  Your observations are accurate. The 'suggestions' are previous entries in the same column that correspond to what has been entered so far in the active cell. The only direct user control is to activate the function turn on or off in numbers preferences > general.

  There are other ways to include or exclude items of suggestions:

  • To remove typos in the suggestions list, the user must correct the typos in the cell above the active cell. If they are more in the list, they won't be presented as suggestions.
  • To include selections added to the list, the user must enter these suggestions in the individual cells above the active cell and column where they are wanted as suggestions.

  There was a request here a while there is a list of suggestion 'live' similar to those of some websites, which offers a descending list of possible entries as a type in an input box.

  The only way I see to reach a solution similar to what you have asked is to use as many lines at the top of the non-en-tete of the table section to list the items likely to repeat in your table, and then hide the lines.   Say I have a 'State' (Caption) drop-down menu on my_form HT. BCZ of limited space, I hv given the width of 1.4 cm, in such a way Welcome legend ONLY.

  But the values are so lenghy as MA-Massachussettts, NH-Hempshire new, fine

  So, now, when the user opened my_form, when the user has dropped down the list/tire the drop-down list, user becomes a ZONE of only 1.4 cm wide! but the entries are long as 3 cm to 3.5 cm... so I want to get a bigger box of the user so that the user can see all the full lenghth of the list of values, as MA-Massachusetts.

  Pls let me know how can I put the drop size/width according to the values (here as from 3 cm to 3.5 cm in this case, to see the full Ma-Massaachussetts), NOT according to the legend?

  The drop-down menus that are contained in a table sortable jquery act as if they are disabled. By clicking on them, doesn't matter. I can tab in the menu drop down and control it with the arrow keys, but the mouse does nothing. The menus outside of the table still work very well. This problem only occurs in Firefox 16.0.2 on several computers, all equipped with Windows 7. The problem does not occur in IE9, Chrome or Safari. In addition, the problem does not occur in Firefox 15, but it occurs in Firefox 17 Beta. I did not see anything addressing this specific issue, so I guess this isn't a known issue.

  -Did you of recent changes made to your computer before this problem?

  -Have you run an anti-virus program to check if it helps fix the problem? If not, run the same and check if it helps fix the problem.

  I would also recommend to start safe mode and check if the same behavior is noticed there too.

  Safe mode starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers. Startup programs do not work in safe mode, and only the basic drivers needed to start Windows are installed.
