How to edit text in Design view - that is to say get one I have instead of the arrow cursor

DW CS6 it is a very clear basis on the question of the concept. Normally, I work in code view and have no problem. Sometimes, there is a big block of text in a paragraph that is in a div.

I want to correct a simple typo or insert a text more directly from the view in design mode. However, almost all the time, when I click on-site I change, the cursor is an arrow and the whole div Gets a yellow border. I still have the selection arrow, not the vertical bar I have to edit.

Sometimes I seem to fall on the right set of clicks and get the Edit bar.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Design mode can get quite cranky when your code contains errors.

Check the validator to http://validator.w3.org and make sure you are working with clean code before resorting to wiping preferences, or by reinstalling config files.

If your code is clean and it is still not allow to click your text in Design view, you may have a problem of indexing of z. I noticed on the pages that use a lot of positioning (APDivs) you can accidentally hide your text boxes with transparent/virgins areas of other elements and cause problems when trying to access this text at a later date.

It's all guesswork without however to see your actual page.

Could you post a link?

    Hello Damien,.

If you talk about form fields in the Widget, then Yes, you can change them by going to the tab manage and click Edit opposite the name of the Widget under the Widgets section.

  • Problem with editing text in Design view

    Hello

I have DW8 and if I create a Web site by simply using DIV and CSS tags in design, a background color view is added behind a text making it extremely difficult to read and edit it. It does not appear when displayed in a browser, just the design view.

As I understand it as a colleague that this happens in MX...

I look through all the technical notes and you don't see anything relevant... any suggestions received greatly.

No - it's the way you've built your stylesheet of zillions of
custom without context classes. There is no easy way to determine which
custom class is a priority. Try adding a container name to the class who
determines the color of background #FFF in these divs.

  • White background behind the text in Design view

I use DW8 for a few months now, and today he has decided to
give me a headache. For some reason, all the text in Design view is
display with a white background - not terribly boring for most of
the text, but horrible for the text that actually * is * white!

It is not a problem of css or something like that; in fact, my pages display
very well outside of DW. Is there a place I can 'reset' the
    creation mode? Mine is broken!

    SHE FOUND!

Turns, the problem was with some CSS which was intended to set the IE double margin float problem. I had a div style to ' display: inline ' to fix the double margin and makes somehow all the text background noise white... but only in the browser of DW. To resolve this problem, I created a file iehacks.css, put the code in this file and then linked to the file online hack in a
