How to allocate a drive on my system disk space in windows 7

Hi, I want to increase the space in my c drive that I have my system installed, so I used disk management to shrink a drive and drive to extend my 'c', but after the reduction I can't even extend my drive, the position in the menu is not clickable, can anyone help please, thank you very much for taking the time to read of this...

I thank you very much for your answer, but is there another way to proceed without remove the player, see my "d" drive are files from installation to this topic, many of the programs I have installed so backup is going to be difficult, again thank you very much for taking the time to help me, but is there another way?

Hello

This is a problem.

I recommend that you use a third-party Partition Manager. This would allow you to move one of the other scores next to the C: partition.

You could then develop the C: partition for this partition.

The partition manager is free and to achieve this easily.

    Hi Johnm1938,

Disk Cleanup tool detects removes the old compresses files unused for some specified duration and there is no way to decompress these files.

You can use the method mentioned in the article for the unzip compressed on the computer.

  • can I use an external hard drive to increase the disk space and memory on xp?

I am considering an external hard drive of 1 TB to trasmet all files on the computer. There is little hard drive space and memory left. Can I use the external hard drive free space and can it will be installed via USB and use my operating system?

You can use the external hard drive to transfer your data from your internal hard drive.  Cannot move system files (such as Program Files, Windows and swap files) well.  Looks like your use of the word 'memory' made reference to disk space - it normally refers to which an external drive would not affect RAM.  If you mean disk space, however, you can certainly free SPAC drive this way.

I hope this helps.  Good luck.

I need to free up disk space on my Windows XP system.

I need to remove all the system files that are not needed in my C drive.

I noticed that I have two files above in my local disk on my C drive folder.

I can't find any reference to what they are, and if they are needed.

Can anyone provide info on them and if they can be removed.

Also, I get a picture of the record required in my C drive system.

    Hello

I wouldn't say that allows you to delete any system files that are associated with Windows. You can use Disk Cleanup tool to safely remove files that are not required by windows.

How can I get the amount of disk space by using windows 7 Please share example using GetDiskSpace I already studied http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/9958B8E473C4EF1786256BBC0053B64F

Reading your question a little more in detail, I doubt if you are using the Win32 GetDiskFreeSpace API function (including my previous post is the solution) of the function GetDiskSpace from the Toolbox of the programmer.

With respect to the other, it works even with capacity greater than 2 GB disks, but you must use the appropriate formatting code to display the returned value. I updated my example to display the total of free space in the debug output window and added a comparison with the value of 3 GB using UInt64TypeCompareUInt box to tools programming interface.

  • How to fix error of starting non-system disk?

I don't so much mind the error message. It's the loud beep that alerts you when this message appears. I tried to disable the sound by all means possible and it has not yet stopped. In addition, told me that changing the boot order would stop the error message, but when I went into the settings, boot order was very good. It really starts to annoy me. Need help as soon as POSSIBLE!

    Hello Holden,

Thanks for posting your question on the forum of the Microsoft community.

I would like to know some information about the problem so that we can help you better.

    1. What is the full error message when you say, "no system boot disk error?
    2. What is the brand and model of your computer?
    3. have you made any hardware or software changes to your computer recently?

Because the boot order can be changed, it is possible that the computer accesses a no operating system disc in the optical CD/DVD drive. Follow the steps below to remove all the non-system drives and restart the computer.

    a. disconnect all USB or 1394 (Firewire) devices that are connected to the computer.

    b. remove all drives CD and DVD readers.

    c. press and hold the "Power" button for 15 seconds to turn off the computer.

d press and release the "Power" button to turn on the computer.

    I hope this information helps.

  • How to block Web sites except some systems while network in windows XP

    Hello

I use Windows XP and all my network systems have the same operating system.   We do not have the server system, but we are processing regular system as a server...

    My questions are the following,

    1. I want to block all Web sites except some Web sites
    2. in the allowed Web sites, I want to allow only certain sites to download.
    3. I want to do this for all my network systems, and should not be oriented browser...

ex: I want to allow only Google.com, viadeo.com, and monster.com... now, here, the user can download Viadeo.com and monster.com, but not other sites who through google.com. and I want to apply to all systems on my network...

    Please help me if possible?

    Please, I beg you.

    Thank you
    Ravi.

No, you cannot use a standard drink as a 'server' Windows operating system computer and have it force the settings for the other computers on your network.  To do this you would need a server, run a real server OS and use a domain Active Directory to push the settings to your PC.

The first person who responded to your question is basically asking what type of router you have because some routers do not have the ability to block websites in the router, which would mean that no PC inside your network could get on the list Black/blocked sites.  You would need capabilities of your router to see if this is possible or not research.

  • Hard drive full no reason disk space

I just had a dv6 4 weeks ago and it has more than 600 GB of hard drive and now I only have 1.27 MB left. I have no idead how it happened. There is no way I have the programs/software that take a lot of space. Help, please

    Hi DavidPK,

I actually had a friend look into this, for me also and I found the solution through this connection. I downloaded another file that showed me exactly what file it was. It was a file I created the other day. Not sure why it was on 500GBs but I removed it and everything seems fine and I know where to look in the future.

Thank you very much for your help.

  • How to reduce consumption of Essbase log file disk space?

Due to some problems, we must keep the Essbase application at the INFO level log to trace a special message. However, we can not control the size of the log file and the use of these log files from the disk.

We found that there is some configuration settings that can control the maximum file size of each log file:

    AGTMAXLOGFILESIZE
    APPMAXLOGFILESIZE

However we can not yet found a good setting that may limit the maximum use of disc, or the mechanism of rotation of newspapers to recycle the log file or we will say that we must keep the 5GB log file in the log 5 and recycle when the log file is full.

As Glen has rightly pointed out, you can create a routine that runs according to a schedule.

In the past, I wrote apps/scripts that check the size of the logs for each application, if it exceeds the set limit, copy of newspaper, zips the newspaper, then removes the log (essbase command, not just a delete because there is a lock on the file)

This routine can be written in several languages.

  • Windows 7 - How to create installation of the automatic system restore points

After installing Norton 2010 Security Suite, my hp officejet pro 8500 printer stopped printing. When I tried to do a system restore, I found that I had only a restore point and that was created after the installation of Norton.

Under XP, I had restore points created every day, automatically.

How to configure the creation of automatic system restore points in Windows 7 Pro?

    Hello Mikeoncamano,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site

Turn on or turn off System Restore

System Restore regularly changes made to your computer's system files and uses a feature called system protection to create restore points. System protection is turned on by default on the hard disk that Windows is installed. You can enable restoring the system for other disks by turning on system protection for these disks.

You can not turn on protection system for a disc is formatted by using the FAT or FAT32 file systems.

    To turn on System Protection

Open system by clicking Start , right-clicking computer, and then click Properties.

In the left pane, click system protection.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

Under Parameters of Protection, click the disk, and then click Configure.

    Do one of the following:

To be able to restore system settings and previous versions of files, click on restore system settings and previous versions of the file.

To be able to only restore previous versions of files, click only restore previous versions of files.

Click OK, and then click OK again.

    Kind regards

It will create automatically restore points when there are changes to the computer or Windows.

Disable your Norton protection system and check if she created the restore point...
