HOW TO CHANGE SATA to RAID mode (SSD CACHE PROBLEM)

Hello

I have a HP Envy 4 1054tx Ultrabook with 500 GB drive HARD + SSD of 32 GB. My HARD drive crashed and replaced it with a new one. Unfortunately, my restore disk does not work so I installed fresh new WIN7. I try to use the SSD caching capability of my laptop (which he did before, when I bought it).  Based on the forums I've read, the SSD cache implementation requires that the SATA controller must be set to RAID mode.  However, when I entered the BIOS, there is no option or the configuration that I can use to set SATA RAID my HARD disk mode.  In this regard, I can't meet one of the requirements of SSD caching.  Here are some of my BIOS Setup.  Can you help me please guys how to work on it? I am not convinced, on how my phone performs without SSD caching.

Thanks in advance.

Hello:

Disk controllers hard HP consumer notebooks cannot be changed from their default values.

More than likely if your model is equipped with a hybrid drive, the speed control is already defined with RAID.

I recommend you to read this blog on how to get this Setup to work on a new install of W7.

  • How to change mini H730P RAID level

    Hello

I read H730P the user guide:

Who mentions the possibility of change of a virtual disk's RAID level, and adding capacity of a virtual disk. However, there are no instructions on how to do it. I looked through all the menus can be found in the BIOS RAID config, I cannot find anything to do with the change of RAID level. I also watched menu iDRAC for storage options.

Can someone point me in the right direction? Currently, I have two physical disks in SAS in a RAID1 and would add more than 3 drives to convert it to a RAID6 and increase capacity.

Install OpenManage Server Administrator, go to storage, PERC, virtual disks and select Reconfigure in drop-down list of tasks available for your table.

  • How to change shortcuts for blend modes?

Hello. I would like to change the default hotkeys for blending modes(brush):

    Default shortcuts in Adobe Photoshop

but I can't find one any of them listed anywhere in the customization window shortcut. Is it possible to customize them all?
And if so, I am able to assign a simple shortcut (F5, F6...)?

    Any help is appreciated!

I'm sure they're hard wires, and you wouldn't be able to use the unique key without modifier anyway.  I expect that you realize that the blending mode shortcuts are context sensitive?  If you have a tool that uses brushes, blending mode shortcuts affect the blending mode of the brush.  Otherwise, they affect the layer.

Have you considered using a keyboard or mouse game?  Logitech gaming keyboards have a number of app sensitive "G - keys" you can program with anything a shortcut to a block of text.  It is very easy to use a set of keys to release of Photoshop shortcuts with a push.  The keyboard below has 12 keys with banks of memory game three, so 36 options.  I use mine for workspaces, perform actions, turn Lee Nezumi on and off etc.   I also use it for Firefox and conclude these discussions of the forum long links with a single touch.

  • Catalyst 4506-E, how to change places in performance mode

    Hi all

I'm going to set up two Catalyst 4506-E with SUP-7th for VSS,

    cat4500e being run-universal. Spa.03.05.01.E.152 - 1.E1.bin and newer ROMMON.

It is also installed in each of them a WS - X 4712-SFP + E.

    For the VSL I want to use a port 10Gig SUP and port 10Gig on the WS - X 4712 - SFP + E.

    Given that the WS - X 4712-SFP + E ports are oversubscribed (2, 5:1) by default.
I would like to reconfigure this performance (for one of the groups of four port) mode.

The commands I've seen this days, but unfortunately can't remember where... :-(

There are many examples for the 65xx but not for the 45xx.

Can someone please what are the correct orders?

    Thanks for the tips

    concerning

    Klaus

    Hello

I don't know or at least have not seen this available on a map of line 4500 VSS command option, now, as you know there are 12 ports on the 4712 in 4 groups of 3 ports ports of each. You must select a port from each group for 10G, will give you no blocking 4x10G performance.

    Select a port in the port groups (1-3), (4-6), (7-9), (10-12).

If you use a 10 G, two other ports within the same group of port will be 1 G, then you end up with 12Gbps by port group which is the bottom connection of basket, turning the card in full non-sursouscrit mode.

    A point on the 4712 - it only works on 4507R 4503-E, 4506-E + E and 4510R chassis E. It does not work in the 4507/4510R-E chassis.

    I hope this helps.

  • How to change the location of the Fast Cache Preview in Color Finesse 3?

I'm on OS X El Capitan (version 10.11), under the new version of After Effects with Color Finesse 3.0.14. The speed of preview in full Color Finesse interface is very slow, so I tried to go in Caches under preferences and by changing the location of the fast preview Cache, but I can't get Color Finesse to use another location. Even if I click Select, and then choose a new folder and press on choose, the location for the Cache remains unchanged (/ users/Mayka/Library/Caches/TemporaryItems). I wanted to put the location of the cache in a folder on my external SSD, but I can't seem to do. Is this a bug or I do something wrong? I tried to restart AE, but it has no effect.

OK, I understand now. Change the location of the cache probably won't speed up the quick preview render phase, but could help in the reading stage, it should certainly be selectable (i.e., we need to fix this bug).

As the phase of rendering speed, Color Finesse must ask executives out of After Effects, so it will never faster than AE. There will also be an additional burden, because the frame is transferred from EI, which will slow down things a bit.

That said, we had a few reports that the 3.0.14 updated to Color Finesse slowed the speed of rendering a little (compared to most early versions of Color Finesse). This is probably due to a difficulty we have made to take account of the more aggressive power management in OS X 10.10 and later versions and Win 8.1 and later. We are currently looking into how we can adjust performance and still not run against the latest operating systems. I don't have a deadline for this that we're still investigating. But it's on our radar!

  • How to change the AHCI SATA in IDE in Windows 7 Home premium?

Please can someone explain how to change SATA from AHCI to IDE settings in windows 7 Home premium?
I tried to find it in the BIOS options is not there

It is probably not possible to change it if it is in the lock settings.  A possible solution would be to connect the drive to another computer that can be set in IDE mode.  Frankly, I'm skeptical about the value of HDD regenerator.  If the drive has bad sectors, it is best to replace it.

  • Y510P - How can I check the size of the SSD Cache?

    Hello

I just took delivery of a Y510P but don't see anywhere how I check the size of the SSD Cache.

The laptop should have come with an 8 GB SSD Cache but how to check this?

    Thank you very much

    Jon

Brayjd, I, too have just received my Y510p, and after reading your post, became curious as well. After trying all the same things you did, without any good results, I went into the Device Manager and got the hard drive part number and google it. It turns out that mine is a hybrid SSD/HD with a SSD 8 GB cache built into the player. A hybrid has the SSD completely autonomous in the HD itself and requires no external software to run. That's why we have found no information on the size - for what is the rest of the computer is the SSD is invisible. Try Googling the part number of the hard drive. I hope this will answer the question for you, too.
