  This isn't the correct workflow.

  When you rename a folder outside of Lightroom, it causes the link between this issue and Lightroom to be broken and images will be missed in the Lightroom Catalog

  and if you re-import them same images after that, it will import the original images and not the changes

  Lightroom does not store the original images it contains. It works on the previews and the changes you make are stored only in Lightroom.

  So, you have to rename or move this folder in Lightroom instead of doing outside so that you do not lose your changes.

  To rename a folder, select the folder name in the library module > right click / Control click and select Rename folder.

  Most laptops have digital keyboards "stacked" on top of the normal keys, usually in a different color.  For example, every Dell laptop includes a numeric keypad where the number 5 is the same as the key J, written in a blue font on the key.  On these laptops, you can use the function (Fn) key to access these blues numbers.  Because it is all engaged in hardware, Windows and other programs interpret as real numbers presses of buffer, which means you can use it to type characters.

  If your laptop does not these functions, you can also use the character map program.  You can search by name in the start menu, or typecharmap program name in the search box on the start menu and press ENTER to access the program.  Once there, you can find and select the character to copy/paste in your program on the other.

  There are several ways to achieve this effect, which involve cutting out the dress in the background.

  To select the dress, I recommend playing with the quick selection tool (see below), to select the area of the dress.

  

  An alternative is to draw around the edge of the dress with the pen tool. Once you have drawn around the dress, right click and click 'make selection '. The pen tool give you more control over the area of selection than does the quick selection tool.   Once you have chosen the dress, just hit cmd/Ctrl 'C' on your keyboard to copy and create a new layer (highlighted in blue below). On this new layer, press cmd/Ctrl 'V' on your keyboard to paste. You can now hide or delete the original layer of the photo, and there you go!

  If all goes well, a super simple question to someone... Driving me crazy right now! I have a folder on my desk of RAW (image) files, that I imported into LR up and worked. So now when I open LR and access this folder, the images are seen behind a grey colour and cannot be selected and / or worked on. Only way around it so far has been rename images, re-import them to LR and then expand them, which is of course very time consuming. How can I access these images and expand them?
