How to access my D drive?

I can't access the files on my new external hard drive.  Am I supposed to insert a disk? That's what it ask again me.

Hi Eliazbeth,

To help you with your problem, we will need certain information. You encountered an error when you access your files on your hard drive? That you also connect to the computer as an administrator? Check if drive D is listed in computer management. If this isn't there, try the following:

  1. Click Start
  2. Click on Control Panel
  3. Administration tools
  4. Computer management
  5. Disk management
  6. Hover your mouse over the icon of the D drive until a text message, and then copy the exact message when it reads in the order presented.

If this isn't the case, it is not really recognized. Go to start / Control Panel / Device Manager and look for your D drive it.  If find you and double-click to view more details.  He says it's working properly?  If it does not appear he system doesn't even have the drivers for it.

Let us know how it goes.

Kind regards

Gilles Ova

I have my router configuration fine to the internet, as well as the media server.  I can't understand how to access the hard drive of my laptop, however.  The manual says to put 192.168.1.1 in the field the address of windows Explorer, but it gives me just the 'Setup' page for the router.

Am I missing something simple?  I use Windows XP.

Click on start - go to start > Run/start search and type "\\192.168.1.1" (without the quotes) and press on enter and it should ask the user name and password, the user name and password, use "admin" all lower case, and then click Ok... Now you should be able to see your USB... You must make a right click on it and select "Map network drive" and check the Enable box and below click Finish... It will map the USB on your computer... Once done, you will be able to send and receive data from your computer to the USB...

The easiest way is to use a USB to SATA or IDE USB adapter. (most of the adapters offer both).

    Hello

You want to remove the internal HARD drive and want to connect it as external device using an external HARD drive enclosure?

In this case you will need an external SATA USB controller because the Qosmio G30 supports SATA drives.

    Hi Utkarsh.Ranjan,

If you want to restrict access to a drive by using the Group Policy Editor, you can not apply for a particular user account. This will change for the user accounts.

You can't restrict access to the complete transmission. However, you can resrtict access to folders and files inside a car to a particular user.

Refer to the section "set, view, change, or remove special permissions for files and folders" in the following article and follow the steps to remove the authorization of the user access to the file/folder.

  • Satellite L650-11F - how to access HARD drive recovery?

    Hello!

    I have a Toshiba Satellite L650-11F.

The other day I had a huge massive Goner virus (lol) and the computer is turned off. Whenever I tried to turn it on, it started to load Windows, and then restart. I tried to start Windows in safe mode but the same thing happened, just keep restarting. I tried to repair Windows (by pressing f8 and etc.) and without success, he kept restarting.

So I tried to put it because it came from fabric and when I press 0 or F1 happears just 2 options: choose an opperating system to start or press tab to select a tool: Windows 7 tools: Windows memory diagnostic

Can you help me please? Is there another way I can access the hidden hard drive recovery partition? Please :(

    Hi dakova,.

Ist it Toshiba's original OS is still installed? I ask this question because it of necessary for the recovery of HARD drive. If you have installed another OS, you can access t HARD drive recovery option.
In addition, recovery of HARD drive option is available if you press the F8 key before Windows starts. In the advanced boot menu, select fix my computer. The exact procedure is described here:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD1303440001R01.htm

Alternative, you can take the Toshiba recovery disc. This will also restore the original settings. :)
