I wanted to use the HP recommended program to make my PC find the printer but the program could not find it. After trying for more than five hours, finally my PC shows the printer icon in printers and devices, but when I want to print a page, nothing

  is happening. I would like to know whether a parallel/USB cable works for this kind of problem and if so, what kind of cable. I would also like to know what driver I have to use and where to find it.

It works in theory, but in practice you transfer data from one type to a machine that includes an any other type of information. When these data are transformed, most of the time printing won't work either, or it will show errors.
