Hewlett Packard 2B 29: I can upgrade processor my PC?

Hello

First of all, I want to say that I am new to the forum. But I read a lot of useful posts in the past, which is what encouraged me to join here, now that I have a problem and cannot find an answer to my question.

I recently got a new PC and it works like a dream! Well, on most things, it's. I play a lot of (more than I want to admit) games on my PC found. But lately, I just discovered; most of the games I want to require a processor better.

My current processor running at 2.0 GHz, while most of the games I want to play requires a minimum of 2.13 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. Or a recommended 3 GHz Intel i3 or equivalent.

What I want to know is; can I upgrade my processor? And if so, how far can I go?

Just found a new LINK.

Looks like I'm out of luck, because my processor is not extensible.

Well. Thanks for the advice, the boyfriend.

It was at least worth it.

    (a) for CPU: you need to replace the motherboard too and it is a very expensive upgrade. Please read the manual on the link third next (page 84):

    Greetings!

First of all, I can't find the model number of my laptop, even if I follow these steps here, http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00033108

But when I check my control panel > system and security > system, I found these details:

    Manufacturer: DriverPack Solution

Model: Hewlett-Packard HP Pavilion Notebook PC g4

    Rating: 4.7

    : Processor Intel (R) Core (TM) i3 - 2310 M 2.10 GHz, 2.10 GHz

Installation of memory (RAM): 4.00 GB

    System type: 64-bit Operating System

My friend told me it's HP Pavilion g4 1001tx

Originally, the installed memory is 2,00 GB, then I upgraded to 4.00 GB. Now my question is that I can improve to 8.00 GB? Say to 4.00 GB.

Should what kind of RAM I buy?

Please tell me everything related to my question.

Your help will be very appreciated.

    Thank you

P.S. also how much is the 4 GB? The last time, it has 2 GB, for, we add an another 2 GB to 4 GB but it did not work. We have therefore decided to add 4 GB only. So, is it only 8 GB too?

Also, how much is the 4 GB? Is it only 8 GB which can be installed right away?

The last time, I had 2 GB and we put an another 2 GB to 4 GB but it did not work. So, we put 4 GB of RAM only. It worked.

  • Upgrading processor on Compaq Presario 7 rpm 11

I would just like to know what size processor I can install in this unit so that I can run Windows 7 a bit better on this PC. I know that it is possible to put a different processor in this 1.5 Ghz Pentium 4 PC. I have already installed the max for memory, I wonder if I can do the same for the speed of the processor. Thanks for any help you can give!

geeman58 wrote: the video card requires a 300 Watt including the PC a. power supply I decided to not upgrade the processor and I'll take your advice. It's just that I would go to the bottom of what I have before moving on to my next PC. In order to do that I went on the Intel site to study this and although I got what seems to be valid information from him, I came to realize that, while their products, maybe in my PC, they are not original they are OEM. So I went to the Web of HP/Compaq site to try to identify just what I have and what a mess it is! I even went to the online chat support, what a joke it is as well. Nobody seems to know where we can go to refer to what is simply in their product! You get reference to their online support site that gives no answer to what motherboard you have, or how to determine if you can update the BIOS. Yet once, I will do what at this point I'm just trying to determine if it could be done. If there is a problem in the age of the manipulation of data, I'm sorry, but why should I buy a HP product? Is another manufacturer no better with the PC component specification? Or is there a resource that I don't know, do you?  I want to say how do you get your information on the HP products which are supposed to be so old that even the guru online chat have no information? If you can answer all these questions I really would appreciate it. As always, have a great day! Thanks for the time!

Hello geeman58, it seems that all OEMs work well even. There is no way they can keep to the top with all of their systems for ten years, when systems are deemed have reached their service life after 5 years.

When these systems are at the end of their useful life, as your East, no OEM will have information about the system you need. They switched to newer systems. This is how it is. This is the case with almost any manufactured product you buy. What is the main factor to be considered here, it is that a home computer system is considered as obsolete after 5 years and a business system after 3 years.

