How to change RAM in Satellite L300D?

The instructions with my new laptop show the new modules of memory must be installed in start mode.
What is the startup mode and how do I me him?

:)
Bootmode-> This confuses most people.
If the phone is off (not in sleep mode and not hibernation), then you can talk more often on the startup mode.

Just close the laptop, unplug the battery and the AC adapter and then try to update the RAM ;)

  • How to change RAM on Satellite A40 - 151

My laptop Satellite A40-151 contains 256 MB of Ram with XP. It has become extremely slow because of microsoft recent service pack updates.

It is impossible to make this work more quickly.
Could someone please suggest me how can I move my ram to 1 GB. Is it supported to upgrade.

Please I guide me otherwise I can't use this system more.

    Hello

Yesterday, the same thing happened to me. Windows has received all MS patches and updates and the laptop everything was not more usable.
It was amazing, slow but after several hours, I managed to install all the updates and now everything works fine.

Laptop you can be upgraded up to 2GB. This is possible. If you want to use max 1 GB I recommend using 2 x 512 MB modules.
You use PC2100 200 pin memory (266 MHz) DDR SODIMM!

You will find the detailed description in your user manual I hope ;)

But I'll post here a small instruction:
The modules are hidden under the keyboard!

-Disconnect all cables and remove the battery
-Slide the latch of the screen at the front of the computer to the right and open the display panel
-Insert a thin object under the edge of the brace of keyboard and lift them from the orthosis
-remove the 2 screws of the keyboard and a screws of the metal structure and raise the metal structure
-Remove the keyboard carefully (the keyboard is connected to the card cable in water. Make sure you do not apply a voltage of this cable and do not attempt to unplug this cable!)
-lift in the sheet of insulation left on the memory module
-Insert a new module into the slot and gently push it downwards so that it lies flat and is fixed by two locks on each side.

    Good luck ;)

  • Satellite C650-124 - guarantee: how to change RAM

    Hello

    I have a toshiba L650 124 with 2 GB of ram
I want to upgrade the ram
Kindly tell me how to do it and what happens if I buy a ram starting from any store (say amazon) and put in the laptop

My warranty is voided by doing this?

    Have a look here:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/Forums/Forum.jspa?forumid=114

This is a nice forum that contains movies and pictures on RAM upgrade on the different laptop models.
I recommend checking the box L630 and L670.

By the way; the replacement of the RAM not to cancel the status of the guarantee as long as you put break anything.

  • How to change HDD on Satellite Pro 430CDT

Can someone tell me where I could find simple instructions telling me how to take apart my old 430CDT to mount a hard drive more? I think replace drive 1.25 GB - with a 4 or 6 GB hard drive assuming the disks that I may need to adapt.

I guess that the hard drive is hidden somewhere under the keyboard, but may not work on how to remove + that + without damaging it.

I have no real experience of this sort of thing - I did nothing more complicated than the new fitting RAM to a less-ancient A120 and change hard drives around on a Satellite 320.

Archives help, unfortunately, but it's fun to read old press releases and ads and see what was considered as performing just twelve or thirteen years - progress in the design of the computer are fast enough, isn't it? Aware that in a couple of years something with less of a terabyte of HARD drive and a quad-core processor will be also awfully outdated and limited my old 430 you like now.

Absolutely no reason practice for this - just out of curiosity and just for fun.

Any suggestion would be appreciated - thanks in anticipation!

    Hello

Replacing the HARD drive is not difficult.
The HARD drive Bay is placed at the bottom of the unit and you can easily access the HARD disk.

To remove the HARD disk drive, follow the steps below.

    1. turn off the power the computer. Unplug the power cord and all external cables connected to the computer.
    2. remove the two screws that fix the backup of HARD drive to the computer chassis.
3 pull the chassis forward by its handle to disconnect the HARD drive.
    4. remove the frame and the brace with the HARD drive.
    5. remove the four screws that anchor the frame on the HARD drive and separate the frame HARD drive.

    That s it

  • How to change videoram on Satellite Pro A120?

    Hello

I own a Satellite Pro A120. The manual says that the A120 is abe to have a maximum of 128 MB videoram (shared memory). I have 512 MB internal memory.
Now he does that less than 8 MB videoram.

I can change it to e.g. 128/64? If so, how?
I am not able to change it in the Bios (Version 3.40).

    Thanks in advance.

From my experience, that is not possible you can not manually change the memory of graphics card everything is controlled by the software (graphics driver).
This means that this driver assigns a certain amount of RAM main memory graphics so it s needed. If a higher graphics card memory is not required while the graphics driver will not assign memory to s shared graphics memory

  • How to replace RAM on Satellite 2450?

I own a Satellite 2450-201 and want to upgrade the Ram. The only problem is to know how to access.

    Anyone know?

    Hello

You won't find the memory locations at the bottom of the unit. As far as I know there are only places to drive HARD, battery and slim select bay.
However, this computer has 2 sticks of memory under the keyboard.

