  To avoid the message about the file being modified, close everything in the editor before you start find and replace operations. The message is produced because you have the aforementioned subjects to open in the editor.

  As you mention "search and replace in files", I assume you are referring to version 8. I just opened version 8 and carried out a search and replace to confirm. There is a button allowing you to cancel all.

  

  By clicking and dragging to create a link, it never worked that way. You can just drag from the pod to the list of topics to do. But you can leave the pod project manager. Perhaps you should consider submitting a form wishes to request the ability to drag and drop the pod of the list of subjects to create links.

  As far as rearrange your subjects in different folders, as long as you do from within RoboHelp you shouldn't be destroying all the links. RoboHelp updates the references for you when you move things. The only question is if you automatically create the structure of your table of contents based on the structure of the project.   I have RoboHelp x5.0.2 and I always used search and replace to my former employer. I started with a new company and the FAR RoboHelp does not appear in the tools. I know that you can add a tool, if you know the path, but I don't know where to look.

  I wanted to just replace a string in my HR project. Using the "Find and replace in files" dialog box, the Option "ignore HTML tags" is gray.

  Even if I create a new empty project: the same problem.

  Is this Option is generally not available in RH11 or what is the trigger for the Option out of gray?

  What if all you want to do is to use find/replace and open them perhaps as
  text, simply add them to the doctype with the txt extension.

  I had deleted a record 3 days back

  That was my life in it... my photos and childhood memories

  They are all gone now :(

  And I accidentally emptied my recycle bin

  The problem here is that I had saved new files after all this

  This means that my deleted data has been overwritten...

  CC of Dreamweaver (version 13.2) find and replace does not work for 'folder '.... ', "Selected files to the Site" and "current Local Site together".  Works great for open files. Older versions worked fine.  What I am doing wrong?

  I'm trying to find a script that either will open a selection of files .ai or browse all open in illustrator files and perform a search and replace. Right now I have a script that runs find and replace, but I must run on each document instead of all my files.

• Locate and replace the breakers InDesign file

  I'm working on a file and whenever I do a search and replace, it crashes. I ran recently Adobe updater and when I did, the application gave an error that "Scotch rules" have been used on the last saved version and it has not been loaded on my system. As I built this file on my system, I knew I had rules of Scotch. I went in my extensions Manager and helped him. This did not help the fracas. It crashes with this load and it has not loaded.

  I also trashed my preferences in InDesign using the cmd + opt + Ctrl-Shift, as well as by the hand towards records. Nothing works

  Peter Spier It turns out that the screen resolution is the issue. A friend mentioned that Illustrator has problems with greater than a certain number of screen resolutions. I had recently changed my screen resolution and forgotten. So, Yes, it is preferable to keep the resolution of the screen down in order to keep the Adobe products to act weird. Mine is of the order of 1400 now.

• Rename files using find and replace

  Is it possible to rename the files in LR CC to aid search and replace? For example, I would like to rename all selected photos by replacing the IMG_ by ABC_ string. It is such a basic need that I can't believe that LR does not support.

  LR filename + original number would almost be an acceptable substitute, but it fails if the file name is IMG_9999_HDR because Adobe assumes that the number of original file is always the last string in the name of the file and fails to find the number if is not at the end.

  The problem occurred after you have made the changes H/w or S/w on your MAC (may be after the upgrade of your operating system)?
