I added the video card after purchase and found that it worked just right if I went into the BIOS and set it to use only the nVidia card.   Uh, you're confused here. The GS Wavetable is a terrible software with an alarming problem of latency to read Midi, audio files not. It belongs to all windows, no only XP so you can't get rid of it. You simply do not use it as a default device, but only if you have other software installed Midi playback.