You work with a ten year old system. In the world of computers, a system which is six months, it looked dated, since technology is changing so quickly.

I suggest you go to learn more about the latest systems and technology, since the old technology is no longer relevant.  That's all just a waste of time and effort to continue along this path.

You mentioned the video card requires a 300 Watt power supply, but you must also consider more the requirments of power of the video card, the support for this card into the slot in the motherboard. There is a maximum power that can be delivered from the motherboard to the video card. If the card requires more power that the motherboard has been designed to offer, the result will be a motherboard or video card failure.

It seems you are experimenting the very old hardware and try to get this very old equipment to function as the latest accesoriess, and that is impossible.

The HP's Support Forum is not an official site of Hewlett Packard Support. It is a peer Forum, with members trying to help others to solve some of their problems with their HP/Compaq computers to. I don't know any Member here who considers himself a "guru". There are a lot of Members here who know a lot about computers in general and the HP/Compaq computers specifically, but they don't know what should I know about all HP/Compaq computers ever built.

Since it seems that this question cannot be resolved to your satisfaction, I consider that it is resolved to my point of view, because I can't give any other information that may be useful.

Can I put in my proceror R500 and RAM?
Is possible? If Yes, how can you procesor I used?

    Robert

    Hello

    You can upgrade the RAM.
You can use the DDR2 667 MHz (PC2-5300) or 533 MHz 200 - PIN SODIMM modules.
You can use a 1 GB RAM module this is the max!
There is also an internal RAM which can be removed if only one slot is expandable!

With regard to upgrading the CPU.
Usually it s not advised to replace/upgrade of the processor because the BIOS has not been tested with other processors

  • updates failed every night for Hewlett Packard Imaging printing HP Photosmart 6520 series NULL

Since I have my printer photosmart 6520 02/12/2012 every night he's trying to update Hewlett Packard photosmart HP 6520 series print NULL Imaging... .and it fails every time.  I have a desktop HP P 7 1010 and since I got a new printer, I have an exclaimation point on my computer and it says the problems and when you do it it's is not drivers and it shows NO FIXED.  When you close the session at night, he tries to update the NULL characters again and it fails every time.  I spoke with people from your service many times for more than an hour and they can't solve the problem.  Help, please

I did some research on the problem of another user, and looks like it's just a ghost update.  Basically, an update 'ghost' is an update that was for the device, but unit has newer drivers which causes the update failing to keep.  The only thing you can do is to hide the update, or ignore it.  Windows will continue to try to push it, but your printer does not need it.  If she didn't need the update, it would install right.  You can find the thread where I helped another user below.  I hope this helps.

  • Upgrading processor on the desktop Compaq Presario Media Center SR2019UK

as stated above I'm looking to upgrade and I was wondering what was the taken cpu supported by my motherboard A8M2N - LA. On the motherboard

    specifications page

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c00714578

He mentioned that it supports AMD Athlon 64, Athlon 64 X 2 and Sempron processors. I was wondering if someone could send me a list of the athlon 64 X 2 processors support so I don't end up buying one that does not work...

I checked the specifications of your computer system, and I see that you can upgrade the processor up to an Athlon 64 X 2 5000. Please contact any of the local stores for the same thing.

    Example:

    AMD Athlon 64 X 2 5000 Brisbane 2.6 GHz, 2 x 512 KB L2 Cache Socket AM2 65W Dual-Core processor - retail

Once you buy the processor, please follow the steps in the link given below to replace the processor.

In addition, if your PC still uses the original PC4200 (533 MHz) DDR2 RAM, I highly recommend to replace

with more quick PC5300 (667 MHz) DDR2 RAM (1.8 volts).

    Storm99,

Daniel has formulated a hypothesis unfortunately all wrong.

There are only 3 CPU for this computer, all the 25W. See your system specs here:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c02822223

The max would be the Athlon II 270u (Regor) (25W) 2.0 GHz

PS > you power supply is only of 90W.
