  I agree with James. AFAIK for AOL users there is an AOL software that needs to be preinstalled. By using this software, you can configure DSL connection.

  By the way: do you use modem for DSL connection only or also a router between your laptop and the DSL modem?

  OK Let's start over with what you do because you didn't specify if you did or not:

  (1) make sure you've got a COMPLETE Oracle 10 g installed client (check with your DBA). CLIENT Oracle NOW only is NOT supported.
  (2) make sure that the user OBIEE that you use to run the OBIEE services has read and execute permissions on all files under ORACLE_HOME for the Oracle customer that you want to use. Even better if you install the Oracle client with the same user that the OBIEE uses to perform the services.
  (3) make sure that your customer of Oracle 10 g has 32bits OIC installed libraries (check in the directory ORACLE_HOME/lib32 there library libclntsh.so.10.1 and its size is larger than 0 bytes). OBIEE uses 32-bit libraries.
  (4) configure your /OracleBI/setup/user.sh OBIEE file to make sure that your variables ORACLE_HOME and TNS_ADMIN are set correctly for the correct values. You must also set these two:

  export PATH = $ORACLE_HOME/bin: $PATH
  export LD_LIBRARY_PATH = $ORACLE_HOME/lib32: $LD_LIBRARY_PATH

  (5) export all 4 variables above in your current session and test that you can solve your database name by "tnsping DB_NAME.
  (6) restart all your services OBIEE and check that all the variables are set correctly (type "env").

  After doing all that give it a try and let us know if it works.

  Start the installation of recovery, don t change simply follow the menu on the screen and try to start the recovery image installation.

  I don't know how old is your laptop, but almost all older TVs have a separate channel that can be used if the external device is connected. Check your TV remote control. There must be a button with the symbol that looks like the right arrow that shows in the circle.

  There is no way to connect an external cable monitor such that HDMI port is entered only.

  Your only solution would be to use the wireless display option in the settings, but you would need a monitor/TV/adapter that would work as a Miracast receiver.  I'm not sure specific screens that function as receptors, but I used adapters are the PTV3000 Netgear and Actiontec SBWD100A01,.
