How to disable secure boot? [Urgent]

I would like to know how I can disable Windows 8 Safe Boot-Up without logging in? I didn't start would disable the fingerprint reader, which is my primary connection method and now I can't seem to login screen.

I would like to mention that the minimum safe boot option is checked under Advanced so not only some sound glitch.

Hello

I just found this... http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/Windows-startup-settings-safe-mode

He suggests that you may need to log even when media starts...

It is possible that you can or need to try a restore, or worst case, reinstall windows...

If you are required to open a session with the media, it will probably not allow a refresh or RESET or...

If it must come to that there are some Linux based programs bootable, allowing you to save important files on an external HARD drive or Flash drive... I hope this won't be necessary...

everything on the net, I was able to boot/secure boot / disabled, which meant I could f12 at startup in the Boot Manager.

Unfortunately, the drama is over. Kindly listed boot manager internal hard drive, but not bootable usb or dvd connected.  so I thought, I'm going to be cunning and change the boot order of start. Yet once the monster of Bios Acer jeeringly laughed at my attempts to

So, it seems, the only option I have left to change is boot/boot mode / (boot uefi/legacy). So what I need to change to restore the boot control, is to change legacy BIOS uefi? Who will install the w8 cack?

  • HP Envy 15 laptop: cannot disable secure boot

I want to install Linux.  Windows 8.1 is a horrible operating system for a computer.

I need to disable startup secure in the BIOS.

I have the BIOS verion F.42 since March 2015.

CAN I change the simple options such as the time of the machine. But if I turn on legacy mode or disable the startup secure that they do not change on a restart. I use F10 to save the changes, but when restart values are not changed.

I tried to restore the default settings of the BIOS and then make my change. That did not help.

    Secure boot just disabling "doesn't".

    Just enabling legacy mode "doesn't".

I had to disable secure boot and THEN enable the traditional way. That stuck and both remained in the way I did.

Even if the GUI * said * secure boot is disabled when you enable the traditional way, I still need to disable secure first boot.

After this change, I saw a message from the BIOS on the "changes of BIOS and to accept them or not.

    Have a great day.

If you original computer comes with Windows 7, it is not / is not compatible "Secure Boot. Please see "on UEFI and Start Menu" for more information on access to various start up options and instructions on disabling "Secure Boot".

To boot from a valid "UEFI USB", the computer must recognize the active UEFI boot device. Some computers are not what UEFI valid "NTFS" format USB Flash Drives UEFI activate and in this case, the USB Flash drive must be formatted in FAT32.

Use the Boot Menu or Boot Device menu to choose a source of UEFI, such as Windows Boot Manager startup, - internal CD/DVD drive or UEFI - UEFI USB Flash drive.

    Hello

Secure boot is a Windows 8 feature that uses a public key infrastructure to check the integrity of the operating system and to restrict programs unauthorized such as start-up kits to infect the machine.

I checked the BIOS of your system model and there is no option to disable secure boot.

Before you install Windows 8, I suggest you to run Windows 8 Upgrade Wizard by clicking on the link below, it will scan the system hardware, applications, and devices connected to see if they will work with Windows 8:

  • Aspire R disable secure boot

My VPN provider requires the version 5 Cisco VPN Client.  The VPN client installs a unsigned kernel mode driver.  The UEFI boot system uses Secure Boot, requiring signed kernel-mode drivers.

When I go through the initialization (non secure/non-UEFI) legacy, she prays for a USB dongle, I did not.

What should I do to start inherited from the SSD hard drive?

After I have legacy-boot, I need the old acer drivers?  Those who?  Where can I download them?

After I have legacy-boot, I need to reinstall soundcards 10?  How the hell can I do that?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you just need to install an unsigned driver, you don't need legacy or disable startup secure; Just disable windows application signed drivers.

  • How to disable security settings

I book my movie tickets online and have always been able to select my seat when a plan of the cinema showing places available. Since last week I can no longer do this. The table plan no longer appears and I just get a little window saying blocked Application and 'your security settings have blocked an application not approved race.' If I click on the Details tab, I get a Java Console box with a list of stuff that doesn't make much sense to me. I want to know how to disable anything that blocks the plan places movies so that I can continue to see and book my tickets I've ever done.

