How to delete songs duplicate on my music folder?

I have a few folder location how managed to double my music in my music on the computer... How can I remove them without individually select and delete?

Hello

You have an in Windows Explorer or Windows Media Player duplicate songs?

If the songs twice in Windows Explorer it can only be manual selection and deletion, if you duplicate songs in Windows Media Player. I suggest you follow the steps mentioned below:

Method 1:

If only a small number of duplicate entries exist, try the following:

a. click on the Windows "Start" and select "programs". Click on "Windows Media Player" to launch the media player.

b. click on the "library" tab You should see a list of media files uploaded to the Windows Media Player library. Browse and search for files duplicate in the library. Duplicate files share the same name and usually appear side by side.

c. right click on files duplicate you want to delete and click 'delete '. Repeat the steps to delete all of the duplicate in your Windows Media Library.

For any consultation remove you items from the Windows Media Player library:

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/remove-items-from-the-Windows-Media-Player-library

Method 2:

If you have a large number of entries in doubles in your library (or if your library is duplicated), it might be better to create a new library.

To resolve this problem, delete the Windows Media Player database. To do this, follow these steps:

a. exit Windows Media Player.

b. click Start, click Run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Playerand then click OK.

c. Select all files in the folder and then click on Delete on the file menu.

a. Note: you don't have to remove the folders that are in this folder.

d. restart Windows Media Player.

Note: Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

    Hello

    Method 1:
I would recommend you to rebuild the database of Windows Media Player and see if the problem is resolved.

    Here's how:
To resolve this problem, delete the Windows Media Player database. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. exit Windows Media Player.
    2. click on start, run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player, and then click OK.
    3. Select all the files in the folder and then click on Delete on the file menu.
Note: You don't have to remove the folders that are in this folder.
    4. restart Windows Media Player.
Note: Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.
    Method 2:
If this does not resolve the problem, disable the Windows Media Player database cache files.

To do this, follow these steps:
    1. exit Windows Media Player.
    2. click on start, run, type % LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft, and then click OK.
    3. Select the Media Player folder, and then click on Delete on the file menu.
    4. restart Windows Media Player.
    Method 3:
When you move digital media files on your computer, the file name and file path information remain unchanged in your library. Then when you select a file to play to its new location, a new entry is created in your library if you select the option automatically added to your library when played. As a result, your library can quickly contain a large number of entries, duplicate or invalid.
To prevent it be automatically added to your library of music files

    1. in Windows Media Player, on the Tools menu, click Options.

    2. on the Player tab, clear the files of music to add to the library when played check box.

Now, when you play music on your computer or the Internet, the file will not be added automatically to your library.

    Method 4:
In the case where the duplicates are not removed:
There are also third-party applications to do the job. You can search your favorite search engine and download third-party software to remove the tracks in Windows Media Player 12 duplicate.

  • Please help me with how to delete songs

I tried to read through messages and can't seem to find a way to do it. I'm not big on it like before I just used an ipod. I just got an e260 v1.  I have read and found out that I had to change my itunes in mp3 format I did.  Then, I downloaded Media Player 11 and got my songs on it.  Now I can't understand how to delete songs that I don't want the reader because I know that you can't do with v1. I tried to delete them in WMP and then synchronize, but they are still there.  Why is it so difficult! Any help with this simple (I hope) issue is greatly appreciated.

Yes!  I did it.  I am so happy.  Thanks a lot for all the helpful tips in this forum.

  • How to delete songs that came on my Sansa Fuze?

My Sansa Fuze came with 19 songs on what I want to delete but I don't know how.  When I plug in my Sansa Fuze in my computer the songs do not appear on my computer but they are on the device when I use it.  They are not in the 'Music' folder or any folder when I manage the device to my computer.  Can someone tell me how to remove these unwanted songs?

If you don't have any other music/photos/videos etc.  on the "rocket", or you have copies that you are ready to transfer again, the best way to get rid of these songs is to format the "rocket" that erases all content (but does not change its integrated software). Settings from settings/system/Format.

Or if you have a friend with a new Windows computer, you can see the songs and delete them yourself.

Why can't you see these songs? It's a long story, but a bit simple.

The "rocket" has two modes USB, MSC and MTP (Settings/System Settings/USB Mode). They have two different lines in the "rocket" and your computer can only read one at a time. (The "rocket" sees it bit any mode).

The songs of the sample were transferred in MTP mode. But your computer connects via MSC - my favorite - mode so it cannot see them.

MSC treats the "rocket" as a generic flash drive. You can drag and drop manually, or if you want you can use Winamp or Media Monkey to sync things.

MTP allows the "rocket" be controlled - sync, etc. - by Windows Media Player 10 or higher. It allows also WMP transmit codes DRM (Digital Rights Muck) hidden-in-the-user for things like the songs protected against copying and audiobooks that expire. Probably not, you use those.

The idea was to have the equivalent of iTunes/iPod of coordination for the majority of users - but also for the greater freedom and control of Maritime safety, if a user wants to change. No Windows, on Mac or Linux users, find yourself on MSC as well.  The only real requirement for MTP mode is for DRM files.

On a computer that has Windows Meda Player 10 or higher, Auto Detect mode the "rocket of" (the third choice in Settings/System Settings/USB Mode) - which is what the "rocket" uses unless you changed it - connects in MTP mode and these songs will be visible and removable. That's why it would be simpler to use PC a friend Windows - Vista, Windows 7, etc.

The original Windows XP comes with Windows Media Player 9 - a too old version for PSG. If you are running XP you could update WMP (via support.microsoft.com) to empty these songs. Then, you must return to the MSC (not Auto Detect) and do all what you did previously to transfer your music., you'll have all your visible songs by you.

