Now, I want these processes link to some external documents explaining these processes. I managed to do it, but the link works on all layers, the actual menu is visible or not. The current structure is created in Illustrator and then exported into PDF file. In Acrobat, I added the buttons to toggle the different layers.

  My question is to this effect:

  Note that it has currently a bug in the way annotations work on a BCG. The link will disappear, but the bounding box of the link will remain active access point. In your case however the bug can be useful, as if two link objects overlap part of the page and isn't on a BCG, turn off the BCG neutralizes indeed the hotspot.

  Looking at the example, I think that the link is most likely a nonprinting button. Attached is a pdf example and screenshots of the parameters used.
