marker to save it and then find the next occurrence.

    It's with frame 7.2. Does anyone know a faster way to do this?

  • How can I use search and replace to replace the title of the doc with copy of the h1 content?

    I have a site with about 300 pages which have the same title. I need to replace this title by the same text that appears in the h1 tag on the page (each page is different). Of DW search and replace it? If so, how? I don't really want to go have to go to each page and copy/paste.

    jeffsure wrote:

    Is there a way to tell him to put only the first h1 tag in the title?

    I'm really motivated now to learn regex!

    Yes. Just use the following regular expression instead of the previous:

    ([^<>[\S\s]+?

    )([^<>

    The field is to replace the same.

    The question mark is the [\S\s]+ a lazy search, stopping at the first]

    rather than doing a greedy research that concludes the last

    in the page.

    The regex for learning is difficult, but it can be very rewarding. I would only like the best.

    HI Brendan,

    You don't need an advanced find and replace for it.

    In the search box, press, then space.

    In the box replace by, press option-return.

    Then click Find and replace and find until you are finished.

  • [CS5 JS] excluding the Notes of search and replace

    Hello

    Does anyone know how to exclude all text within a Note of a search/replace, text or grep operation?

    I went through and systematically all the findChangeGrepOptions that had the word "include" in false:

    includeLockedStoriesForFind: false

    includeLockedLayersForFind: false

    includeHiddenLayers: false

    includeMasterPages: false

    includeFootnotes: false

    just to check, but nothing has worked. myText.changeGrep () has again changed the text in the note.

    Of course, it would be pretty easy to write a wrapper function

    var myChangeGrep = function( textObject, checkNotes ) {
       checkNotes = checkNotes || false;
       results = [];

      // Go through and run changeGrep on all the
      // parts of the textObject that are not contained inside Notes,
      // (or just run it on the entire textObject if checkNotes is true),
      // and push the results to the results array as we go along.

      return results;
    };

    but it has the disadvantage that it returns a table and not a collection of InDesign, as does the regular changeGrep. In addition, as simple as it may be, it would be easier if there was a preference somewhere to take care of this.

    Any idea?

    Thank you!

    There is no preference for that: the scope of search and replace can be set only with five preferences that you have already tried. (In the same way, you can not include/exclude tables.) findGrep() and changeGrep() return an array, for that matter, not a collection.

  • Find and replace text with formatted text.

    I am trying to replace the text ' ^ 2 ' with '2' on photoshop by a search and replace, because there are many cases that on my image, but I can't seem to access any feature in photoshop which can do a search and replace for anything other than simple text. Is there a css solution, or a plugin that would allow me to do this? I have not sought on anything either on google search, although I will update this thread if I find something

    Google found this discussion Forums Adobe with different versions of the script.  I don't know exactly what made the script, but maybe it would work.  You probably want to make a backup of your documents before you run it:

  • File save to preserve search and replace queries when reinstalling?

    I need to uninstall and reinstall CS6. I have a large number in search and replace queries that would be extremely difficult to redefine. How do I save these as well as other features such as the areas of work or Actions in PhotoShop?

    Your saved queries find/replace are in a folder in your library to the user or the user's profile (depending on your operating system). You can find the path to where they are stored in the information provided for the InDesign Defaults file to replace your preferences. The folder queries saved is in the same folder as the InDesign Defaults file. Note that this is a HIDDEN on all recent operating systems folder.

    There was also a case of workspaces in the same place for ID. Similar records should be found for other programs under their respective application folders to the same location of the user's library/profile.

  • GREP: Search and replace

    Does anyone know if its possible to take a list (shown on the lower part of the image) and run a GREP search and replace to create the list of tabs (shown on the picture)?

    I know that the majority of it can be made with the regular search and replace: separate the first and last name; MD and MD #; Postal code and telephone number.

    What I was not able to understand is how to add a tab forward and backward the state abbreviations 2-digit, the Middle Initial, phone number and more important even if there is a way to add tabs in when there aren't the same amount of lines, such as the field of specialty.

    I know that I can use the GREP search and replace to add a tab before each paragraph back, then remove the tab where there are 2 paragraph after each game returns, then substituting a tab and a paragraph back to just a tab, together running all the rows in each set.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated, and if there is anywhere I can learn more about GREP, I would love to learn it.

    Thank you

  • Reformatting of files in Dreamweaver: series of files (search and replace) .dwr batch consecutively

    I have to do a reformat complicated of an entire site. It is simplified to a series of search and replace tasks for each file. Each search and replace string was recorded in a .dwr file. Currently, I load and run each .dwr file.

    How batch or automate this task in Dreamweaver? In other words, a series of files .dwr to consecutively run the tail?

    OK, here we go.

    This example, a simple command of Dreamweaver Extension, run two find and replace commands in a go. (It can be any number of commands find and replace).

    The first command replaces 'the' and 'this' "phe" and "phis". The second paragraph command replaces

      ...
      ...
    . (These can of course be all find and replace.)

    You need two files: an HTML file (for the UI) and a Javascript file (for actions). I named the 'Find and replace Test.html' and 'find and replace Test.js. (They can be any name).

    Find and replace the file Test.html

    Find and Replace Test

    Are you sure?

    Find and replace Test.js

    function canAcceptCommand() {
        return true;
    }

    function commandButtons() {
        return new Array("Go!", "doIt()", "Cancel", "window.close()");
    }

    function doIt() {
        dreamweaver.setUpFindReplace({
            searchString: "th(e|is)",
            replaceString: "ph$1",
            searchWhat: "document",
            searchSource: true,
            useRegularExpressions: true
        });
        dreamweaver.replaceAll();

        dreamweaver.setUpFindReplace({
            searchString: "<(/?)ul>",
            replaceString: "<$1ol>",
            searchWhat: "document",
            searchSource: true,
            useRegularExpressions: true
        });
        dreamweaver.replaceAll();

        window.close();
    }

    Basically, you can call any number of this pair of functions in the script:

    dreamweaver.setUpFindReplace(findAndReplaceObject);
    dreamweaver.replaceAll();

    Place these JS and HTML files in this directory:

    Application Dreamweaver/Configuration/Commands Directory.

    Then in Dreamweaver, open the window "insert." (You need to open an HTML file in order to make the active insertion window.) Above the insertion window, there is a drop down category ("Common" etc.). Do alt + click (ctrl + click) - then you'll see a 'Reload Extenesions' element at the bottom of the drop-down list. This will load this extension of DW. (Alternatively, you can restart DW to load the extension.)

    It is now ready to run the Extension. Open an HTML document that you want to change. Go to the 'orders' in the menu bar. At the bottom of the drop-down list, there is an article "find and replace Test." Select and enjoy

    Notes
