How to connect to Oracle no third of bpel Server

Hello

I want to know best way to connect to databases oracle not like MS SQL Server, DB2 etc. I found third party drivers must be installed. But for this we need to buy these products too.

A better idea about it. I need the bpel DB2 connection. I want to avoid any additional license purchase.

I appreciate all the comments.

Hello

You can use the DataDirect JDBC drivers to connect to DB2.

Here is the download link:

Certification matrix to see which version of donwnload

And finally how to configure it for DB2:

I am very new to this CDC datamirror, more I am new to figure out how db2 connect to oracle, it is only through db link or what? or is it tnsnames entry?

I wish someone in this forum can point me in the right direction.

    Hello

What do you not sure about?
If Oracle can be the site of conduct, you can use the gateway for DRDA database and we can help you with that. If you need assistance on setting up DataMirror CDC to connect to Oracle, then you will need to contact IBM because it is one of their products.

  • How to connect to Oracle 11 g 2 of CF9

    Hello

How to connect to Oracle 11 GR 2 64 bit, database of CF9?

In CF administrator no Oracle driver is available.

I need to install the Oracle Client software on server hardware where the CF9 server is installed?

If so, is the Oracle Instant Client is enough or do I need to install the full oracle client?

    Any idea?

    cordially Claudia

I assume you are using the Standard edition? Native drivers for Oracle come with CF9 Enterprise, you will need to download the JDBC drivers from Oracle's Web site.

    Hello

I installed Oracle 10.2.0 (Enterprise Edition) on my laptop at home. And with SQL * Plus, I login as sys and created a user Charles (with the password pwd), and I granted the DBA role to this user. SQL * more messages saying that the user has been created and the role (the DBA role has been granted). When I log on to Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Database Control as a user Charles (with the password pwd that I gave to the creation of the user) as usual (in the 'Connect as' drop-down), I check that the Charles user has DBA profile. My problem is that when I try to connect to Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Database Control as a user Charles (with the pwd password that I gave to the creation of the user) and as SYSBA+, one error message is displayed: your user name and/or password is not valid.
Please, how do I connect to to Oracle Enterprise Manager 10 g Database Control as a user Charles (with the password pwd that I gave to the creation of the user), but as SYSDBA?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Oracle Applications Architecture is a framework for distributed computing and at several levels that supports Oracle Applications products. In this model, different servers are divided in several levels/levels as follows:

-The Office of the range--> browser with Jinitiator or Sun JRE
---> Web servers, forms, States, Admin and simultaneous Application layer
-The layer of database--> Oracle Enterprise Edition database

The Application layer is the layer that is responsible for:

-The different servers that deal with the business logic of accommodation
-Manage the communication between the Office of the range and the database layer

So, to connect to the database, you can access the application layer, or connect directly to the base. I don't think that it is possible to communicate with the application to another application services. Therefore, you must connect directly to the database which can be carried out as explained in my previous answer. There is no such API that can be used to open and close a database connection. Oracle E-Business Suite is just a database with number of patterns and objects that are perfectly integrated.

If you are using VS 2008, I advise to use the last available ODP.NET, 11.1.0.6.20. There was a difficulty added to the 10.2.0.4 release and above that best ensures you won't see the error "provider is not compatible with the version of the Oracle Client." Using one of these newer versions will probably solve this specific problem.

    I don't know what version 2.5.7 designates.

We are modernizing our E-Business suite 11i database to 10.2.0.3.

The E-Business suite upgrade request notice to install "Oracle Database 10 g products" Companion CD on 10g of the House. Oracle default workflow server is included in the guide installation with a CD Type 'Install a database Oracle 10 g products'. However the installation document CD companion says that don't install Server workflow on the database of trade electronics uite, as indicated below.

Now how can I exclude the Oracle workflow installation CD companion server?

    ================================
Note: Do not install Oracle Workflow Server in Oracle E-Business
Office database. If you want to use the version of Oracle Workflow
available with Oracle Database 10g, or any Oracle database
components that depend on the version of Oracle Workflow, then you
need to install the Oracle of Workflow Server in a database that is not used

For an Oracle E-Business Suite database, you can continue to use the

    John,

You should ignore the steps under "Preparing Oracle Workflow Server for the Oracle Workflow Middle Tier Installation", but the workflow will be installed as part of the accompanying CD (select option 2 - products of Oracle database)

  • How to connect to Oracle 12 c with SQLPLUS 6i

    Hi people:

I have people who still need to use the client of 6i SQLPlus.   They were able to connect to our previous database (11g R2) ok.  People who use more recent versions of SQLPlus can connect ok to the Oracle 12 c database that we use.

Does anyone know what setting (and how) I want to change the database Oracle 12 c to allow access to an earlier version of SQLPlus?

    Thank you

    Matthew

I have people who still need to use the client of 6i SQLPlus.

6i is not the version of the Client, but the forms & reports one, the version of the Client is 8.0.6, too old to be used with the database of 12 c.

See MOS Client / Server interoperability Support Matrix for Oracle Versions (Doc ID 207303.1)

BTW, I tried with a client 9i, and I've got ORA-28040: no authentication protocol matching error, as mentioned in the document and 8.0.6 is even two older versions.

  • How to connect to Oracle 8

    Dear Experts,

I am in need of connection to a lower version of Oracle (version 8) as one of the sources of DW.
I tried to connect directly via the Oracle Module, but it failed.

Could someone enlighten me please on this subject

    OWB & DB Version: 11.2.0.1

    Thanks in advance
    Rlap

    Hi Rlap,
problem with connection of OWB11g to the old database is Oracle compatibility between different Oracle client/server releases.
Compatible combination, you can get Metalink note "Client / Server / interoperability between Oracle Versions support" (id Note 207303.1).
In your case, you can try to use Oracle 9.2 additional data bases - create in this database schema, and then build in this view of schema with db-connect to Oracle8 database.
    for example:
Create view v_oracle8_table in select * from oracle8_table@dblink_oracle8

Then in OWB create location and module that refer to the Oracle 9.2 database.

Or you can try to use generic connectitvity (connect to Oracle8 with ODBC) - in this case, you need to install old Oracle (for example Oracle 8.1.7) client with the ODBC for Oracle driver.

    Kind regards

  • How to determine the Oracle Max process on Windows Server settings

Currently I have Oracle 11.2.0.1.0 running

    The issue now is:

How to determine what is the maximum value that I can set the process?

I guess that's the operating system and hardware dependent, but I can't find documentation on this topic.

We shouldn't just work the PROCESS parameter for the maximum number of BONES.

More processes that you have, more will consume PGA the oracle Instance, i.e. more memory will be used on your server.

You should check v$ resource_limit see if it really reached setting TREATY limits, if yes increase the parameter appropriately so that the high tide of use remains about 80% of the value of the parameter. Check if the number of sessions dedicated process is really necessary, otherwise you can consider the use of database resident connection pooling or a shared server or tuning configuration opening less sessions on the database.

Depending on how much you increase, take a look at the view of PGA advice after a workload of the cycle of V$ PGA_TARGET_ADVICE and V$ MEMORY_TARGET_ADVICE.

RDS faq seems to say you can't do, you export instead, but I don't know enough about it to know if it's relevant.  Perhaps you should ask support Amazon or an Amazon RDS on board.  It could be a case of "If you do not have access through the dashboard, you can not see it" automated backup Amazon RDS - Stack Overflow
