How to restore access to shared drives on your desktop?

On our server, we have several disks to store data. How can I restore links/access to these drives on my computer?

Hi Sulpa59,

Your Windows XP question is more complex than what is generally answered in the Microsoft Answers forums. It is better suited for the IT Pro TechNet public. Please post your question in the TechNet Windows XP forum.

  • When I access a shared drive on my desktop from my laptop, WINDOWS SECUITY not WILL NOT stop asking PASSWORD INTERNET

I read the exact message of 2010 covering this topic completely, and it was NOT resolved, then, or now.  5 years later, STILL not resolved because, like them, I tried Microsoft's answer and it still doesn't (turn off password protected sharing) as my has been extinguished.

For the last year it wasn't a problem, then all of a sudden, it will be NOT SHUT UP AND GO AWAY.

I have a laptop and desktop computer in my house. same mfg, same type of model, etc., same OS, WIN 7 Home Premium, 64-bit.

My office is in my office, laptop is in the bedroom. Since my office is more powerful, I have several TB of STORAGE of USB on the desktop, on the laptop in the room, I remote in the laptop desk console, control and exploit office and the drive of the laptop. .

To last year, when a shared has been evaluated, there NEVER DEMAND for Internet password until about a month.  But now he more furious than h... l as he won't stop asking the internet password, every start, every player.

DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO MAKE WIN 7 SHUT UP!.  May remember the password as he says he will?

It says "click the box to store references" What's this? A joke of Microsoft?

One could think at the time of Win 7 came out, it would have been set.  But even on this Forum, 5 years later I asked the same question they asked in 2010 of this Forum.

  • System of records of documents & settings migrated to HD external backup. Is no longer on the C: drive. How to restore to the C: drive?

PC switched on and I tried to open outlook.  Received the message:
The path specified for the file G:\Documents and Settings\Ray Bush\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\archive.pst is not valid.
Known as the G: drive is a disk external hard Lacie to be used for back up, although it has been used to store data of previous Windows XP/Office 2007 extracted from the HD system crashed.
When the above message has been received, the G: drive was not connected. Once it has been connected, archive.pst became available.
It seems that the Documents & Settings folder system has migrated to the external hard drive backup and is therefore no longer on the C: drive, or at least I can see it there.  Can I just drag and drop the folder Documents and Settings of the G: drive system into the c: (about 750MB)?
How to restore to the C: drive without doing something drastic is going to lose the settings and configuration?  Why what happened?  Can I prevent that from happening in the future? Is there a conflict between Lacie 500 Gb external SSD and internal Intel 520 Series 120 GB SSD SATA3?

    Hello

Win 7 and Win 8, Documents and Settings is a folder hidden, locked, unlike XP.

Documents, videos, photos and etc are now included in the C:\Users\User name, and that's where your installed programs will send them.

You can change their default location, and your software usually sends to the new location because of the way it is redirected.

I don't think anything has moved physically now that I re-read your post.

You say the keyword but... it has been imported into the new perspective.

When a program is something important, is usually not a physical copy of the file. It basically accesses its location of origin, as if the imported file is just a shortcut to the original.

Your Outlook was simply looking for the file to its actual location through the 'shortcut '.

Most all programs have an OPTIONS, PREFERENCES, or SETTINGS button somewhere.

Search through the links at the top of File, Edit, help, etc. It should be in one of these if ut doesn't have its own icon... a gear, for example.

  • my access was blocked because I left my pc at home and now I can't go more with thunderbird only a browser how to restore access?

I've been on my gmail account and looked at front and pop/imap settings
do not forget that they are enabled.
IMAP if you want to access from several places. This way, you have the original on Gmail-server and copies on your pc.
Pop however charges to the bottom of the email. perfect if its only one pc.
(I don't know the Gmail server deletes you).

  • How to restrict access to the drive of Wndows xp sp3?

I have 3 user account on my computer, it is has the administrator rights and the other is a standard user account.

I want to restrict access to all readers for the standard player.
I used gpedit.msc to enable the administrative model, but it also limits the account admin and me to access the road
    OS: windows XP SP3
    Please advice
    Hi Utkarsh.Ranjan,

If you want to restrict access to a drive by using the Group Policy Editor, you can not apply for a particular user account. This will change for the user accounts.

