How to copy the contents of the hard drive to new hardrive on Tecra 9100?

I just got my new hardrive and need to copy the content from the old to the new. The new hardrive came with no additional software. I have Norton Ghost, so, naturally, I went to the Hardrive copy tool to see that it lists my current hardrive to copy to. How can I copy the contents if I need to install the hard drive? I mean, surely, that it won't do anything if I just put the new hardrive?

Help, please!

Hello

about your hard drive and the size, it's easy, just follow these steps:

Go to "Control Panel"-> "Administration tools"-> "Computer management"-> "Disk Management" and then activate the partition not formatted by right-clicking on the "Unallocated" part and click on 'New Partition The rest is easy to achieve.

And what about the USB-Caddy: they are cheap, you can get every electronic market for $ 10, so it shouldn´t be a big problem. :)

    Hi @Diane47,

Thanks for joining the Forums of HP Support with your request to printer.

I understand that you have a HP Officejet Pro 8500 has e-all-in-one printer you plan to elimination and you wonder if the hard disk is encrypted and how to destroy the hard drive. I would like to help with that.

HP Officejet Pro 8500 has e-all-in-one printer don't have a hard drive. It contains a very small amout of memory, so it can keep in memory the printer and fax settings.

You can clear the memory by restyoring the printer back to the default values.

    1. on the printer Panel, select Setup.

    2. from the Configuration menu, select Tools.

    3. on the Tools menu, select Restore Factory Defaults.

    Hi Frank,.

I'm not too sure about the P10, but on my A30 the hadr drive is under the DVD-ROM. It is secured in place by a single screw (accessible from under the laptop), and when it is deleted the DVD-ROM slides just to place revealing the hard drive.

The hard drive is fixed with 4 screws (2 on each side)

    Hi Tim,.

The hard drive on your SA30 is in the optical drive, but slide the optical drive out of its housing (undo the F5 marked screws on the bottom of the laptop).

The hard drive will be visible fixed with four Phillips head screws that need to be removed (two on each side of the hard drive. With the removed screws, gently slide the hard drive toward the front of the laptop to disconnect its connector and carefully pull it out of its Bay.

  • How to reformat the hard drive and do a "clean" install

A recent virus attack, my computer has lost some files of the operating system.  With the help of the Lim has provided the recovery disk, which offered ' upgrade/repair' or a 'new installation '.  I chose ' install new ', actually I found many of my files are still there - that means that if a virus has escaped "Detection / removal" will always be there.

Question: How to reformat the hard drive and do a 'fresh install' on a clean hard disk "? ". (I have a drive to Win XP with service pack 3 and a driver disk for the hardware installed on my computer of the regulations.)

    Thanks in advance

    Skip

Since you have a Dell and a recovery CD and not a recovery Partition, check how many partitions you need by using disk management:

    http://www.theeldergeek.com/disk_management.htm

In case you have a partition with the operating system and a partition of the utility partition, I would only recommend formatting the partition from the OS. The Partition utility can be very useful.

  • How to access the hard drive USB on E3000? Am I missing something?

Am I missing something simple?  I use Windows XP.

Click on start - go to start > Run/start search and type "\\192.168.1.1" (without the quotes) and press on enter and it should ask the user name and password, the user name and password, use "admin" all lower case, and then click Ok... Now you should be able to see your USB... You must make a right click on it and select "Map network drive" and check the Enable box and below click Finish... It will map the USB on your computer... • How to copy a catalog of external hard drive to the hard drive of the computer to use smart insights not connected to the external hard drive?

I am very new to LR5. I put LR5 in place so that my catalog and photos are on an external hard drive. I discovered that when not connected to the hard drive, LR5 can't find my catalog, therefore, I can't do any editing in intelligent insights, unless it is connected to an external hard drive. How can I fix this so that I can edit photos without being connected to an external hard drive. Is it possible to copy the catalog out of the hard disk on the computer's hard drive or I have to re-establish a new catalog using LR5? Must the catalog always be loaded onto the hard drive? Thank you in advance.

Yes that's correct. The LR catalog must be on the computer's internal drive. Then when you have smart previews activated you can change the image without going through the reader that they are connected. When you connect this drive images will be updated.

Simply COPY these 4 folders on your internal drive in a folder called Lightroom catalog that you create. Then open LR and go on the file menu point and select open catalog. Navigate to the folder you created called catalog in Lightroom and select the Lightroom Catalog.lrcat 5 file and click Open. Once restart Lightroom open change preferences, > preferences, and under the general tab, in the catalog default section make sure that "when starting to use this catalogue:" listings in the area where you copied the files. Something like Macintosh HD/Wherever, have created it this folder/that folder name/Lightroom catalog.lrcat 5.

  • Satellite A200 - how to replace the HARD drive?

Hey, I recently some strange problems with my laptop. I installed a new copy of Windows Vista and also tried with Windows 7 a few times. But eveytime I get problems. The installation of the operating system right. But after I installed some Windows updates my computer becomes very slow and at some point, I am unable to install any application, because it crashes just when installing... This happends with all the big software products such as Visual Studio, 3d Max, After Effects... etc.

So I think that my HARD drive has a large number of bad sectors. I also tried to erase everything on my drive with KillDisk, but it hangs at 16%. Once again something that seems to be my HARD drive.

But before you buy a new, I'd like to hear your opinions on my problem and I would also like to know how I have to replace my HDD on a Toshiba Satellite a200. I don't know where it is placed and what parts I need to unscrew.

    Thanks for any help.

    Hello!

The HARD drive is placed on the underside of the laptop.

The HARD drive on the underside Bay is fixed by two screws. Remove the screws and the HARD drive. Then you can swap the HARD drive.
But unplug the AC adapter and remove the battery before doing this.

The new HARD disk must have the SATA interface.

    Good bye

  • How to clean the hard drive of the computer

I need to know how to erase my hard drive to get rid of a virus

    Hello Nguyen,

Thank you for visiting Microsoft Community.

I understand you want to wipe your hard drive to remove any infection by the virus from your computer.

I would be grateful if you can provide us with the following information to help us better understand the issue.

    1. When you say 'I need to wipe my hard drive to get rid of the virus', do you mean you want to remove the virus from your computer or to completely erase your hard drive by erasing all the data on it?
    2. You want to clean install a new copy of Windows on your computer after removing all your data from the hard drive?

If you do not want to delete all your data and do not want to clean your computer of viruses, you can scan your computer with the Microsoft Safety Scanner.

Download and run Microsoft security scanner from the link below.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

However, if you want to completely clean your computer, just remove the hard drive and pure, install a fresh copy of Windows on your hard drive, you can read the article below to do so.

How to perform a new installation of Windows?

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/clean-install

Important note: Perform a clean installation will mean that all your data currently on your hard disk will be permanently lost. It is strongly recommended to have all your important data saved enough on any driver external before performing one of the suggestions above.

Hope this information is useful. Do not hesitate to write back for any further assistance with Windows, we will be happy to help you.

  • How to partition the hard drive

Hi, anyone knows how to disable partition the hard drive? Getting sick of the transfer of information between C: and E: Paulette

Go to control panel, administrative tools, computer management, disk management.

Do right click on E a remove it. After that, you should be able to enlarge C with right click and choose the option of not. But you'll have to save files on E first, so as not to lose them.

If this does not work for any reason, you will still be able to use 3rd programs like partition magic. I've used several times and I am very happy with it.
