How to connect a macbook pro retina to an external VGA monitor

I have a MacBook Pro of the retina on OS X El Capitan 10.11.3 running. Previously, I could connect a previous MacBook Pro (late 2009) to an external VGA monitor. I was told on the Apple store I could use the mini display in a Flash port dongle to connect to a VGA cable, but when I tried this, the monitor could not get a signal. Is there another dongle I should use? I have a HDMI cable which I assume will work with most modern projectors, but I really want to go to this old VGA monitor for editing in iMovie.

If you go to  > System Preferences > displays made outside monitor to see the place? You want to make sure that the mirror/extension development is enabled. Also, how old is your MacBook Pro?

  • How to connect my Macbook pro (early 2011) with an Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB to a LG34UM57-P for the resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels?

The maximum resolution that I receive is 1080 p not 2560 x 1600 (21 x 9 aspect ratio - ultra wide angle). My adapterw of the display is a Lindy Adapter Mini displayport to VGA/HDMI cable is a normal black HDMI cable.

    Any suggestions please?

Yes... go to Preferences system, then poster and Option + click on scale and see what it does for you.  You should be able to get the maximum

resolution on this monitor, which, as you mentioned is 2560 x 1080. Maybe you could go with just a displayport cable to connect the monitor to your MacBook Pro. I don't know exactly what model or year of MacBook Pro you have, but I guess it's fairly recent. The lindy adapter will do up to 2160 p and not more, so there is that... the only other thing I know is SwitchResX, but you would have to pay a little for that...

so, here's my suggestions, aside from trying an adapter that supports the WQHD... (loan from 4 k) that is all I have

  • How to connect a MacBook Pro with a wire to a Canon Pixma MG7752?

I just bought a new printer with wifi. Because my mom and Dad's cell phone is so old now, wifi is not compatible with the operating system they have, although it works on my MacBook Air. We are now trying to connect a wired, but it does not work. Someone knows how to fix this?

I suggest that you first read the documentation supplied with the printer. Then go to the Canon support site and ask for assistance from their technical support.

You download and install the latest printer driver for use with their version of the OS? It must be installed on their computer. You need to check on the Canon site for a compatible driver to use on their computer and the version of Mac OS X. If this computer has a Wi - Fi connection, then they should be able to connect to the printer. You can also try your computer printer sharing to theirs.

MacBook Pro (retina, 15 inches, beginning 2013) El Capitan 10.11.3, Simple question here: I can't open FinalCut Express (4, I believe). The wheel turns for hours. How can I install/uninstall and will I lose all my old films (for the most part stored on external hard drives). Thanks for your suggestions.

You will not lose anything, but the app if you uninstall. If you decide to uninstall use this app to make sure that all the other files which depends on FCE are also deleted however I can't give you any assurance as to whether you will be able to reinstall so that it works correctly. It is a software that has not been supported for almost 5 years and there are conflicting reports as to its compatibility with OS X 10.11. Can't I test it myself.

Maybe someone else will chime in with their own experiences.

  • MacBook Pro retina connection to HP 23xi problem

    Hello community,

I was faced with a problem, I bought a 13' Macbook Pro retina. Not quite a cheap machine.

But when I connect via HDMI to my HP 23xi , the screen becomes blurred and cut (which I was able to fix in the framework). I tried to play with the features, but simply, it won't be better.

I presume this is because it is the retina, of course. But I bought this monitor, a very nice screen a month ago, and I will not sell it or throw it away.

I bought this Mac for web design, but this isn't the result I was expecting at all.

I saw another post on the RGB fix, although I have not tried because it's not very practical, my problem is not the color, but rather the resolution of pixellation that appears on the screen.

    What should I do?

    My sincere greetings,

    Luisvf7

Looking at the specifications for the MacBook,

    Digital video output Thunderbolt

    • Native of output Mini DisplayPort
    • DVI output Mini DisplayPort to DVI (sold separately)
    • Output VGA Mini DisplayPort to VGA (sold separately)
    • Dual-link DVI output Mini DisplayPort to DVI dual link (sold separately)

    HDMI video output

    • Support for the resolution of 1080 p at 60 Hz
    • Support for the resolution of 3840 by 2160 to 30 Hz
    • Support for the resolution 4096 by 2160 at 24 Hz

I consider using a Mini DisplayPort adapter to DVI dual digital video link Thunderbolt.

You will not get the display resolution of 2560 x 1600 that your MacBook Pro is capable of on your HP display because the display is not capable of this. Specifications for display

  • How can I upgrade (where to buy) the SSD storage for my macbook pro retina 15 "?

I currently have 256GB on my mac, which is far from enough. as far as I know, the macbook pro get a SSD sata-m and I would buy more. I can buy it on the Apple site?

Apple does not sell any upgrade to the MacBook Pro retina. If you want to upgrade the internal memory, the connector is not standard m-SATA so your options are limited. One of the few places improvements are available is MacSales.com, who is a seller very good reputation (I bought many improvements to them):

OWC SSD Flash storage upgrades - MacBook Pro with the retina 13 "& 15" 2012 - beginning 2013

On this page, you'll see also that they sell a pen, so that you can use the drive out you of your Mac as an external drive.

  • No sound when connecting the Macbook Pro to ext speakers.

    I have a MacBook Pro (retina, 15 ", mid-2014) running OSx 10.11.6 (El Capitan).

It has a combined audio port 1/8 "for two speakers and a microphone. The internal speakers work very well and the port works very well with a helmet. What does not work must connect external powered speakers like the computer speakers or the port on a radio. It worked perfectly with all other computers that I have ever owned, and judging from the page linked below it should work for this computer, too, so what's the problem?

Connect your Mac to a Hi-Fi, iPod, iPad, musical instruments or loudspeakers - Apple Support

I tried it with a 1/8 "cable this single sound of the door (no tape for micro), and (when it does work), I tried to first insert an adapter that split the audio and microphone, but it does not solve the problem.

    How to make this work?

I found the problem. When I plugged a cable into the headphone jack, the Mac automatically turned to the low volume - assuming I have connect headset. This is why I couldn't hear it. I open the sound applet in the system area and pushed back the volume of output to the top and voila - fixed.

Connect an audio interface to a USB port to have an audio input, or insert a divider entry in the headphone port. You need additional hardware to have an audio input.
