  In fact the part circle of your example is just a unique, path path, so we really don't know what you want in terms of "parallel curve."

  In any case, a specific way to get parallel lines of any kind is using delay of path.

  When you place the highlighter tool it will switch to text selection mode (IE, straight lines), but when you place the mouse over another content type it switches back on mode "Feather".

  Here's a way to kind of work.

  

  Use the lag effect (CS3) and fill with a gradient.

  Note that the gradient is not actually 'follow' but where it is located (in this case) horizontally.

  I use the default style sheet that comes with TestStand 2013 (TR5_Horizontal.xsl). Some of my test steps pass multiline text to Step.Result.ReportText. I use an adapter of LabVIEW and channels are cocatenated with the constant EOL.

  Unfortunately, when I open the ATML report, the end of the line to print - multiple lines get crushed in a long series.

  How can I print multiple lines? I found a reference to RemoveIllegalCharacters in http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/370052K-01/tsfundamentals/infotopics/report_stylesheets_deta... but may not know how to use it.

  It is a known issue with ATML5 style in 2012 TestStand sheets, and we actually created a modified version of the style sheets to implement this feature for ReportText.   I'm also going to attach a .zip file containing the three leaves of ATML5 updated style.

  On a side note, you're on the right track with the RemoveIllegalCharacters - basically, updated style sheets call it this function for ReportText data as it is being processed in the style sheet.

  EDIT: I thought it might be useful I showed exactly the situation I have here.  I circled the two spots where I need to be able to edit the text.  As you can see on the yellow triangle, I was juggling with masks to try to understand this.

  These four panels is arranged as cards to play, with the name of each participant and the suit of the card at the top and bottom.  The problem is that you map overlays another, so I need to be able to cut name Thaddeus of the Sultan on the left and the J (for Jack of hearts) on the right.

  All the texts of four cards are on different layers, with works of art and the word balloons and text on layers separate as well.

  I THOUGHT ABOUT IT!  Trial and error, I just kept going through the possibilities until I found a combination that worked.  Thanks, Silkrooster, to show me the right path!

  Here's what I did (just for someone else who finds this and needs the solution to a similar problem).

  1. I put my yellow triangle ON the part of the text I wanted to keep in this case, the curvature of the J and the symbol of the heart.
  2. I selected the triangle layer so the layer J/heart.
  3. In the window of transparency, I used the pop-up menu corner (I'm in CS4) to check "new opacity masks are clipping" and make sure that the "...» are reverse' option has not been verified.
  4. I chose to "make opacity mask".

  That's all!  Ta - dah!

  To explain in detail, I have a text element (let's say Input_Text_item - a multiline value yes property) which would not. values as input (possibly by copy/paste), a button - pressed, it should take each value 'Input_text_item' (line by line) and pass the value to a stored procedure and display the result in another element of text (which has the property multiline set to Yes) I say "Output_text_item".
  
  Now the problem is to know how to read "Input_Text_item" multiline values I am only able to read the unique value. When I try the multi-line values, it gives me "FRM-50024: space run posts only" error.

  If I understand correctly, you want to send each line (MLT) multiline text item as a separate parameter a stored procedure. If this is correct, then you will need analyze the different lines of the TRM in the values of the individual parameters. This can be done by analyzing the MLT using the Carrage return [Chr (13)] and line break characters [Chr (10)] in the MLT as separators and delimiters of each value. There are some good examples of how to cut a string multiple values (or an array). Here are a few good examples:

  These two methods can be easily adapted to research on the characters of Chr (10) and Chr (13), so you can analyze your TRM.

  You're welcome, Neil and no need to apologize.

  You can have a look at the link of Jeanette in post #4; It shows the final results.

  Here are the instructions in the first post with an extension of 3):

  (1) create the circle with the width desired form of weight of the race;

  (2) create a V-shaped path with two segments on top of the circle where the first gap should be, longitudinally extending outside the race of the circle and with a weight of race for the gap;

  (3) copy and place in order to have all forms of V where you want the gaps; You can do that by rotating round copies in the center of the circle 1), this can be done in different ways, one being to create a concentric circle of the auxiliary that extends beyond the V shape and rotation of the copies of the V shape using the object and which > transform > Rotate and insert the desired values and then remove the auxiliary circles;

  (4) select all and object > path > Outline Stroke.

  (5) pathfinder > before (subtraction of ares of form in older versions, perhaps by pressing Alt/Option to extend).
