  I hope that this one will be good and useful for you. Each new laptop comes with the pre-installed operating system. When you pay the notebook also purchased operating system. A single copy and license belongs to you. Toshiba create a disc of recovery for clients, and this recovery disk contains the operating system, all necessary drivers, Toshiba designed tools and utilities and also some applications like WinDVD or Norton antivir software.   My friend has a M70 396 and has no recovery disk and can't seem to windows or recovery console.

  I tried to him order the CD from the link of media recovery on this site but it is said that they do not have the disks for 2007 models or earlier.

  I have a DVD of my own M50, which is a bit older, but has the o/s-I guess that it wouldn't work?

  If not, where can I get one from? He got one in the box or he lost so I don't know what to do except buy a Windows CD and do it from scratch but prefer to perform the Toshiba recovery if possible.

  I can imagine authorized in your country service provider has one in archive and can give you for the installation of the OS. If this isn't the case, it is not the end of the world.
  For the installation of the OS you can use the Microsoft WXP installation disc. All the necessary drivers, tools and utilities that you can download at Toshiba support page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > support & downloads.

  Usually the recovery CD, you can get the Toshiba ASP. BUT you bought the laptop in China. In this case you will not be able to order the CD image of Toshiba in the English language. You can only get a restore CD in the same language, where you bought the laptop.

  But if you want to have the English language operating system, install the Windows from the original CD of Microsoft English.
  You can download Toshiba drivers and utilities form the Toshiba site and install it.

  I said maybe, because I m not leaving of course if the recovery for Sat M70 disc is available because the recovery disk for older models of laptop could be interrupted.

  So I want just to renew my old driver ATI MOBILITY x 700, it is now v6.14 and when I checked the site driver ATI, they have the latest one, v7.12. But the driver did not work on my laptop Satellite M70. It runs first validation to check if they can install the entire driver in my system, and it just says: "thank you for your interest in CATALYST, unfortunately, this software update can not be installed on your system, please contact the manufacturer of your laptop for the driver updates.