    Please follow these steps:
    1. turn off the power to the computer
    2. remove the power adapter
    3. remove the battery
    4. open the screen and remove the small cover at the top of the keyboard
    5. you will find 3 screws. Remove it
    6. carefully remove the keyboard (please don t forget the flat cable)
    7. raise the insulating sheet covering the module memory to appear the module.

Well, it's not very difficult to upgrde the memory and the entire statement, you will find in the user manual that must be installed on your laptop. Chapter 8

  • How to change keyboard on Satellite P100?

    Hello
Yesterday, I had an accident: spilt Coke all over my satellite p100-115.
Now my keyboard sticks to many buttons. I wanted to clean up. The first button, I've pulled out was RET. But now I can't it again.
Is there anyone who could explain to me how to get out in it the right way?
Or: Is there a way to change the keyboard? If Yes: how much is a new keyboard?

And are there Tips how to clean my keyboard shortcuts? They are also sticky. :/

    Tobi

    Hello

Unique key replacement help much. The entire keyboard needs to be replaced. Like Stefan said please contact partner in your country. You can try to exchange it alone but you will lose the warranty.

I recommend you to make a call and ask how much the replacement will be fresh.
In any case, the keyboard is set with 6 screws and placed undercover KBD, but is not easy to remove this cover. It is fixed with a screw and I don t know exactly where this screw is placed.

    Hello

As Lucky said already support memory Expansion can be found in the lower corner of your laptop and it is fixed with two screws. I hope you have the module that is compatible with this unit.

  • Re: Fan out and how to change on the Satellite A100-309?

    Hello

    My fan no longer works.
Is that someone has already changed? Is how easy it?
I can't find the model of fan of the product specifications. Where can I find the template?

Thanks a lot for your help

    Hello

It of a bit more difficult to change the fan on laptops and on that. I think this should be done by a technician laptop because you should remove it many screws.

In your case I would visit the closest authorized service provider. They can order a new fan and Exchange.
It would be the easiest way for you.

  • How to add RAM on Satellite L70 - B-11 q?

    I would add a barrette of RAM on L70 11 - B - q, how do not hatch.
    Remove the screws, but that
    Thank you

This model of laptop is not separated from the RAM cover and access to the RAM slot is not so easy. In General, upgrading RAM by user is on this machine not supported so that you should not do it alone.
Removal of the top cover on your own may cancel the warranty. In my opinion the guarantee is very important so you shouldn't do it yourself. You can contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help. They can do it for you.

Just for your info: for the removal of the bottom cover, 15 screws must be removed. One of them is hidden.

Have you already started to remove all the screws?

  • How often has RAM of Satellite P100-324?

    Hello

I ' am, thinking about to upgrade my Satellite P100-324 (PSPA6E) 4 GB of RAM, but did not know which one to choose.
Initially, I have installed memory 533 MHz. My question is - 533 MHz limit for this model?
or I can install memory 667 MHz and it will work on 667 MHz?

Also if I install 4 gb - I'll see 3 GB, but will it still runs dual channel mode?

Thanks for you help in advance.

    Hi guys,.

This thing with 4GB-> / 3GB is not uncommon. The chipset is just to take a portion of system memory and turns to shared kept. Unfortunately, the manufacturer of the chipset does not tools release or someone set up a function to decrease/increase the shared video memory.

So, in the case of 4 GB of RAM you have then 1 GB shared video memory.

And what about dual channel: Yes it will still work on two channels.

    Greetings

  • How to find RAM on Satellite Pro M40x slot?

    Hi all

I spent my entire day to find a built in RAM to replace with 1 new but unfortunately and unfortunately I can not find built-in RAM.
I removed the keyboard, but there is that wireless card that I see here. Apartment for her I can't RAM. Can someone help me to replace my RAM please?

    Thank you

As much as I know that some laptops have one slot for expandable RAM and it is downstairs under the cover of RAM. Another module is always placed under the keyboard. On your portable computer must be the same.

The wireless network card must be placed in the Middle, but RAM is probably on the left side. It is perhaps in the small plastic (not fixed with screws). Check it out.

  • Re: How to change German English - Satellite A3 Vista Home

    Hi guys

I have a Toshiba Satellite A300 1HP with Windows Vista home premium.
I bought of the Germany and the Vista is language lanyguage Germany and want to switch to the English language.

    Someone can help me.
    Thank you very much.

    Hello

Joey is right. You can't switch from one to another language. If you want to use the operating system on different languages you need Vista DVD facilities for that language. With other words: you must obtain the Microsoft DVD installations on the English language.

All the necessary drivers, tools and utilities for the English language, you can download it from http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com

  • How to increase Ram on Satellite L305d-S5934?

I need more ram than I thought. / 3GB is not enough. Any advice on what to do?

I'm running itunes/internet explore and it got a little slow

    Hello

Hey Buddy, 3 GB of RAM are sufficient if you use common tools like itunes/internet explore.

In addition, you must know that a 32-bit OS, no matter if it s Vista or Win XP will recognize WHAT 3.2 GB due to the limitation of the 32 bit OS.

I think an upgrade of RAM of 4 GB of RAM is useful if you use the 64-bit Windows OS and if you play high-performance games