You can't restrict access to the complete transmission. However, you can resrtict access to folders and files inside a car to a particular user.

Refer to the section "set, view, change, or remove special permissions for files and folders" in the following article and follow the steps to remove the authorization of the user access to the file/folder.
  • How to restore vista OPS hard drive external bitlocker encrypted after main disk failure

I am running Vista Ultimate and my main hard drive is encrypted by Bitlocker.  I use the backup utility in Vista for backup of that my drive hard main set on a USB attached hard drive which is also encrypted by Bitlocker.  In a case of failure of the primary hard drive and installing a new hard drive, how can I restore my main hard drive (the new drive) to the USB attached bitlocker encrypted external hard? My vista ultimate OPS has been upgraded to the origin of vista home premium and so I did not have the ultimate Setup DVD disk.  I have the disk of vista Home premium.

Create a recovery disk that the restoration of the backup complete on this topic option (including family Vista drive premium will be not because this option is only available on the Enterprise and Ultimate versions)-should not do anything on bitlocker on it (which will take care of itself during the restore process unless you configure to use a flash drive for protection - then the flash player is also required {but) not a recovery disk different}).  You can make a bootable recovery disk by using http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/ with burning software like: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html and, of course, a blank CD (including backup complete PC Restore).  Be sure to get the drive to boot correctly - there are several ways to make records and this requires a way for it to work (but those that are included in the manual or on the website).

For more information, here's a great article on bitlocker with Vista.   It does not exactly cover your question, but it is very instructive in the process and the technology (and might help you if you are facing a problem on the road) and its good information to have if you use bitlocker (which can be difficult and can cause problems of recovery if you do not just because of the extra complication of encryption (backup and restore). http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/2008.06.bitlocker.aspx.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • How can I include link shared drive to form in the submission email?

I'm an Assistant in an office where we will use Adobe forms to start the beginning of a project. My bosses are to save their form in a corresponding folder, then 'send' the form warns me I continue with the launch of the project.

My question is: how far, in the body of the email, include a link to where the Adobe form is saved on our shared drive so that I can click on the link and go directly to it, rather than use the attachment is? This, I hope, will prevent the form being registered in two different places.

    Hi CSchoolinLife,

Yes, you can include a custom content in the body of the email.

Please save the form on https://workspaces.acrobat.com/?d=0n * uLjnmLGX8VlHRCW5n7A and check different options, you can use a button (for programming and GUI) email.

    Kind regards

  • How to restore the Mac hard drive folders on 'Open', 'save' and ' Save as '?

I very recently installed in Yosemite. Shortly after, I went to save an image in a folder "Images", but was surprised to find that not only the folder 'Images' have not shown, but no record showed. Only my Mac hard drive and, in the devices section, three external hard drives attached through it. The only way to make pictures has been to start with the hard drive and browse it. A process of waste of time. So far, all other programs I saved or open documents of Interior still show all photos. This problem seems to be isolated to Photoshop. I checked that all through Photoshop preferences but can find no way to restore it as it was. Help will be appreciated.

You can try to reset the 2015 cc photoshop preferences by going to your user library

(To view your user library, click on your desktop, click the Go menu and hold down the Option key.

Then you should see the words of library, which is your user library.

    ~/Library/preferences)

and by dragging the folder settings Adobe Photoshop CC 2015 in the trash

Also let slide paths in Adobe Photoshop CC 2015 and com.adobe.Photoshop.plist in the trash as well and see if screw up these elements makes a difference.

    1. press the Windows key + R , type secpol.msc in the box, and then click OK .
    2. click on local strategies .
    3. click on user rights assignment .

  • How can I access files shared numbers App on iPhone numbers? I can access the files from a browser via numbers.

So, there are a handful of co-workers involved in this issue. We are trying to find out how, if at this point, it is possible to access a file of numbers shared via iPhone and iPad Mini 6.

We can all see and access this file of numbers shared via a browser on our computers. Trying to find when on a mobile device has proved impossible.  Apple really puts this limitation on the shared files? If so, why?

As far as I know, the only true collaboration is through the browser.

You can give feedback to Apple via numbers > provide comments on the Mac or here for iOSnumbers.