  • How to delete songs that have been transferred by bluetooth?

I transfer me some photos and songs from my powerbook to my new Crush. I don't have a microSD card, so the songs and images simply went in various places on the phone. For example, the images went in the pictures folder, and song I transferred went to the settingssounds: ringtones & alerts: call tone: alerts: music. When I click on music I can listen to samples and select the song to play when someone calls me (or I can listen to it on the speaker phone. However, there is no option to remove this song from the phone.

I thought that the song could use the multimedia menu option, under the ring tones or sounds, but is not in one of these locations.

Anyone know how to delete a song that has been transferred to the crowd via bluetooth (which do not go in the music player)? I would like to know how to take these songs I transferred out of my phone, so I did not run all the preloaded space.

    Any ideas would be useful.

    Brad

On your crush: he reveals in: settings > memory... (scroll down to find) > Phone memory > photos, videos, music, sounds, my bluetoothed (old ringtones) went to the music.

Drag Lt has Rt on the name of tones to mark it with a red bar (Rt lt to deselect)... then choose > erase.

If you get a memory micro SD chip, you can transfer to the chip instead of delete here too.

  • Why are there so many duplicates in my music folder?

I went in my iTunes Media/Music folder to find a song corrupt and noticed that most of my music has been duplicated once or several times.  There is the original song and the other with a '1' or '2' some time after the title.  That's happened?  I guess that I should not worry but I have only approximately 3,500 songs in iTunes, but there are now more than 10,000 files in this folder and duplicates are taking up more than 50 GB.  What can I do about it without screwing up iTunes and how do I keep it doesn't happen?  Thank you.

One possible approach is to use the file > add folder to library to add the iTunes Media folder, and then everything that is currently in the press kit and is not already connected to the library will be added to it. You can then deduplication.

iTunes can create duplicates if the same content is added several times from outside the media folder when it is about to make copies of everything that is added to the library, or is added from an external drive that hosts the press kit that was disconnected during the launch of iTunes.

Official notice of Apple on the duplicates is here: find and remove duplicates in your iTunes library. This is a manual process and article fails to explain some of the potential pitfalls such as the lost coast and membership of playlist, or sometimes the same file can be represented by multiple entries in the library as well as a removal and recycling the file will break all the others.

Use MAJ > view > show items to reproduce exactly to display the duplicates because it is normally a selection more useful. You must manually select all but one of each group to remove. Sort the list by Date added can make easier select appropriate tracks, but it works better when executed immediately after the dupes were created.  If you have several entries in iTunes connected to a same file on the disk hard then don't not send to trash.

Use my DeDuper script (Windows only) If you are not sure, do not want to do it by hand, or want to maintain ratings, play counts and playlist membership. See this background thread , this post for detailed instructions and Please take note of the warning to back up your library before deduping.

(If you don't see the menu bar press ALT to temporarily view or CTRL + B to keep displayed.)

The latest version of the script can put away the dead links as long as there is at least a double live to merge his stats and membership of the playlist and must deal wisely when the same file has been added through multiple paths.

There are many utilities of Duplicate File Finder available on the web.

Make a backup of the folder music before you launch, manage the finder and will offer more deduplication for you but the challenge is to identify the file to delete and keep.

This clears the real files, cleaning of the library can be just as problematic. The common solution is to delete/rename the library and rebuild from the file store.

  • How to delete songs in media player duplicate?

I saw an answers on how prevention, but that did not help me.

In WMP, please enable the column path, right click on a column heading (for example, title) and select choose columns.

So now you take two duplicate songs and compare their paths, are the same or different paths? If they are different, what are the exact paths?

    Hello

Please follow the steps mentioned below and check if it helps.

    Method 1:

I would recommend you to rebuild the database of Windows Media Player and see if the problem is resolved.

    Here's how:

To resolve this problem, delete the Windows Media Player database. To do this, follow these steps:

    a. exit Windows Media Player.

    b. Click Start, run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Playerand then click OK.

    c. Select all files in the folder and then click on Delete on the file menu.

Note: You don't have to remove the folders that are in this folder.

    d. restart Windows Media Player.

Note: Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

Method 2: If this does not resolve the problem, disable the Windows Media Player database cache files.

To do this, follow these steps:

    a. exit Windows Media Player.

    b. Click Start, run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoftand then click OK.

    c. Select the Media Player folder, and then click on Delete on the file menu.

Then when you select a file to play to its new location, a new entry is created in your library if you select the option automatically added to your library when played. To stop music files to be automatically added to your library.

    a. in Windows Media Player, on the Tools menu, click Options.

    b. on the Player tab, clear the files of music to add to the library when played check box.

Now, when you play music on your computer or the Internet, the file will not be added automatically to your library.

    Hello

With the recent update to the iTunes player, version 12.4.0, I was unable to remove duplicate songs and can't find a way to do it. If Apple hid this feature, can someone update me with this information.

    Thank you

Some menus have been reorganized in the latest iTunes.  I do not use the new iTunes, but since yours is the first post I've seen on this subject I think that to find duplicates feature is still there.

  • How to delete bookmarks duplicate?

I have a lot of duplicate bookmarks in Firefox and the number continues to add on. There are few answers in this regard on the Support pages, but none of them work. Neither the Add - ons mentioned (sad that trivial things and basic need of Add-ons).

As there is no good way to sync Chrome and Firefox bookmarks, I often find myself manually import in a browser to another and after that I end up having tons of duplicates. I have this can handle in Chrome, but have not figured out how to do this in Firefox. I think Sync should handle this.

In any case, a quick solution in this regard? Preferably without an add-on (sigh! one more thing to slow down the browser).