    Hello Philipp,

Thanks for the reply - since I posted the message that I discovered that the problem is with the latest Java update - it does not work with the way cinema will post their plans of seats. The film is trying to find another way for people to see the table plan. So as you say, it wasn't a problem in Firefox. Thank you very much.

  • How to disable the boot into single user mode SIP?

    Hi all

My MacBook Pro (bought in May 2011, out of warranty at this stage) is not able to start. I think that the graphics card is dead, I can boot into single user mode and run the Apple Hardware Test (no problem found). I found this acticle (https://people.cam.cornell.edu/~zc227/extras/early2011mbp_graphics.html), but I can't follow the steps to start the Mac to avoid the AMD card, such as the SIP is activated (cannot move road file extensions).

I can't boot into recovery mode, due to the inability to start the graphical mode. Any other way to disable SIP?

    Thanks in advance.

    Ana

In the developers page: security configuration is stored in NVRAM, rather than in the file system itself. As a result, this configuration applies to all Mac OS X installations across the entire machine and persists through installations of OS X than Protection of the integrity of support system.

To enable or disable the Protection of the integrity of the system, you must start on recovery OS and run the csrutil(1) command from the Terminal.

    Integrity https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204899 Protection System

This command can be run without root privileges and will tell you whether or not the SIP is enabled.

to find out whether the SIP is enabled or disabled, run

    status of csrutil

    to disable SIP:

copy & paste the following and then press ENTER:

    csrutil disable

    To activate the SIP

  • How do disable you booting from removable devices on Satellite R830?

    Hi all

Can someone help me find a way to disable booting from removable devices on a toshiba Satellite R830.

    Thank you?

    Hello

You can't disable booting from a boot device.
You can simply change the boot order in the BIOS.

If you don t want to start, for example: USB, just put the HARD drive as first boot device.
Now the laptop will boot first from the HARD drive. If it isn t HARD (because of missing systems) bootable disk, the BIOS will pass to the next device, IE: CD/DVD player

  • How to disable the boot Maintainersvc service?

Trying to help a friend with WIN7 system which is slow. I see that, according to start services that it ia a program Maintainersvc 1.92.5302915 listed an unknown manufacturer.  I can disable it but it should be here and should he be removed somewhere else?

    Thank you

    Ron

This was written for Windows 8, but much of it can still apply: difficulty of slow, slow PC

Also on the service: unchecking it there on the MSCONFIG tab should be sufficient, as long as this isn't a malicious service that reactivates itself. You can also run services.msc in the box run to open service managers and completely disable the service. Or, view the properties for the file name, the service runs to leave and even take the step of deleting this file (I recommend only put in the trash until you are sure it is safe to delete completely - better safe than sorry).

  • I have download 4 updates from Ms... now secure boot blocked out me of my computer with Windows 7 Pro

Tonight MS had 4 updates for my computer Windows 7 x 64... so I never thought, no big deal, will download and install as usual.

After that, I can't start my computer.  Something happened with secure startup.

    The message says:

System available on the firmware, operating system or driver uefi unauthorized changes.

    (N) press to run the next boot device, or "enter" directly to the configuration of the bios...

Go to the configuration of the bios > advanced > start and change the current boot device in another secure boot device.

Secure startup is enabled, and the key to the platform was something like State PK2 and loaded.

I had my computer for years and never had this problem... What do we have Ms to my computer the latest updates.  I'm screwed

and have all my medical records, legal documents, stuff personal and all my families, grandchildren pictures, etc...

I use a friends computer... my is dead and locked out.  Can I reset my key or something?   Even my back of the player will not work, and I made backups for years.  Another option, reset the bios with jumper?

Support - all my doctor's appointments and medical stuff is there.  I recently suffered a crisis heart (a real one) and went to the hospital and see a cardio doc... again, my medical life is on this computer - I need to work again.

How can I solve this... that's happened?

    Hello

We wish to inform you that after you install the update 3133977 on a Windows 7 x 64 system which includes a main focus on the ASUS card, the system does not start, and it generates a Secure Boot error on the ASUS BIOS screen. This problem occurs because ASUS has helped the motherboard turn on the secure boot process, even if Windows 7 does not support this feature.

To resolve this issue, go to the following ASUS support site to find out how to disable Secure Boot for Windows 7:

Note the Secure Boot feature is supported in Windows 10. To learn more about the benefits of security of this feature, as well as on the way to upgrade Windows 7 to 10 of Windows, go to the following Windows site:
